Road, Movie (2009)
Brilliant- Main tujhe Mard banata hoon
Just came back from watching this movie and realized why Robert DeNero wanted these guys to send him a DVD of the movie. The movie is brilliant. The story is nicely written, the direction and cinematography is superb and the background score could not have been better. Now to the important part, the actors. Mr Benegal got together an excellent cast for the movie and they don't disappoint. Abhay Deol, as usual is awesome. Satish Kaushik and Yashpal Sharma, seasoned actors do their part well, but adding to this was the excellent performance by Mohammed Faisal(the boy) and Tannishtha Chatterjee. And the reason I am ranting about the actors is that there is one scene in the movie which could have either made or broke a masterpiece.
This movie is a masterpiece. Go watch it.

Up (2009)
Up, up and away
We keep hearing 'Pixar does it again!' (and they do always do it again), but they really have touched a new high with Up. No one, and I mean no one can tell a story like the guys at Pixar (Toy Story, Incredibles, Finding Nemo, WALLE to name a few) and now Up. This has to be the best animated movie I have ever seen and one of the most romantic (yes, romantic!) movie ever made. Carl Fredricksen, the 78 year old (or in this case young) balloon vendor turns out to be the surprising hero of the act, where, among other things, he saves himself from all the things that were pulling him down because of the recent events in his life. He goes on an adventure, and boy, does he have one.
The movie is (due to the lack of a better word) awesome! The expressions, the dialogues and the timely and very aptly put humor along with extremely good direction and voice by the actors make this movie as good as any can be. (The background music at the beginning sets the tone for the whole movie) I can go on and on about this movie. But I'll shut up after saying just one more thing. If you haven't seen the movie, do it. If you have, watch it again.
