Fatih Harbiye (2013)
Very frustrating
I don't think I've ever watched such an oppressed and controlling series. The father of the main character is so controlling over his daughters life it's sickening. She's an adult and needs permission to leave the house.
These village folk are so backwards and old fashioned. It made for really hard viewing sometimes. Most of the series I fast forwarded a lot of the scenes that didn't have the main characters in it. This storyline of unrequited love gets really annoying. How can you stoop so low and be so desperate for someone that doesn't love you back. I wish the main character was a bit stronger and stood up to her father. He showed more disrespect to the way he treated her.
Pretty sure it just ended as there were still some loose ends.
Overall it's an ok series but wouldn't recommend it.
Kara Sevda (2015)
Beautiful and tragic
WARNING if you have been in a mentally abusive relationship then I don't recommend this series.
The main character is threatened neatly every episode by her disgusting husband (married him because of a secret he wound expose otherwise )and it's quite hard to watch at times.
The show is very much about lying and threatening.
The love between the main female character and her true love is just beautiful. There's other characters you will love, but of course always annoying characters that always lie their way out of everything.
Sometimes I wished the writers made her stand up to him instead of just standing there in silence.
All in all a great series.
Vuslat (2019)
Very spiritual and beautiful
I saw the low rating but decided to watch it anyway.
So glad I did. Very mysterious. I'm not a religious person at all but I found that part of the series to be beautifully done. It didnt feel like I was being preached at or trying to be converted!
I actually didn't mind that there was not one kiss from any characters, not even on the cheek! Turkish shows aren't explicit anyway so I'm used to not much action that way!!
I do feel though that it didnt properly. There was still so many things left unanswered. There is a mysterious character that I wanted to find out more about their past.
Either way I absolutely adored this series and is now my second fav after Erkensi Kuc.
Çarpisma (2018)
Great series with depth
Couldn't make up my mind to watch it or not and I'm glad I did. Great storyline with something happening each hi episode. Binged til early morning mist days.
My favorite actors Kivanc and Alperen in the same series did not disappoint. Loved the development of the characters especially Veli. He became my favorite. You couldn't help but like him in the end! I could see Veli in a spin off series!
Exceptional acting once again from Kivanc. He really makes you feel his pain.
I'm obsessed with Turkish tv shows and now added another one to my ever growing list!
Highly recommend this series.
Love from Australia.
Son Yaz (2021)
Ended too soon
What a great series.
Mainly about family and it's dynamics, which is most series. But divorce prominent in this one.
Just amazing acting especially from Alperen who played Akgün. So much emotion in that character. Really felt it for him as he just couldn't get a break. Loved his relationship with Selim. He was his protector and cared and treated him like his son. Loved the friendship between Akgün and Soner. After Akgün, Soner was my second fav character.
So many emotional scenes.
As usual in a Turkish series prominent characters get written out and never to be seen again. New ones introduced and just not the same.
The last scene I absolutely loved and the show could have easily just ended like that but the show was cancelled. A lot of of loose ends. Still so many things to be dealt with. Overall it's now my second fav show behind Erkensi Kuc.
Ramo (2020)
Wow
What a series.
Loved how Ramo and Sibel fell in love gradually and not from just 2 conversations like in some series!! It was very much family orientated which strengthened the bond between the characters.
The actress that plays Ramos mum has Alzheimer's in the show and she portrays it it just brilliantly. Some heartbreaking scenes with her not remembering things that happened. A few characters didn't stay long in the series which was a shame as it would have been interesting seeing their characters develop more.
Plenty of action and gun fights. Ramo was always one step a head and thought of everything.
Couldn't stop watching this show...highly recommend.
Erkenci Kus (2018)
Beautiful series
This was my first full Turkish series. Absolutely fell in live with this show and it's lead characters Can and Sanem. I've watched it 3 times since March!
The storyline is just so different. There's so many characters to love.
The chemistry between them was amazing, they were together in real life so that explains how authentic it was. The actors that play her parents were outstanding. Shed many tears watching this show. Highly recommend it.
Demet who plays Sanem is just so beautifully played. No wonder she won an award for the show.
Can also won an award.
It's now my all time fav show ever!
