I feel like a lot of people lack media literacy because why did you think that a musical adaptation... not a reboot... would be a carbon copy and better than the source material that it is derived from?

This movie was fun, and I think a lot of people are just haters. Obviously it was not gonna be like the original... get a grip.

PROS

• it's actual funnier than I expected
• cinematography is pretty good
• choreography is nice to look at
• Regina George and Janice carried vocally

CONS

• The actress who plays Cady is not a good singer or actress
• They made Karen soo extremely dumb it was sad to look at
• I feel like the movie tried to be too Gen Z sometimes.

As a massive fan of the book and the movie, I had very high expectations for this adaptation!

And I believe they were met- the acting is great, the musical numbers were tasteful, and I almost shed a tear here and there. It was a good book adaptation and the song choices were great. I never actually watched the musical so I'm not sure how it compares to the theatre version, but I recommend this movie as a fan.

Overall, it's a great adaptation with a very talented cast!

The only minus for me was Mr's redemption, which the movie focused on too much, particularly towards the end. Not everyone needs a redemption arc!

Wow... I did not expect this movie to be as incredible as it was!

As a Pole raised in England, I haven't touched bases with a lot of Polish literature. But this movie (based off of the Nobel Prize nominated book) was a great experience.

Not only is it beautifully made and animated, the story was extremely tragic and real.

All of the characters are greatly developed, the plot is enticing, and the music is just perfect.

I would recommend this movie to everyone, Polish or not. Not only is it insight and commentary on past Poland, but also on masculinity, femininity, class, and community.

The movie is directed beautifully. The battle scenes are extremely impressive and made very very well.

The performances are also great. Joaquin in particular is an amazing actor and definitely the highlight of the movie. Vanessa is also really good and I enjoyed her acting performance. Their storyline though? I'm not sure if it flowed as well as I wanted it to. At some moments, it low-key felt like the film was about their relationship?

The story overall felt a bit shallow. Was it to show only highlights of Napoleon's life? Was it to emphasise his love for his ex wife? His love for his country? It all felt a bit all over the place at times.

At the beginning, it wasn't necessarily that engaging. But around the halfway mark, it started getting really interesting.

My favourite characters were the King and Queen- they were the most developed and the best singers haha.

But there were a few things that I didn't like.

First off, the art style is quite odd? It feels like Disney went backwards- it feels quite stiff and a bit uncanny, especially at the beginning.

The main characters voice also isn't the best- the singing and the music wasn't very compelling. Maybe except the last song.

The post credit scene is cute tho! After seeing the very long credits haha.
