Armed & Famous (2007)
Celebrities doing REAL work!
Armed and Famous is a version of COPS with reserve officers who are celebrities instead of sworn officers. It takes place in Muncie, Indiana (a former hometown of mine) and involves real situations.
They are under the supervision of full-time sworn officers and have been through the required training to be reserve officers for the Muncie Police Department. In fact, they do have legal arresting powers as any other officer of the law.
There are some "personal dramas" that occurred during the show that could have been better off on the cutting room floor, but all in all, it is the same show as COPS.
The Dukes of Hazzard (2005)
Not for the kids!
I enjoyed watching the Dukes of Hazzard movie but in order for anyone to watch it, you must forget everything you know about the TV show (maybe except for names).
All of the characters are very different in their behaviors. The Duke Boys swear A lot and still running moonshine and Rosco isn't the meathead that is portrayed on the show. Daisy's shorts is A lot shorter in this movie and she wears items that would make any man enjoy watching! After all, it is Jessica Simpson! If you get the unrated version, you get Jessica's EXCELLENT video of "These Boots are Made for Walking" with Willie Nelson.
The General Lee isn't alone in differences. He is still portrayed as a 1969 Charger and still jumps everything in sight. But there is definitely more beating and banging. The General is barely together by the end of the movie! Not only that, but Bo has an unusual "love" for him as well. The General is definitely not one of the stars of this movie. More of an "extra" that gets occasional attention.
All in all, I enjoyed the movie. It can't be comparable to the original TV show but it is worth watching a few times!
