Started to watch the movie not expecting anything as the synopsis is very vague and left with nothing, only with 2 hours of wasted time.

It's a movie about a woman who downloads an mp4 video from the dark web. Nothing else. I've seen video projects made my students who don't even study cinematography.

I read the reviews about this movie and I get it. I really do. You can make stuff up about anything, like let's say about a guy who drinks water and nothing else, for about 2 hours. You could say that the movie is about how water is essential to life, how it is refreshing, so on and so forth. But you'll be spending 2 precious hours of your life watching a guy drinking water. So with this movie about the main character downloading a file from the dark web.

It's an unique movie, but is it bad? Is it good?

It depends on who you are. There are major differences between South Korea and France, one country in which respect is a foundation of its society and the other one where liberty is.

It's not that those two wouldn't go hand in hand but there is a fine line between being "libre" and being an absolute a*hole that disconsiders other people around. This movie depicts the second adjective very good through its main character.

From a very conservative point of view, this movie is trash and from the opposite, it's a very interesting one. It is unique as it is a well produced French movie with Korean actors acting as in Korean movies.

Thing is, this movie can be interpreted on who you are but from a neutral point of view which would adapt and respect each country customs and traditions, Return to Seoul puts France and French people in a very bad light.

Watched this movies without knowing that it was a TV movie, but man, it had nothing to do with movies made for TV, even with those from its time. It was a very engaging watch, very tense in a good way. Not a horror thriller, definitely an action one and it's very likely that it will have you bite your nails.

There are some moments that do feel corny, that is to say that this movie isn't perfect and it has its flaws. But considering the year it was made and also the fact that Spielberg was relatively in his beginnings, also the fact that this movie is about a chase and nothing else and it succeeds to keep you glued to the screen, what more is to say about it?
