The Lottery (2014)

Bad Science. Bad Fiction. Bad Drama
4 August 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I could forgive the horrible cinematography (I like believe) I could forgive the bad acting (As I said I like believe). I could even forgive the far fetched scenario (you see where I am going). But the characters are unforgivable, They are all insanely 2 dimensional. All the women are desperate and just a bit crazy. All the men are conniving and emotionally unavailable. The Kids are cute but have no other qualities. The leads are both unconvincing and quite unlikeable. Oh and I can only say this once. !!The Black Death is not caused by a virus!! It did not die out in the 16th century, and every Cell biologists and medical professional knows this. You guys just lost everyone who like science in one fell swoop. This is more annoying to tomorrow peoples 3 Ts. This would have been a 4, but since this error is central to your story, that's the end of me watching this sub par drivel.

Not an entirely Rubbish movie despite the preaching
10 September 2013
Altogether though I would not recommend this movie for anyone who is not part of the Abrahamic faiths, because the feel good message only applies to them and without that it is a bit on the dreary side (no one in the film seems very happy about anything). If you are of the Christian persuasion what Constantine again

This is one of those films that if it was not a ridiculous proselytising for Christian dogma, would be a fairly typical so bad its good B movie. There is a almost coherent story line, the actors are of the fairly competent TV actor type, and the action dialogue and cinematography were not so bad that I could not watch it to the end. Some times the preaching was a bit much, though I imagine it was more for believers benefit than anyone else. I see there is a Revelation Road 2, which makes sense as this film does not really have a natural end to it without a sequel.

Good Film ruined by not being set in the early 80's
12 January 2012
I am from East Ham. I have live there since the 70's. West Ham is a real place. So is Green Street. The film is a very moving awakening film with great acting direction and cinematography, and would have have got 9 or 10 stars if it was not for it's glaring inaccuracies. Organised football hooliganism, from white East-end gangs was a real issue back in the late 70's and early 80's. Green street and the rest of the East-end back then was mainly Pubs and working man Clubs. Since the early 90's this is no longer the case. Green Street is probably the most popular Asian (That's Indian sub continent) Market in Britain. Though there are plenty of West Ham fans. This type of hooliganism is largely unheard of in London. Even if the script needs it still to be there, why are there no Asian people in Newham (that's the borough Green Street is in). If they had just set the film in the early 80's. I would have really enjoyed it and not had the unpalatable taste of them White washing my home town.
