Shanghai Knights (2003)
one kick ass funny flick
Shanghai knights is the latest edition of the fantastic duo, Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson, and what more can you ask from a duo. With Wilson's dry wit and Chan pulling the punches it'll keep you attached to your seat for the whole film. With enough English personas to make you curious if how much homework the writers really did to make the script funny. As usual Owen Wilson's dry sadistic humour comes through a charm and Jackie Chan's fight sequences are brilliant. This movie is a must-see and if you haven't seen the first one yet, Shanghai Noon, then get to the shops and buy it.
Gossip (2000)
Sleek and Stylish
A new look on the whole dramatic thriller genre. The film has a sleek and stylish approach on the whole film genre. It was a gripping tale with a very suprising twist. I enjoyed this film the whole way through. A cool and excitng cast with great and devoloped characters that made the film what it was. They can't top this film with any sequals or any copy scripts it's original and will always be original in my opinion. 10/10
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
Lord Of Adventure
Lord of the rings promised adventure beyond our wildest beliefs and in my opinion the film kept to that promise. With state of the art special effects and costume designs that look exceptionally real brings the middle earth epic alive. How can any one not like this film is beyond me. I love everything about it from hobbit to elf, from the ring to the ring raiths, and bad hair cuts to great acting cast. For me my favourite character was Pippin. He was, what i felt to be, the funniest hobbit I will ever see. Frodo was also among my faves along with Legolas. I hope the next two installments of this film is as good as the first. Any way I am glad to give this fantastic adventure fantasy film a 10 out of 10.
Jeepers Creepers (2001)
A fair comment on a fairly bad movie
To be truthful there was not much I enjoyed about this movie. Actually I think there was only one real thing I enjoyed about it and that was the license plate. BEATINGU. Took me about a minute and a half to figure out it said B EATING U. I admit I was slow on the uptake but it kept me interested for that minute and a half.
It was very hard to keep focused on the film itself. I found the plot boring. The fiend as scary as the demon of the week on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The tune was as old as the dinosaurs. I just really couldn't get into the film. No offense to the people who enjoyed it though. But I would rather listen to VH1 classic than watch it again.
Slackers (2002)
An overall good film
Slackers was a good film comedy but it wasn't one of those wet yourself with laughter films. It was too romantic, I do like a romantic comedy but this film focused more on the romance when the main focus of the film should have really been on the comedy. Except for that the film was good.
A film with an excellent cast, an excellent plot and an excellent script (except for the romance). But even with all those excellent's it still wasn't good enough for excellent review that is why I'm only giving it an 8 out of 10.
Did you see the adverts with the monkeys,it made me cry with laughter. =0)
Valentine (2001)
It just gets better!!!
When I first heard about Valentine and what it was about the first thing that came in my head was the I Know What You Did Last Summer. Which I was not a big fan of. But I couldn't resist the temptation of a fresh new horror with a cool new cast, aswell as a clever and well thought out taglines.
As I watched the film I got more and more into it. The plotline was smart, not original but very smart. The film had more horror than the whole Scream Trilogy(Which I love aswell). On top of that it had a new and promising cast, a new type of mask to hide the face of the killer which was just fantabulous.
Has a gripping beginning, a hide behind the couch middle, with a surprising and suspenseful twist at the end. Which all comes together to form a whole new level of scary.
Jamie Blanks just keeps making slashers more and more better than the last. What can I say except "It Just Gets Better!!!"
