Wtf??
9 February 2024
I don't make a habit of coming on here to rant about poor films, I prefer to just focus on writing reviews for good movies, but omg I have to warn you all - this movie was soooo bad. Just so freaking bad. I don't understand why people are rating this over 1 star. I get the whole parody of the movie, but it was just a shocker. Absolutely nothing was funny, there was such a try-hard feeling to it all. I've never ever cringed so much as I did when watching this film. Some of the lines and their delivery were just... crrrriinnggee. Over saturated gay culture and trending one liners. I sighed with relief when it ended and then questioned my life choice thinking about the time I wasted on this film. Utter garbage.

FINALLY!!
24 April 2023
I've waited a very long time for a new show to really sink my teeth in to. I binged this over 2 nights because I couldn't get enough.

I've never read the book and don't plan on. I don't want the impact of the what the show had on me to change at all.

Fantastic cast! Such a great chemistry between everyone. I never really liked Sam Claflin...until now! Wow! What a performance. And after reading how much he practised on his complete lack of vocals to quite literally become a singer, is just astounding. Great job! Camila Morrone was just gorgeous, Suki Waterhouse was enigmatic, and Riley Keough omg she is next level. I just love this woman, a seriously understated actress.

I'm really just filling space here, but all I have to really say is .... WATCH IT! I've recommended it to all my tv show critiques (aka binge companions) and I plan on watching it again.

End note- I did cry yes, and I have listened to the song "Honeycomb" way too many times already.

If you love disaster/end of world movies- STILL AVOID THIS ONE
9 November 2022
Look, I'm a huge fan of end of the world/ natural disaster crappy movies. They are usually always entertaining no matter how unrealistic they are.

But Moonfall unfortunately was utter garbage and so damn boring. AVOID AVOID AVOID

It was such a chaotic movie full of so much crap you just had to laugh, humourlessly. So much corniness too, which usually comes with these sort of movies, but this was next level. It got so bad that even the potentially cool graphics were unimpressive.

Only redeeming quality was probably John Bradley being, well, John Bradley. If you've seen GOT then you'll know what I mean. He's the lovable anti-hero as always.

Big waste of time sadly.

1/10.

How embarrassing
21 October 2022
Oh my goodness this was sooooooo bad. Utterly horrendous. Terrible actors, unrealistic, cheap production. It was awkward to watch, and I'm embarrassed for everyone involved.

I was able to handle the first part, flowers in the attic (although still a poor adaptation) but this one was a whole new level of crap.

The script and delivery of the script was so cringeworthy. I had to keep pausing it to give myself a break. Or even just to laugh at its ridiculousness.

I honestly don't know why I kept watching, I just felt I needed to finish it. And then write this review so everyone else can avoid this absolute abomination.

Um what?!
13 August 2022
I'm shocked by the amount of bad reviews. This was a really really good film. Definitely was not expecting it to be this great. It was so beautifully shot! And the music was magical. I loved the Valhalla scenes (so beautiful) and the incredibly unique scenes of the mystical tree of kings. This was just shot so incredibly well, and in the gorgeous locations of Iceland and Ireland. It was enchanting. Loved this film! Actors did great jobs too.

More beautiful each time I watch it
16 July 2022
I've lost count how many times I've watched this movie. And it never ceases to bring many tears to my eyes. It's such a beautifully shot film with a perfect cast. I always just sit and think about it when it ends, with the hauntingly beautiful "Bethena" piano piece echoing in my mind. Yes, I've used "beautiful" many times in this review, because this word just sums it all up. I think it's definitely one of my all time favourite movies.

Actually pretty boring
28 February 2022
Was looking forward to the finale, but it was just more switching between past present and the play. Sam singing was a waste of screen time. Wish there was more to the Fez situation and even Nate and his Dad. Hope next season starts off better.

Come onnnn!!??
4 February 2022
This show was just a big quagmire of race, gender and social media. I was getting so sick of it and their constant attempt to be "woke". They pulled out every "topical" card and threw it in our face. Why couldn't the show just be left alone! This isn't Sex and the City as we know it. It's a disappointing mess. 2 stars for the doco at the end to give us something to reminisce over.

That's all it is. A really wanky film jam packed with symbolism and metaphors. Especially the ending. Plus lighting so bad I could barely see what was happening in a lot of the scenes. Such a waste of time watching this rubbish.

What even was this?
5 January 2022
Disappointing end to a disappointing season. Just felt like a big filler season that was plugging the spin-offs. After the end of last season I was so excited for things to get real this season. But nope. Such a letdown. Waste of a Season.

My GOT replacement
5 January 2022
I've been needing a fantasy show like this to fill the great gaping void game of thrones left in mr. Great show, great cast, great story. And it just seems to get better and darker, which I love. The ending of season 2 has me salivating for season 3. Ughhh the wait will be hard. I'm not going to go into a great detailed explanation of the show, I'm just here to say that if you need a great dark and brutal fantasy show to swoop you away/binge on, watch The Witcher.

So disappointing :(
29 August 2021
Was looking forward to seeing this film but oh my goodness what a mess. Terrible, terrible script. So many plot holes, and eye-rolling "well that's convenient" moments. The plot twist made me groan in even more disappointment. The daughter was just plain annoying. 2 stars instead of 1 as there were a few good Jason Mamoa fight scenes. And that's it. A really low grade movie that seemed to have a bit extra cash in its budget in an attempt to make it good.

So so so bad
16 July 2021
Oh my gosh this is basically soft core porn complete with terrible acting and a terrible story line. Sooooo many extremely awkward moments that needed to be skipped. It actually got so boring I gave up after episode 5.

Don't bother.

