Violy Gets Grounded: The Series (2019)
An animated series very ahead of its time during the pandemic
This series was considered one of the best that Daniel Fuenmayor Ledesma has done, not only because of the plot that is very clear, but because of the reality that some young people like Violy Anderson are experiencing, who suffers domestic violence from her aunt Emma and her stepfather Ferdinand Devlin, without knowing that her biological parents were Giselle Anderson and Larry Zepeda who were lost since 2003, the date when Violy was stolen by her aunt, away from her mother. Violy, already a teenager, confused and discarded from reality, later found out that Emma and Ferdinand are not her biological parents. Since she saw the episode where Violy was admitted to a psychological hospital in October 2020, she relatively changed her personality over time with the support of her real mother, Perla and Nick Riviera. The ending was epic but it is no justification for them to create a scene over the issue of Violy's parents.
Gustav Gets Grounded: The New Karen (2024)
Pretty fun typical of Francisco Ortiz
The episode was quite fun compared to the previous 2021 version, it is the best remake that Daniel has done. To begin with, he did very well at the beginning of the episode, where Gustav wakes up and leaves his bedroom to take a bath. The scenery was very well done, the animations and the expressions of the characters improved a lot unlike the previous version which was quite pessimistic. The funniest thing was that Gustav turned into Karen, the almost short blonde haircut refers to people called 'Karen' since they exist every day in the United States.
Another scene was when Gustav explodes his anger, with a chibi look (typical of Japanese animations like anime) it was quite funny, I think Francisco Ortiz, the storyboarder and scene writer did quite well for that. But, what bothered me the most was when Gustav cries and the voice of one of the most hated on the internet, Nicokado Avocado, appears, it is quite irritating to listen to it.
Gustav Gets Grounded (2024)
I think it improved the quality of the series.
Unlike the previous original series, the first two episodes that I saw during the premiere were much improved, the scenery, the music and the script were improved. The storyboards that Francisco Ortiz made in June 2021, which even though it was rejected by the creator, where Gustav throws a chibi-style tantrum (reference from a Japanese animation) was quite fun as usual. Another episode improved where Gustav pretended to be sick, the scene where Gustav laughs so much where a Roblox or Minecraft video appears in a parody of 'Take On Me' like 'MINE DIAMONDS!' It was quite funny, it seems that Francisco applied pure comedy. Excellent job for Daniel, especially Francisco who improved the quality of the series. I give them a 10 out of 10 rating.
