Good Behavior (2016–2017)

VERY Well written.
8 November 2022
I really enjoyed this show. The strongest point is the writing. The dialog and the way the characters interact is very believable. Not as sappy / depressing as some popular dramas are. I don't enjoy that.. This has realistic conversations that you can imagine having with someone.

The scenes that need it have the right amount of emotions mixed with humor, facial expressions and body language. I guess its well acted and skillfully directed. Well shot too!

All of those mean you are drawn in.

Michelle Dockery is pretty freaking great here.. I didn't watch this show when it first ran and I'm sorry about that. It deserved a longer run for sure.

Annihilation (I) (2018)

Raises questions, Answers? none
9 October 2018
Lots of interesting questions and situations. However I thought the writers were unable to present a solid reason for what transpires. You watch the rather interesting and well designed scenes and scenery/CGI and see new pieces of the original puzzle come together waiting for the complete explanation, but it is incomplete and takes a very long time to unfold in the last 20 minuted of the movie.

And there is un necessary and unneeded gore.. Suddenly and without and purpose...then it's gone...

One character tries so hard to emotionless and tough that it's comical... her tone of voice is like a Sgt. Friday (Dragnet) imitation..

Average.

Too many obvious logic issues - totally predictable
9 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Really shallow characters who make stupid decisions that are so obvious it will make you angry.. You will yell at the screen...

Let's see. You figure out the creature goes to "Sleep" without oxygen yet it scrambles around the outside of the spacecraft for minutes seemingly with no end to its boundless energy..

You start burning boosters to try to kill it, THEN you realize your using all your fuel. BTW: the gauges on the booster "sensors" look like the temperature gauge in a 1955 DeSoto..

Two of the three remaining crew the creature scurrying about on a screen blueprint of the ship like Pacman because it must of swallowed a tracking sensor. So you stand and watch it instead of running to get your only other crew mate, hiding in his sleeping pod, and bring him to be with you in relative safety.. Stand around and chat instead..

There are many more... Awful...

Jack Reacher (2012)
1/10
Some of the worst acting ever....
10 May 2017
The steely, unwavering toughness Tom Cruise was trying to exude here came off as "I'm cool ain't I"

There was nothing genuine in any scene with him in it..

He's no Bruce Willis. Jason Stratham, Tommy Lee Jones, even somewhat uncharismatic Liam Neeson, heck any of the guys in The Expendable series or Reds are way more fun to watch than this.

We thought "It's Friday night!. Pop some popcorn and let's try Jack Reacher.."

We couldn't watch the whole movie.. The T-shirt scene was particularly painful to watch.. I felt embarrassed for him and more so for Rosamund...

Just awful..

The King of Queens: Awful Bigamy (2004)
Season 6, Episode 24

Doug walks by Carrie in the office on the way downstairs
9 April 2009
The first day Doug lingers at the office room door after asking Carrie if she is coming down for Breakfast...He tells Carrie he doesn't want to sit alone and have to talk with Holly while eating breakfast. Carrie finally senses he is still at the doorway and says in a very funny Carrie-ism "OK baby, what do we have here"

Then he goes down and Holly and him Hit it off, big time.

The next day he walks into the office and cheerfully asks Carrie if she is coming down for breakfast and hurries out when she says "No". He goes down and Holly has all kinds of food..She asks him "Do you want Pancakes, eggs and hand cut Bacon?" Doug replies: "Yes, Yes and Hell Yes"

The next day we see Carrie sitting in the office.. Doug barely turns as he breezes by and mumbles "Coming down for dinner?"... and he's gone.. That scene cracked me up so bad.......

Columbo: A Friend in Deed (1974)
Season 3, Episode 8

The best twist at the end of ANY Columbo Episode
22 September 2007
Warning: Spoilers
The twist at the end when they all go to Jessup's "apartment" led by The Killer, the Deputy Commissioner, is the best twist I ever saw.. This was really a great episode, and Richard Kiley was outstanding.

When Columbo turns to Jessup and says "They say that they found these jewels in your apartment" You expect one of 2 things to happen.. For Jessup to say: "I wouldn't steal those, they're fake!" For the officer Columbo called in with him to say:"I saw you come in here and plant them Commissioner" But you do NOT expect Columbo to reveal it is HIS apartment... That was perfect... I love when he says "These are My underwear" and holding up a picture "This is MY brother-in-law"

The Twist also about the Jewelery being sold for fakes was a good plot twist.

The only "Bug" was, that they didn't check the phone companies records to see what number Caldwell called after killing his wife..
