I Care a Lot (2020)

I wanted to like it...
26 February 2021
I wanted to like it, the cast looks solid, but besides the fact that none of the characters are likable at all, making poor, incomprehensible choices all along, the plot is full of holes... and the music is dreadful (if you're just gonna use 80s style synths, could they at least be in tune?!) My ratings tend to be generous and that's the case here, too with 5/10...

Seen shorter "to the point" versions of this tragic story
12 February 2021
Tragic story, but this show really dragged it out, stretched into 4 episodes what could be told in 1. Start with editing out all those internet folks' opinions that drag on and on. Not one of them actually knew her in person...

the music ruins it
20 January 2021
I'd rate this show a lot higher if it weren't for the choice of music. The aesthetic is simply ruining it. I get it, using the music they want to tell the story in a contemporary way. I wish they didn't, because several times per episode the ridiculous 21st century party music absolutely ruins it.

An Elisabeth Shue Marvel!
26 July 2020
I have been a fan of Elisabeth Shue since her 1989 and 1990 Back to the Future appearances and follow her career closely, but I must say this is an Oscar-worthy performance if I've ever seen one! I don't want to spoil this movie for anyone, but I will say that the depth of her character shook me to the bones, I've never seen anything like it! Pay close attention to the scenes with her and make sure to watch all the way until the end of the credits.
