The Fall Guy (2024)
Loved the movie
First time experience in IMAX theatre and totally loved the experience.
The team knows how to make the movies and what the audience wants. Excellent mix of action and comedy with some well placed emotional scenes.
Good screenplay and the story kept on moving with periodic comedic scenes.
Ryan Gosling performed effortlessly and Emily Blunt was simply great. Other actors also did well and the humour showed well in their characters and dialogues.
Many of the scenes can be fully relatable to the boys and young men. Still the movie gave away a few messages.
I waited and wanted to watch this movie and I suggest you too watch it in the best way possible.
Romeo (2024)
This Romeo wasn't like one
I was misled by the poster; expected that this movie would be a comedic journey of husband and wife. But Romeo was a film within a film which is too filmy to be true.
The intentions of the crew and director is not wrong. They wanted to give a movie which empowers the relationship between a married couple the strength of positivity as good words. But they forgot that life is not just that and contains many more emotions, feelings and actions.
Yogi Babu and VTV Ganesh delivered their usuals. Mirnalini Ravi performed well. The songs were average. A good kuthu/rap song could have been fitted well. Would have been a great comeback of his mid-2000s like chartbuster songs.
Sam Bahadur (2023)
Full rating to watch this movie
I have given 10 on 10 for the first time!
Amazing character. Realistic portrayal.
Vicky Kaushal fits very well in the role. Fatima Sana Sheikh did a very good job too. Good to watch these artists perform well.
Sanya and others also just rely on performing good roles and not on commercial aspect of the movies. Happy to see these kinds of movies coming in.
Was totally inspired by the man, the leader, Sam Bahadur Manekshaw. We see people and strive to become like them but this man has no one even near to equal.
Great example for valiance, courage, liveliness and humour. Even being 10% of what he is will make all of us successful.
Madgaon Express (2024)
A laughter express
I was impressed by the efforts taken by Kunal Kemmu and team making his their directorial debut a entertaining one.
The comedy scenes worked and I laughed out loud at many instances. The nuances were worked out too. There were some hidden comics too.
Everything is meant to be funny and light that is why I think movie was good to watch.
Pratik Gandhi never disappoints and it is Divyenndu's speciality to perform such roles.
The details of the location and characters was well planned. I think the cast and crew knew exactly at which level the movie should be placed and avoided over glamour and emotion.
Overall well done and is a great watch for this long weekend.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Everyone can watch!
The beginning is catchy. And the set up is good. I felt the story moved a little slowly for the first 15 minutes. But it made up well and I did not realise the time at all in the later stages.
This multiverse movie is very convincing due to the logic that each universe is a alternate form of us based on trees of decision which we took.
It has many visually amazing scenes, artistic clothing and well made comedy. The screenplay showed all kinds of emotion and gave facts about life. It very well captured that nothing matters and at the same time the people who mean to us make the whole universe.
Everyone should watch it.
Shaitaan (2024)
Shaitaan could have been better
I went to watch this movie solely because of R. Madhavan. His acting, expressions, dialogue delivery and screen presence is amazing.
However, the movie could have started with a goal or a background story of why he is doing this which would have made it more interesting to watch whether he will succeed or not.
All the cast including Jyotika, Ajay Devgn and the girl performed well. Their eyes talked so much.
At times the audience could feel the pain the family faces from the intervention of the villain and his evil intentions.
The last few minutes were good to watch however it was not watchable throughout.
You can wait for the OTT release.
Vithaikkaran (2024)
Good attempt
Went to watch this movie because it is a suspense thriller genre and the teaser looked good.
The first few minutes were really engaging. Thought that it would carry the same tone. Instead there was some comedy and theft scenes. Those were directorially well done.
The humour actually made us laugh especially the Anand Raj's part. Also, I was happy to watch some well known minor artists returning to cinema.
The run time of the movie was just a little over 2 hours, yet the second half felt a little long. Maybe the script went into too many details and directions.
Overall, an average watch. Watching this movie may not require a theater, but if you want to watch something on the big screen, not a bad option.
As I Am Suffering from Kadhal (2017)
Refreshing and Informative Watch
This series was long pending in my watch list. One of the first Originals from Hotstar.
Very well written characters and cast. Even though many were new faces there was immaturity in acting. The crew beautifully portrayed different situations of love and relationship conditions in this series of episodes.
The presentation was beautiful, every episode beginning with a interview mode of character reveal and then the story goes on. Comedy was very organic and there is something to laugh for in every episode.
The camaraderie and screen presence of Santosh and Meera was a treat to watch.
No doubt, everyone should add it to their list.
Siren (2024)
You would watch this film even if you thought otherwise.
Because,.. I went to a cineplex to watch another film, but couldn't get a show. So, we watched this movie. There was no expectations but somehow it felt engaging and the show was good.
Yogi Babu made the movie more watchable with his comical presence. Keerthy Suresh had a good cop role who could actually use her brain well, but she too faces typical Indian women situation as seniors do not listen to her much.
Anupama was beautiful to watch so was Yuvitha. Both of them have a great career to follow.
Overall the movie is not boring to watch. There is some level of suspense and thankfully no unwanted action sequences.
Fighter (2024)
Good watch for new audience
I did not expect anything much from this movie since this is Bollywood. But still I went for it because there is Hrithik Roshan and the fighter jet scenes could excite us.
The jet visuals were good to watch though the CGI could have been better as always. The characters were little dark even though everything was shown I was unable to connect with the vibes.
The part where Ashutosh Rana comes was really good, he spoke less but his acting showed the emotions very well. Also the Sharib Hashmi scene was lovely to watch.
There were many instances of flying team celebrations shown in the movie, I don't know if it really happens, but I'm happy that the flying training at AFA, Hyderabad was shown the same as in the reality.
