This list is based on a weighted score of domestic box office earnings 25%, IMDB's Metascore 15%, and Cinemascore of 60%. Domestic box office earnings are used because this list is for the U.S. market.
Cinemascore is used, as opposed to IMDB or Rotten Tomatoes, because their results are from actual movie-goers. However, when a Cinemascore was not available, the average score of IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes was used.
Box office earnings are only weighted 25% because of these factors: 1) Earnings are dependent on how many theaters a movie is shown in. 2) The movie's rating (R, PG-13, etc.) affects ticket sales in general. 3) Ticket sales can be affected by how much marketing is spent on promoting the film. 4) Earnings don't reflect profitability (A film that earned $300M but only made a profit of $50M may not be considered as successful as a film that earned $150M but made a profit of $100M).
The box office earnings score is calculated based on other movies in the same categoyr. In other words, for action movies, only the earnings of other action movies are used. The top earning film in a category gets 100 points. The earnings of the rest of the films in a category are then divided by the earnings of the top earner to get their score. Only movies that earned at least $30M at the box office are included in the rankings.
Metascore is only weighted 15% because critics aren't the target audience and their views are not necessarily reflected by the masses, who are the target audience. However, because they have probably seen a lot more films than the general population, their views are given some weight. Since the general population is the target audience, Cinemascore is given a weight of 60%.

Reviews
The Beekeeper (2024)
What a Fast-Paced, Fun, Popcorn, Action Flick!
Is this movie ridiculous? You bet. Is there a lot of character development? Nope. Is it non-stop action from start to finish? Yeppers! If you are looking for a fun movie, with little depth, that just doesn't stop, this is the movie for you. If not, don't go see it.
The main negative for me is the obvious DEI for the movie. White guys are of course the bad guys. The sidekick is of course a dark skinned woman. Obviously the only reason she got the part is because of her gender and skin color. The head of the CIA is of course a dark-skinned dude. Where are the Asians or Hispanics? Nowhere to be found of course.
FBoy Island (2021)
They change the rules at the end of the game.
On both seasons they changed the rules at the end of the game to be convenient for the women. Really stupid. The rules can't be changed at the whim of the creators.
The Anarchists (2022)
Ignore the negative reviews
This is a surprisingly really well done, engaging documentary. People are giving it poor reviews just because they disagree with the anarchist philosophy. I highly recommend you watch it.
Marco Polo (2014)
It Should Be Tagged As Fantasy As Well
This show is not based on reality at all. It's pretty much pure fiction. Some of the characters are real, but that is about it. I hate being mislead that what I am watching is based on fact, when in reality it isn't.
The Invention of Lying (2009)
Pretty Funny
The movie was actually pretty funny. Unfortunately, the story was pretty lame. Chubby, poor guy falls for hot, shallow girl. Guy becomes super rich. Girl still doesn't want guy because he is not good enough looking? Really? What shallow girl is going to pass up a super rich, nice guy? Stupid loser guy still chases shallow girl, and even goes on so much as to tell her how wonderful she is, even though she is always putting other people down who aren't good looking. There really is just nothing redeeming about the female character in this movie.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
What An Entertaining Movie!
This was just a very entertaining movie. Even though it had plenty of plot holes, like pretty much any super hero movie, it was so entertaining it didn't matter.
The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996)
Prequel to 9/11
This is probably where the people that committed 9/11 got their ideas from.
As to the movie, it was pretty unbelievable. Basically, the bad guys can't hit anyone with their guns, even if like 10 of them are all firing at the same person. But someone that hasn't fired a weapon in eight years and isn't using a weapon that she sighted herself is a perfect marksman. Okay.
But I like the actors and the movie does have a good pace.
The Blacklist (2013)
Great Show For Those That Have No Critical Thinking Skills
I couldn't make it past the first episode of season 1. Raymond tells Elizabeth (the FBI agent) that the general's daughter is going to be kidnapped by the bad guy, who Raymond helped get into the country. So Elizabeth goes to save the general's daughter. After picking her up from her dance class the bad guys ambush them by somehow planting hasmat workers for a supposed spill on the highway right where the FBI are going! Now, how in the heck did the bad guys know that the FBI were going to pick up the general's daughter and then head that way??? Well, either Raymond had to have been in on it and told the bad guys that he would have the FBI go get the daughter or the bad guys just have super powers. But even if he was in on it, then that wouldn't explain how the bad guys would know the exact route the FBI were going to be taking. So apparently the bad guys have super powers? Maybe they have a spy in the FBI? Who knows, but apparently no one in the FBI is smart enough to ask these questions.
True Lies (1994)
Based on a lie
Nuclear weapons are a hoax. Of course the bad guys are trying to smuggle a nuclear weapon into the USA. This is a fantasy movie.
Mission: Impossible III (2006)
This Mission Was Impossible
So about half way through the movie they have to go steal the "rabbit's foot". Apparently, because the security was so good, the mission was actually impossible. As such, all they show is Ethan getting into the building and then getting out a few minutes later with the goods. Magic!
