In this episode, the writers introduce and define the term 'Harsesis'.

Harsesis is a child of 2 Goa'uld hosts.
This child holds all the secrets of the Goa'uld.
The genetic memory that the Goa'uld have in their DNA is passed down to their human offspring.
Because of this, Haresis child are hunted down and killed by the Goa'uld.

Wizard of Oz References
The executive producer, Johathan Glassner, started using 'The Wizard of Oz (1939)' references in a couple of his scripts. Richard Dean Anderson caught onto that and loved it. It became kind of a game for them to see how many Wizard of Oz references they could stick into the scripts.
They used a Wizard of Oz reference in Season 2, Episode 11: 'The Tok'ra - Part 1' when Jack O'Neil comes out of the Stargate and says 'Ah, where's that yellow brick road when you need it eh Dorothy?' Then another one shows up in Season 2, Episode 21 '1969' with Jack saying "Auntie Em, Auntie Em".
As you watch (or re-watch) the series, try to see how many Wizard of Oz reference you can find.

Colonel Jack O'Neill's Catch Frase
When alternate Sam is being interrogated after teleporting to area 51 from an alternate reality, she says, "Oh, for crying out loud". This is a catch phrase coined by 'Colonel Jack O'Neill' (qv) early in the series.
Having characters that are close to O'Neil say this line seems to be a common theme with the writers. They also did this in season 2, episode 20, "Show and Tell" when a boy shows up genetically engineered by the Re-Tu. The boy is not feeling well but people keep stopping in his room. When O'Neil is in the room more people come in, he says "For crying out loud".
