The BBC in the past used to only broadcast programmes that reached a certain standard This was far below any acceptable standard The plot was ridiculous ,the dialogue very poor and the performances were even poorer One would think that all the actors were amateurs.

This is not the case and the director if there was one has to take responsibility for their performances To put this out at three successive nights at peak viewing hour is an insult to viewers I would rather watch women trying to play football.

After Shtisel and Faudra a very disappointing first episode The period between the end of the Ottoman Empire and the birth of the State of Israel is very significant in the history of the Middle East. This programme even with its Rom-com.connections has an opportunity of explaining how the apparent insoluble problems between Jews and Arabs came about. Instead we are given a poorly written poorly produced series which seems to be made on a very low budget . What an opportunity lost.

Great fun Nothing like real Opera in spite of well dubbed famous arias but a very enjoyable old fashioned good humoured film.

No one murdered ,no one beaten up ,no simulated sex ,and the most unlikely Don Giovanni ever but a welcome feel good film.
