Foundation: Why the Gods Made Wine (2023)
Absolutely superb!
Absolutely superb episode!
Foundation continues to astound with its intricate storytelling and breathtaking visuals. As a fan of Isaac Asimov's work, I was thrilled to see his vision come to life on screen. This episode, in particular, struck a perfect balance between revealing key plot points and leaving us hungry for more.
The pacing was masterful, effortlessly weaving between character development and advancing the overarching narrative. Each scene felt purposeful, contributing to the larger puzzle that is unfolding. The dialogues are thought-provoking, often delving into complex themes while maintaining the essence of Asimov's philosophical exploration.
What truly sets Foundation apart is its ability to transport the audience to a distant future that is both mesmerizing and believable. The attention to detail in the set designs and visual effects is commendable, making the show a visual feast. The world-building continues to expand, revealing more layers of this captivating universe.
The performances by the cast are praiseworthy. Their portrayal of multifaceted characters adds depth and authenticity to the narrative. It's evident that the actors have immersed themselves in the source material, bringing out the nuances that fans adore.
As the story unfolds, this episode keeps us on the edge of our seats, tantalizing us with answers while expertly introducing new questions. The plot twists are unexpected yet fitting, showcasing the brilliance of both Asimov's original ideas and the creative team behind the show.
In conclusion, this episode is a triumph in every sense. It not only pays homage to Isaac Asimov's genius but also stands on its own as a remarkable piece of television. With its captivating storytelling, remarkable visuals, and stellar performances, Foundation continues to solidify its place as a modern sci-fi classic. Can't wait to see what the next episodes have in store!
Thank you!
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Subspace Rhapsody (2023)
Very cringe and not very Star Trek. Please don't do this again.
Like many sci-fi fans, I like sci-fi shows, and I love everything about Star Trek. But this wasn't worthy to watch.
It's good to experiment in life, but not that good to experiment in a niche (Star Trek) of a niche (Sci-Fi genere).
Musicals are a different breed and work on a different style of writing and they are aimed for a different fan base. Everything about this episode was not in the right time or place. Too bad it had some parts that are critical for the continuity of the story and you will now have some blanks if you totally skip this. If it was a total filler content or a extra episode it would have been more... ok, I guess?
I don't know, but it even seem a bit cringe and hard to swallow even for the actors, are they being punished for their strikes?
I fast forwarded most of the episode or to be more specific, most of the singing. Except for Mr. Spok's time. That was a acceptable and logical song. Thank you Mr. Spok!
I really hope this is just an exception, And please, don't do musicals again.
Live long and prosper!
The Ark: Get Out and Push (2023)
Starting to recover, hopefully not too late
I really hated the first episode, the bad effects, bad props, and generally low quality everything.
Even with all that, I kept waiting for the next episode, and the next one.
It has something to keep you there!
This ep will not be loved by scientists or some might find it a bit amusing (the lack of real physics) but after all it's a TV Show, not a documentary. It went a bit anime style
I really loved to see that now there is a increased attention to detail and in general better acting. The cast is starting to enter their roles and it's noticeable that they are less shy.
The only not so positive about this is that the plot is a bit of a mystery . Too much is happening in a short time but yet, not much of a story so far.
This show has huge potential! But right now it's in a love-hate situation with the sci-fi fan base. Every new episode is a step in the right direction.
In the end, we want sci-fi, we like the idea, we love ships, but if it's not scientifically accurate (like the expanse), at least bring in some "fantasy" tech. Right now it's like watching a 80's show, the tech is too actual, even for 100 years in the future!
