The Strangers (2008)
Perfect Horror In A Certain Way
As the title says this a perfect horror movie in its own way. I couldn't finish it was honestly to scared by the time James comes home. So I watched it in snippets over sometime. But it's terrifying, the subtlety is The worst part in a good way. The shot where the masked man is behind her but she doesn't see it is so scary. And the scariest part isn't that it's based off a real a story(kinda). It's that The Strangers just want to torture and scare their victims, but because they were home. It's realistic something that could happen to you, your friend, your cousin and to me. The way they scare them and try to keep them there for a full night and then kill them(or not for Kristen)just because. And those kids finding everything made me think what I'd do if I found this.
Titans (2018)
Mixed Feelings
Right, so I'm going to list the things I didn't like first and then what I did like. So something I have to say is that this is a messy portrayal of the DC universe. One of my problems is, people like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, Green Arrow are in this universe they have confirmed this many a time. But they do not explore these elements at all. We don't properly see Batman and when we kinda do he kills and that was just dream. But when we see him as an allusion he's just a dick but when we properly see the real Bruce Wayne he kills the Joker off screen. Now I know what you're thinking "This is a Titans show not a Justice League show." Now I get that but the amount of times they tease these characters you at least except a proper cameo. Now the Titans aren't just friends their family, they missed that within miles, the first two seasons they were all at each others throats with brief periods of friendship or they're disbanded. Then in 3 they seem to all be happy but the. Guess what they disband again. And in four again everyone seems happy until yet again they disband. The next things is it goes way to quick, like we can't experience the things that matter because they're doing a whole can of side missions at the same time. Now DC as a whole is supposed to be inspiring but I'm not inspired by these characters at all, maybe I'm slightly inspired by Dick becoming his own person at the end of two but that's wasted at the end of three. And maybe inspired how Tim became Robin but otherwise I'm not inspired. But now down to the positives apart from Tim and Bruce these castings are absolutely perfect. The designs apart from Blackfire are all perfect. And the writing is generally ok. I do enjoy the great choreographed fight scenes. Overall the show had its ups and downs I would recommend this to someone but only if they had a certain taste in TV and comic books.
Free Guy (2021)
Hot take: My favourite movie
It's my favourite movie all the actors do such a great job. Apart from one scene the CGI is absolutely beautiful. It's obviously based on one of the best Video Games ever: GTA V. It shows how people get obsessed with games and it only takes one great guy to change all of that. It was funny, romantic and action packed. Ryan Reynolds in those hilarious action sequences are the best part of it. Guys clone: Dude is hilarious and cool and one of the most enjoyable scenes. I can't find a single reason not to like this movie. Maybe because of its cliche ending but I like it I think it suits the film.
The Mean One (2022)
So much wasted potential
So: The concept of a Grinch horror movie is brilliant. And something that seems simple to write and cast. I felt like I was watching a fan film, the audio, cinematography, effects and even just writing in general is nothing but pathetic. The Grinch costume was surprisingly very good. And I know where the budget went for a camera so they used an iPhone 2 instead. And the Grinch is best looking person in the movie. I don't normally judge people on looks but about 97% of them are very hard to look at. Again the idea of a grinch horror movie is astounding but they ruined it very easily. I thought the first scene would be an interesting one from seeing the trailer, it was actual dog 💩. The best scene was the bar scene, but even that had bad cinematography.
