The Comments Section with Brett Cooper (2022)
Used to love Bret until her LOTRs videos
I was once a subscriber on Brett Cooper's channel on the Comment Section since her start at the Daily Wire, and I used her discount codes to get gifts for loved ones. However, after watching how Bret treated/behaved with the LOTRs movies last year on the Comments Section and her total phone addiction made me disgusted that I decided to leave her channel.
I'm sure Bret is a really nice person but her immaturity, Gen-Z behavior, and lack of awareness at times turns off people.
I tolerated her flaws since she reach the 1 million mark on YouTube early last year and I was partly glad she & her staff did acknowledge her flaws yet as time went by the major stardom at the DW has truly gotten to Bret's head. The griefing machine of DW has slowly eroded some of her support as well seeing how she's taking some stances that might be controversial with her viewers.
The Comments Section with Brett Cooper: Brett Watches Lord Of The Rings For The FIRST Time! (2022)
Brett Cooper & The Power of the Phone
I was once a subscriber on Brett Cooper's channel on the Comment Section since her start at the Daily Wire, and I used her discount codes to get gifts for loved ones.
I also deeply love the original LOTRs trilogy despite its many flaws and the current actors who played the characters who have different views to my personal opinions. However, I was still honestly excited to see Brett watch a legendary piece of filmmaking history until her immaturity & political views turned their ugly head.
Within minutes of watching this video, Brett's behavior was getting incredibly annoying to experience despite her colleague's knowledge of the films. Her lack of or misunderstanding of companionship/comradeship was Brett's first significant negative flag for this video, and her comments stated that any male relationship/connection is considered "gay."
Many people on YouTube and other formats, including myself, were appalled by these comments from Brett, and things would only get much worse after this.
Ms. Cooper, throughout the critical scenes of this film (including the two sequel movies of the trilogy later on her channel), spent tons of her time on her mobile device/phone and ignored the film despite the video title was her "watching LOTRs for the first time." Many videos on YouTube have ordinary people (Popcorn in Bed, etc.) reacting to many movies and TV-related content to allow their audience to enjoy movies while developing emotional and personal connections with their subscribers. Yet, Ms. Cooper & the DailyWire need help to understand this new online concept as they failed for this viewing of LOTRs.
Lastly, Ms Cooper, towards the end of the film, did the usual laughing at Boromir's death scene, and some Comments Section subs weren't happy with how Brett handled that scene.
I know that many people have made memes of this scene on social media and that LOTR haters laugh at how Sean Bean's character dies, but this was a minor consequence versus the other two issues I have mentioned regarding Ms. Cooper since that is a broad pop culture divide among many people including millennials. The only primary offense is how Ms. Cooper should have correctly known who Sean Bean was.
In conclusion, Ms. Cooper did address the feedback from her reaction to Boromir's scene, yet she failed to address the other issues by her viewers that I have mentioned above.
In The Two Towers, her addiction to her phone took over the whole show, and many people called her out on it simply because she heavily disrespected the content she was supposed to watch for her beloved viewers. Ms. Cooper and DW failed to acknowledge the comments regarding her behavior, and they repeated the same issues in Part 3 of the LOTRs; The Return of the King.
However, the DW potentially saw the feedback and decided to cut off tons of footage from Return of the King due to scheduling conflicts during the Christmas holiday.
Likely, Ms. Cooper wanted to move on despite the negative imagery this whole series did on her reputation, and that she wanted to head back home fast for the holidays. Ultimately, this new pop culture YouTube trend only suits Brett Cooper well once she understands the concepts & internet decorum better.
Many other people out there online respect the content they first want to watch and respond better to their viewers than Brett Cooper did for this beloved movie trilogy. To Ms. Cooper, as your motto says, "Be Better".
