Felt like a warm hug
24 November 2023
I don't really write reviews, but In case of Lessons in Chemistry, I feel like I need to write one. This show is amazing, it's smart, it's funny, it's inspiring and it's beautiful.

My favorite part is the connection between Elizabeth and her daughter. It's so nice to see such an adult and honest relationship. I'm not sure it's possible to raise a kid like this in real life, but It definitely sounds amazing.

Elizabeth is really an inspiring character with all her knowledge about health and life and her values about family and friendships. She somehow seems to know it all.

I recommend this show to everyone who wants to soo some love, have some laughs, see some struggles and most importantly, get some motivation to life a little bit better life.

Now this is what I call sci-fi
29 April 2023
I binge watched all 6 season, that is something that barely happens to me.

In the first season I didn't like it that much, it was kind calm while also being fast paced, a weird combination. But after i got to know the characters I just couldn't stop. This new 24th century world just sucked me in. It's quite long but i don't think it gets boring at all. Of course, there are highs and lows, I think it was the third season when I felt that this is the time for slowing down. But overall it's an amazing series with lovable characters and an interesting storyline. I keep seeing the world in the leses of this series, which haven't happened to me since I was a kid. Highly recommend.

Slow but never too slow
19 March 2023
The Banshees of Inisherin is the kind of movie where you sit in the end of it and think: ok, I've got it but what's the actual meaning of all this?

The movie is about two friends who got into a fight. Well, not really a fight, but one if them just stops speaking to the other and this really confuses the other. Then the remaining story is about this conflict.

Since the movie takes place in an Irish island during the revolution, the characters are sometimes a little bit dull. Just as our main character. I think the movie is actually about the feeling when you're stuck in a place and you want to be better, but all the people around you are taking you down. What can you do? You can either move away or you can accept it and get used to it. But one thing for sure, you can't stay there and refuse to socialise because that's just nerve wracking.

I did not expect this
14 March 2023
It says in the description: "A fashion model celebrity couple join an eventful cruise for the super-rich."

Short and mysterious. After reading this, you wonder what is this actually about. Well, it's about how funny the rich can be from the outside. Coming from a hospitality industry background, I worked in many restaurants and hotels, so most of the scenarios (at least in the beginning khm) were familiar. It's satire by heart. It takes this concept to a level so high, that it becomes ridiculous. It's edging on a sharp blade but it doesn't fall. It just keeps being ridiculous and smart at the same time.

It definitely need some brain power to understand, but if you do, it's very good. It made me think a lot and laugh a lot at the same time.

Highly recommend for hospitality workers.

Outer Banks (2020– )

Back again
28 February 2023
The Outer Banks, the place where it's either sunrise or sunset. This beautiful landscape with our friend in it is back for Season 3!

It was nice to see these guys back in action. This season gives just as much action as the two other before this, although sometimes it feels a little bit too much. We don't get any more new characters, it's mostly about finishing the saga.

If you like treasure hunting movies you'll like this one too. But it also dosen't give more than that. The usual bad guy vs good guy trying to find the treasure at the same time situation. Sometimes the "surprises" feel annoying. You just want the story to keep going. But I guess they needed to do this to fill the time.

I wouldn't give 7 point just for this season, but as a finish for the triology it's just enough.

Not dark enough
23 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I was really waiting for this after Dark, which is from the same directors. That series hooked me up big time with all the confusion and time travel. I think I binge watched it in a few days. So I was expecting the same thing from this one too. It started very promising, lot of confusion. Although after the third episode it become kind of obvious what was it about. I was hoping it would give something surprising, but it didn't.

The story itself was very promising though. But unfortunately it was cancelled, so 1900 will never come.

I liked the multilingual characters. I've never seen a movie where the actors were talking to each other in different languages and still kind of understanding each other. But it totally make sense, since a ship like this one would have contained a lot of people from different countries.

Overall I recommend watching it if you like Dark, but don't expect the same thing, it's something very different, but equally interesting.

Nothing matters
20 February 2023
This movie can be a little over the top for some, especially if you don't like confusing moives. But if you like movies what you need to move your braina little bit, you're gonna love this one. It's not too much if you pay attention.

Beneath all this mess there is a valuable lesson in here: Nothing matters. Nothing what we do or have done matters because it's all going to be forgotten at some point and the world will end. So why bother? Why try to enjoy anything? The solution according to the movie is, because we can do it together. And it does have some truth in it. Even the worsts things are better if we have someone to lean on.

Perfect for turning off
16 February 2023
The first few episodes seems a bit stupid sometimes, but it gets more serious in a good way. I've watched two seasons so far and it. We get to know the characters more deeply, whom are quite interesting and well developed. The seriousness and the fun are alternating. After the first few episodes, the fun are more mature and adult, but of course, with some occasional poop jokes. The series it's perfect for just turning off after a long day. Especially if you work in a similar place or if you can relate to the field.

Side note: I realy enjoyed the two episodes where we got to know C. W. Longbottom's backstory. Super interesting.

Good but nothing new
12 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
In the first half of the movie I thought: ,,ah, another war movie again", but in the second half it become more interesting, it gave something new, at least something new for me. It showed another side of the war, a side from the common people. It also showed how unimportant the war was for the average. Usually the war movie's main charaters are the heros or the people how survived and not the common people. The war was only something what people in higher positions wanted. The fact that they fought until the last minute because they were told to, says a lot. The movies showed us once again that nobody wants to go to a war, it's just something we are forced to do.
