Inspired from V Shantaram's Do Aankhen barah haath
8 April 2024
It's a tribute to legendary film maker V shantaram's 1957 Hindi film Do Aankhen 12 haath. Story is the same and Hera the hero also has Shantaram in his name. The film also specially mentions the year as 1957.

Do Aankhen............ ...... had won a silver at Caan film festival. It remains a classic even today. However, despite good performance by the lead actor and others, the film isn't impactful. This can be blamed on the director and script writer. While Do Aankhen ....... ....inspired Dirty Dozen of Hollywood, this movie simply ends up as a bleak one. I being a huge fan of Malayalam movies was thoroughly disappointed by the treatment given to this movie.

Fill of fun and excellent dialogue in a simple story woven with beautiful screenplay. Each memeber of the cast has contributed to this fun journey.

A beautiful film

I am a great fan of Dhulia's as a story teller as well as actor. His Hasil, charas, shagird, Sahib bibi and gangster sries, Pansingh Tomar, all movies are out of ordinary. This movie doesn't disappoint at all. Loved it, All the four leads, especially Vijay Verma and Kenny were brilliant. I would watch it again!

A wonderful experience!

This is an exceptional movie. Can't believe the fact that such an authentic movie on Garhwal is a foreign production " Victor Banerji has once again proved that he is among the greatest actors. His body language, diction are unbelievably Garhwali. The ensemble cast is superb. Gitanjali Thapa and VK Sharma and Shalini Sunderiyal are gems. Hats off to the Serbians for producing this poetry on celluloid.

Beautiful movie

Its a well made movie, Dev Anand's last such movie. It shows the plight of the illegal immigrants and was well ahead of its times. Dev Anand was superb in this movie, especially in the scene where he tries to convince the Asian immigrants that he is one for them by putting his hand on the lamp. The filming of the beautiful song "TOO pee " is one of the best choreographed songs ever in Bollywood. The camera angles in a crowded pub were just incredibly brilliant. It was Tina Munims debut also and what a debut it was! she looks beautiful and competent in this movie> Pran and Ajit also acquit themselves well by giving competent performances.

A must see for all