A couple of scenes later the bad guy has him and asks him what the female agent told him via the disc she sent to him. He then tells him what's going on before he can answer. Wow, some good interrogation work there. Just spill the beans to the hostage first.
But really, this whole thing is mission impossible, meaning there is no way they could succeed. Unless he is actually an alien or has super powers. Maybe he has super powers that we don't know about?
Ford v Ferrari (2019)
Days of Thunder Was a Lot Better
This was definitely a good movie, worth seeing once. However, I couldn't help comparing it to Days of Thunder. Days of Thunder was just entertaining the whole time. The acting in this one felt forced. I felt like I should want to cry at the end, but I didn't. They just tried too hard. The only real redeeming feature of this film was the fact that it was based on a true story. If it wasn't based on a true story, I don't know that there would have been anything else really redeeming about it.
The Hunt (2020)
Only The Easily Offended Would Not Like This Film
The only poor reviews of this film have to come from lefties/liberals. This movie is simply one of the best dark comedies ever made. It is hilarious. It is very well acted. It is very fast-paced. The action is great. It's simply an awesome film. Unless you are easily offended, meaning someone who is politically correct. In which case, stay away from this film.
Tenet (2020)
Terrible Premise
Nuclear/atomic weapons are a hoax. How long are they going to make movies based on on that stupid lie?
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
There Are No Laws Apparently
This show is completely stupid. Sure, if Picard was the captain of a spaceship, employed by Starfleet, out in space, you can get away with a lot of things because there are no laws. However, on Earth, I would presume there are laws. But apparently not in Picard's world. They can just teleport right into other people's homes, I guess. No trespassing laws or defenses against that kind of intrusion I guess. And for some reason, he has people with him that know about high tech stuff, as if Starfleet doesn't have this information as well. I couldn't get past the first episode of this rubbish.
Knives Out (2019)
Because Rich People Always Talk To The Police Without Their Attorney
I'm sorry, but I couldn't get past the first 20 minutes of this movie. Come on, seriously, rich people talking to the police, let alone some private investigator, without their attorneys, regarding a possible murder? It's entertaining I guess as long as you don't care about reality, at all.
Wentworth (2013)
Dumbest show ever
They kill Bea Smith at the end of season 4. Her character was the only one worth watching. Don't waste your time.
Bosch (2014)
What a joke
Apparently this story is set in Los Angeles, California. However, this must be in some alternate reality. Only 9% of the Los Angeles population is black, however, for some reason the black vote is soooo important for the next mayor. Also, for some reason, 50% of the police force are black. But almost 50% of the area is Hispanic, yet hardly any of the characters are Hispanic.
It would definitely be more believable if it were set in Atlanta, GA, or if they just switched black characters with Hispanic characters.
Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020)
Just okay
I think this movie is worth seeing once. The action was definitely fun to watch, even though it was over the top.
Widows (2018)
Worth seeing once
Not a great movie, not a terrible movie. It was worth seeing once, but it was a little slow.
Death Wish (2018)
Something was off
There was just something off about this film. I just didn't care about the characters. And it seemed weird that all of the actors were beautiful people. I'm not sure if the acting just seemed forced or what, but it was missing something.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Boring
I can't believe this movie has as high a rating as it does. This movie was so slow! It was more a drama then an action movie. You just had sad characters crying for the first two hours.
And don't get me started on the time travel paradoxes. Time travel stories are for simpletons that can't write anything good.
Triple Frontier (2019)
Pretty bad movie
This movie just goes from bad to worse. First of all, it is pretty slow and boring. Second of all, the characters are just plain stupid. For some reason, $100 million isn't enough. They need to steal $250 million. This means they take longer and have to fight it out with more of the enemy. It also results in their helicopter not getting over the mountains so they end up only getting back with a few million dollars and their leader gets killed. The best line, "well the helicopter can only get up to 2,000 feat with 6,000 pounds and we have 9,000 pounds, but what the heck, lets do it." And they need to get up to 11,000 feet.
Venom (2018)
I am just wondering
When did reality change and governments started letting corporations keep extra terrestrial life and people stopped reporting to the government corporations that kill people? If you like movies that don't make any sense at all, you will probably love this film.
Silence (2016)
Boring
The movie is way too slow. It is just boring. The acting is good. I think the main point of the movie is to show how persecuted the Catholics were at this time in this place. Okay. Well, if you are interested in that stuff, then you will probably love the movie. If not, then there isn't much reason to see it.
The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017)
Amazing action
This movie has some of the best action scenes I have ever seen. A lot of reviews I have seen and read have been very critical of the interaction between Reynold's and Jackson's characters. I thought they were playing them like they were supposed to be played. The characters hated each other, and that is how they interacted with each other. The main issue is there was just too much dialogue in the movie. The interaction between the main characters was just not entertaining and it was a little weird. But, it was okay, and the action scenes were amazing. If you haven't seen it, watch it for the action scenes.