An unexpected surprise.
20 March 2021
This movie popped up as a preview on Netflix so I gave it a go. Well, I just loved it! A really sweet film without the over-the-top unbelievable drama. As a 29year old, I loved seeing the fashion and style of that era. The cast also did so well in their roles. A simple, yet thoroughly engaging movie, that made me smile a lot. Very happy I watched this gem.

Oh gosh, so awful.
8 August 2020
I wanted to find something to like in this film, but it was just so awful. So much cringe! I didn't care for any of the characters, and the supposedly sentimental parts were just dull. Emilia Clarke has a nice signing voice, but it seems she lacks confidence as her singing parts had no soul, even in the "big finale". I usually love Emma Thompson but her fake Eastern Europe accent was again, so cringey. Not a movie I ever plan to watch again, and it definitely won't be pulled out at Christmas.

So many tears.
21 July 2020
An absolutely amazing film. I had tears non-stop throughout it. Superb acting. Baykali Ganambarr who plays Billy deserves an Oscar. My heart broke for him over and over again. And his last line in the film had me weeping (listen out for it). Aisling Franciosi also did an incredible job. Sure her character Clare was a pain in the butt at times, but really, it was an incredible role. What a film. Difficult to watch at times, truly heart-breaking. Australia has such a dark past. A reminder to us Aussie's about whose land it was, is, and always will be. Hands down a 10/10 from me.

Surprisingly enjoyable
18 July 2020
This film randomly popped up on SBS on demand and so I watched it because of the actors, not so much the synopsis. And I ended up really enjoying it! For me the movie was more about how well the actors played their parts, great acting all around, and the fantastic scenery. The storyline was so, so but it created this wonderful mood, sort of melancholic. I can't quite put my finger on it, but the film was captivating and I couldn't tear my eyes away. It's not a film for everyone, that's for sure, but I think if you are curious about it, you need to give it a go, and give it your undivided attention (without distractions) It might surprise you.

Never EVER do this again.
7 April 2020
I've been binging Grey's like crazy, glued to every episode. But this episode I just had to keep skipping scenes because of the absolute cringe factor. Just horrific! I hope they NEVER EVER turn an episode into a musical again. What the actual eff were they thinking?!

Not bad
30 December 2019
I think the trailer penned this movie as an action blockbuster, which is presumably why there are so many bad reviews as the expectations for the film were very different. I for one expected the same, but was not disappointed with what I watched. It's quite a beautiful film, visuals and storyline. There are a lot of questionable/unrealistic scenes, but it made the storyline work and flow, so why not. I particularly liked the part of the story were the Moon is now a tourist/commercial destination, depicting how humans are once again destroying anything they can get their hands on. Hopefully a movie more about this will come out soon. Over and out.

Mad Men (2007–2015)

Best show ever created
12 November 2019
I am rewatching Mad Men for the 3rd time and it still never ceases to entertain me with its utter brilliance. The wit, the character dimensions, the layers of meaning- it's so beautiful and creative. Who would have thought that a show about ad men (and women!) could pull off 7 seasons of the most superb television watching. I just got up to the acclaimed episode "the suitcase" and like every other time I viewed it, I cried. I think many people who view this episode will find personal meaning in it. The episode ends with Simon and Garfunkel's "Bleeker Street" which was the cherry on the top. A lot of the closing songs on episodes have this affect. Such a special show, with a FANTASTIC finale. Everyone needs to give it a watch.

An embarrasment
28 September 2019
I found this movie on Netflix after being in the mood for a silly teen movie. I knew it wasn't going to be great, but I didn't expect the absolute depth of it's awfulness. Actually the worse movie I have ever seen. Horrendous acting, horrendous scenarios, just absolute trash. The cringe factor is through the roof. Even if you have time to waste, don't waste it on this movie. Ugh.

Seriously Underrated!
1 September 2019
I don't understand how people have called this film boring, missed potential or lack of gore. It was actually a really good movie with plenty of gore to satisfy, without getting stupid. I watched it on a lazy Sunday not thinking too much about it, but I was sucked in from start to finish.

The kid was pure emotionless evil, and there's nothing scarier than a psychopathic kid. This was a unique "Clark Kent" story and I really hope they bring out part2 (I believe there is POTENTIAL for that).

If you love a good horror (and I'm not talking about the same old same old slasher films) then you need to watch this. Really enjoyable and I hope more people get on board.

So good! And great Plot Twist!
8 June 2019
All I can say is watch it! And if you don't "get it" read some spoiler reviews and become enlightened. I was captivated from beginning to end. So well executed with a stellar performance from newbie Clara Rugaard. A top notch film for this genre that'll I'll be recommending to everyone.

Incredible accomplishment.
2 June 2019
Complete deserving of its Oscars, this is a film that is so beautiful on so many levels. The cinematography is outstanding. The performances are brilliant. The score sinks into you deeply. I always feel so sad after watching this movie (I've seen it 3 times now). It has that incredible melancholy tone that stays with long after the film ends. Also knowing the true raw remote wilderness that this was filmed in (Argentina, Cananda) with actors and crew enduring freezing temperatures, makes this film all that more realistic and special. If you haven't yet seen this movie, you must. It will always be one of my favourites.

Thoroughly enjoyed!
1 June 2019
I think the low reviews come from people who enjoy action thrillers with over the top plot twists. This is a movie about human nature, explored in a very unique way. How would your life change if you went blind then could suddenly see again many years later after moving on with life? This is not a faced paced film, but instead hooks you in with beautiful details, a constant subtle suspense, and a unique filming point of view. Blake Lively is captivating and says so much with little words. Completely underrated and unappreciated. Open you mind, and eyes, and give this film a go.