12th Fail (2023)
12th Fail has passed as a good movie
The movie was bound to succeed right from its inception being a biopic of a UPSC achiever. But, there were more layers added via the story settings, cast and dialogues.
Vikrant Massey is becoming a critically acclaimed actor and good directors like Vidhu Vinod Chopra are only helping him.
All co actors played their role very well. Specially the rich friend who could not clear the exams at any attempts.
The unwavering mindset and strength of the accomplished officers was correctly shown. And this gives public the sense that why getting the coveted post of IAS is not easy to get.
Must watch film.
Tiger 3 (2023)
Entertaining watch if you do!
Salman Khan actually has a big fan base. At least Tiger franchise is doing good.
The story is not hard to guess.
The action sequences were nice to watch. It was not overly physics defying. The extended cameo by SRK was a huge shouting fest in the theatres. What an year he is having!
Bhai has a unique way of delivering his dialogues and that is what makes me watch him.
Emraan Hashmi as a villain never looked threatening, but the crew tried their best to show him evil. Ridhi Dogra's role could have been longer in acting point of view.
Revathi did her role well so did other co-actors like Kumud Mishra.
Overall, a great movie to watch with family if you like to.
Salaar: Cease Fire - Part 1 (2023)
Scenes, BGM and a few dialogues
Watched a Prabhas movie for the first time in theater.
Consistently Hombale production films has a dark theme.
The movie has a good story. All actors have a well designed look. The locations are also apt for this war like movie.
There a quite a few mass scenes. Music and background score not bad, I liked the title theme music the most.
I doubted the inclusion of Shruti Haasan in the movie, but then realised since there is not much of a hard acting role, she is enough.
Many co-actors like Mime Gopi, John Vijay, Bobby Simha did perform well.
I felt that Prithviraj was very highly suppressed in this part 1 movie. He could have been given at least half a strong role Prabhas was given. Hope the parts coming further will make it a exciting watch.
Leo (2023)
Not very Leo
I was expecting the unbelievable song Bloody Sweet to be featured somewhere in the movie, but it wasn't to be.
The first half was better of the two ones. Of course this time there was a little more extracted from Vijay's acting skills instead of just glamour looks and slo-mo.
Songs were good and the Anirudh BGM for which many people opt theater was good too.
I think there were too many action sequences, could have trimmed some and the car chase could have been improved.
Visual graphics: Thankfully the Hyena scenes were acceptably good, but the car chasing and fighting scene was a total letdown. It looks like Lokesh and team just wanted to get away with it and fast forwarded it.
I believe even if you a good story, plot and screenplay, if you are portraying the scenes like this will not entertain the people, the very reason they come for and pay.
I don't know why they casted someone like Anurag Kashyap only to shoot him away. Could have delivered a few good dialogues and screen presence. Same with Madonna.
Overall, if you want to watch, you can. But you don't need to watch this movie.
Mark Antony (2023)
SJ Suryah's Show
A time travel movie differently portrayed, where the actual person does not move, but can influence the present by calling anyone in the past. Easy to understand if you pay attention in the first half an hour. I was looking forward to SJ Suryah's performance and it was absolute fun to watch him. The dialogue delivery and energy he brought lit up the screen. Many good comedy scenes and references to previous movies was aptly placed. The gun scene at the climax looked repetitive like other gangster movies and felt mediocre, otherwise the movie is a great watch. A good watch can be seen at the theaters.
Subhedar (2023)
Subhedar is Raw and Real
Watched a Marathi movie for the first time! And it is a good experience. The characters portrayed and the history behind all of them was very good to watch and receive. Everyone who watched the movie knew the story so there was no scope to mistell it and the director did well. Unlike some other film industry directors there was not much of flaunting of stardom. At parts there should have been more lighting in the film due to poor lighting we couldn't get the real essence of the scene. Anyway, overall a good watch. The emotions at the second half are well placed. Action scenes are realisitic and there is love everywhere.
Jailer (2023)
Nelson's Jailbreak Jailer
After the failure of Beast, I was a little skeptical when I heard Nelson is making Jailer with Rajnikanth. The director is good, thinks new and uses black comedy, but it should sit well with Rajnikanth. Maybe he did a better study this time and the way he showed Rajni in this movie justifies why he is still the superstar! The calmness, the chivalry and the style he carries is a treat to his fans. There are many massy scenes where whole of the theatre was screaming even after 8 days of release that too in Pune. The cameos played by Mohan Lal (Lalletan), Jackie Shroff, Shiva Rajkumar were all excellent!
Once again it is Anirudh who steals most part of the movie with resonating and strong BGM. Good comedy scenes with Yogi Babu too.
Overall you should watch this movie in theater.
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023)
Rocky and Rani Rocks
If you just want to go and enjoy a movie which will give you some good laughter and a few whistling scenes. This will be one of them.
It also gives some messages to the audience. Just like all other movies you can keep your criticism outside the hall for 3 hours and live the movie. Don't think about the story and or it has a predictive repetitive screenplay.
Songs are good. The inclusion of Kathak dance was very heartening to see. Some social stigmas and presumptions were broken. Normally people with rich background will like this movie.
Overall you can watch it in the theatres unless you don't want to.
Jawan (2023)
Joyous Jawan
If you are new to slow motion cuts, then this movie is a good introduction. Shah Rukh Khan looks so very charming in this movie and also has a badass double role version. Story is predictable but the screenplay is worth watching with some great action scenes and good little comedies here and there. Songs are very well placed and Deepika's part will emotionally melt everyone. Vijay Sethupathi role was not very impactful like the Master movie if you have watched it. Other female characters also had a considerable screen time which was nice to watch. Overall if you are a person who watches Indian cinema with a enjoying mindset then this movie is for you!
