This Town (2024)
This town
Just finished all 6 episodes. Wasn't to sure after 1st episode, but really glad I continued watching. Theres nothing like a gritty dark british made drama I find them so much more believable and realistic than what the Americans do. Top marks to all the cast for some great acting performances, and I do mean all cast. And to the writer who I think dealt with some delicate and controversial subjects in an excellent manner. My only slight criticism is the regular reference to religion. But in hind sight the storyline was around a large Catholic presence redemption and a church, all in all loved it and hope for a 2nd season or more.
Smile (2022)
Nothing to smile about.
I really wanted to like this movie after reading reviews saying it was scary frightening and should have warnings about some of the content. Some
one said people had walked out of the movie theater as it was so shocking. It is none of the above maybe shockingly average.it had two or three jump moments if you are of a very nervous disposition, it is reasonably well acted and just about watchable, just! All to predictable The ending was dreadful I've been more scared watching the news. If you are desperate for something to look at give it a look but don't expect to much and you might get to the end of it without switching off.
Borley Rectory (2017)
Dreadful
Having visited borley a few times in my youth, now 58. And annoyed the locals who rightly so used to get the hump when numerous cars would park outside their homes all times of night just so they could walk back to the church in hope to see something that let's face it is just a fable. I now live less than 4 miles from borley but have not gone back to pester these folk again. There's nothing to see the rectory has been gone for decades .
So the movie I watched purely because i had been there, if I could of given it a minus score I would of. Less than a b movie dreadful acting and special effects will never view again.
