My Dog Skip (2000)
A heartwarming classic
Even as I relentlessly tried to hold back tears as I watched that ending scene, I failed. I cried many times throughout this film in fact. It's movies like this that make me look at my dog and sob... and sob and sob and sob.
The casting was amazing, especially the little charmer of a dog! They chose perfectly.
While it was predictable and cheesy at times, it's a lovable classic nonetheless. Absolutely beautiful.
I loved the wisdom portrayed throughout the commentary on various topics such as childhood, war, loyalty, forgiveness and love, and especially the importance of cherishing every moment before it becomes a distant memory.
Pooch Perfect (2020)
Great Concept, Iffy Execution
Such a wonderful reality show with a lovable host and genuinely kind contestants. The only drama that occurred was based upon the performance of the grooms and not petty disagreements between the members, as these people were fair and good-mannered towards one another throughout the show. The pet dye was clearly safe and washable and the animals were treated with gentleness regardless of what the heated Karens and Kevins are on about. The only reason I am knocking off some stars is because the judges had a clear bias and were too over critical on certain people solely and lenient on others. The finale was cute but also disappointing as the least impressive design was chosen obviously because of the sob story that was provided by the winners. I also found that the jokes were too cheesy and oftentimes oddly sexual for a show about dogs. Other than these things, I was hooked on this show and would love to see more! As an artist and animal lover, this was definitely one of my favourite reality TV concepts out there!
