These vans are rockin'
29 January 2023
It all starts with the love of music, a van and a spirit of adventure. Some move on to a luxury tour bus, some a jet plane and some just end up down by the river, but some never leave that van and keep on rocking' down the road decade after decade.

I really enjoyed hearing all the artist talking about touring in a van and how important it was for them, and fun. It's like that crazy road trip you took with your friends, even the things that went wrong are still good memories, fun times. But this is like that trip never ends, I'm sure some band members didn't enjoy it as much as others but it really does bond a band together. This is not complete history of the touring van, but it sure does cover a large aspect of it and how it impacts the artist. It has a good mix of artist with some nice interviews and lots of old footage and photos, but it was a little all over the place. Overall it was a fun watch, they talked to veterans and even a new band, Radkey, I listened to their last album and it was good, so that was a nice bonus.

I would like to see more on the history of touring, not just the early van years but how the evolution from van to tour bus, to private jets, and how that changed the bigger bands.

Someone needs to do a road stories series, I'm sure there are a ton of crazy stories that could be told, and some that can't.

Take the Gun Give Me the Grenade. Wow, Entertaining and Fun Ride with some Heart
23 July 2022
This was one of the best action movies I have seen in a while, just pure entertainment, reality did not get in the way. I mostly like thrillers with some action in them, this was pretty much an action movie but I loved it, just enough story and a pretty good one at that. I can't see many action movie fans not enjoying this, it's well done, the acting was great as was the direction. It doesn't try to be all serious, there's some good one-liners and the humor was well placed, I liked it.

Gosling played his part perfectly and I really enjoyed his character, I hope he does more like this or like Drive. Evans was great too, and funny at times, I didn't like his character, but that was the point, you wanted him to lose. I think the current rating is a little low, this should be mid or high 7's. I was 100% entertained and enjoyed the entire movie start to finish.

Umm OK
30 June 2022
Another basic slice of life narrated in a very deadpan manner by the great Ron Swanson, at least that's what I was thinking the whole time. So yeah, Nick Offerman as the narrator was perfect. The acting was great, Wheless was spot on, and the whole vibe was dry and lifeless as it was intended to be. I can't say it's recommended for all, if you like dry wit dark comedy, then you should like this. For me, I'm always interested in seeing the many sides of life told in different ways. And in this film the main character is flawed and makes poor choices that lead to more poor choices. I think we see why she is flawed and we also see the many mistakes in handling everything by the local government and how she is treated by society. I love how this film moves and how it ends, it ends like...

A Breath of Fresh Air! Welcome to the Future Beavis & Butt-Head, We Need You!
27 June 2022
It's hard to bring back the past but this movie has hopefully done just that, because it seems like a set up to a new series. This was much better than I expected, I was worried until they got sucked into the black hole, then it all made sense, well as much sense as these two idiots can make. I thought the writing was top notch, I think it has a better story than the first movie and seems to serve a purpose. Just like the original series, so many lines made me laugh and just minor lines Butt-Head says are great, I mean he's the smart one, right? The stupidity is just amazing, it's a little like the 3 Stooges, which I think todays culture needs, it needs to not take everything so seriously.

I hope we get a series with these two idiots that rips away at modern society with reckless abandoned and Paramount has the balls to not censor it. I hate to say it, but we need Beavis & Butt-Head now more than ever.

The Offer (2022)

This is how a TV series is done! Perfect in every way.
10 June 2022
If you want an enjoyable entertaining look at how a classic movie was brought to the big screen from start to finish, you got it. The acting was outstanding, or should I say lack of acting because you don't notice anyone is even acting, and that is how it should be. Pacing was perfect, and the length was perfect. How many times do you see a TV series try to stretch it out over 2 seasons when it's really a solid one season show, too many times.

As for the reality, was it all 100% as it was in real life? 90%? Don't tell me, I really don't even want to know, it was enjoyable no matter what.

One thing I did not do, and don't want to do, is watch the behind the scenes after each episode. I did not watch them, and I'm not going to, at least not now, maybe down the road. To me that just ruins it, I love movies and TV for escape, when I watch I want to really feel like it's some alternate reality and I'm watching the real deal. I never like seeing actors out of character as I'm watching a movie or series. That's just me, some might like that part.

This is a fabulous story perfectly written, directed and acted, it's a 10.

What is going on? Started out so good
23 May 2022
First episode was interesting, 2nd had me hooked but now it seems to be going nowhere fast. I will continue to watch but now each episode does not have me excited to see the next. I think writers just try to stretch out a show that may have been better as a 2 hour movie, I mean if the best parts happen in a season 2, maybe everyone bails out before then. The acting is good, but not a single character has my interest, the boys from both families are not that interesting. The odd Wayne Tillerson is probably the most interesting of the bunch. Maybe throw everyone into the void and start over.

Ozark: A Hard Way to Go (2022)

People are split, but I loved it, not what I expected at all.
8 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I loved it! A completely unexpected ending, not all warm and fuzzy wrapped up in a perfect box. In the world of drugs, politics and big money, the good guys don't always win, and what may seem like good is not really all that good. Not many good people here, more like people dragged down by family or poor choices, then choices they had to make to survive. In the end the detective did the right thing, I wanted him to win, and I thought he did, I never saw it coming, the cycle continues.

Hard to overcome the family you are born into, most of the time you end up doing the same things you grew up with and learned from your family, and this series shows that happening on all sides.

Jonah seems harder and worse than his parents, he seems colder and more calculating than all of them. His character could make for an offshoot series, maybe he becomes an adult criminal or escapes but drawn back into family issues.

Odds are this movie has a much better story in other universes, oh, and of course, the food is free!
6 May 2022
It's not that I don't like Doctor Strange, I loved the first movie and his appearances in other films, but this I didn't enjoy at all. Directing was not the issue, acting wasn't the best, but again not the problem, it was clearly the script. As a fan of Wandavision it didn't even deliver on that front. Like others have said, I was expecting a whole lot more multiverse and less madness. Halfway through I thought maybe the ending would save it for me, it did not. I hate to say it but I think it's a pass, I would MUCH rather sit through Morbius again. I think they wasted an opportunity to make an amazing multiverse movie, opening alternative paths to future movies and TV series. Disappointing.

Morbius (2022)
7/10
It's really not that bad, actually a pretty good story and I enjoyed it.
3 April 2022
This movie is not nearly as bad as some reviews are saying, it was better than I expected. It told the story of Dr. Michael Morbius and how he ended up like he is, I thought it was good at doing that. I can say this is not Leto's best, I feel he could have done better to add to the character, in fact all the acting was a little bland, like nobody was into it. So maybe it could have been better with a different director, sometimes you can feel when a director just doesn't get the best out of the actors, I felt that. With that said, it was still an enjoyable movie for me, and I think non comic book fans with zero expectation will enjoy this even more. Some people were expecting way too much out of this movie and probably wouldn't be happy unless Spider-Man showed up. I mean we are talking Morbius, and I thought this was better than the last Venom which just blew the Carnage appearance. This movie had little to work with and did better.

This was a fine set up movie for Morbius, obviously there is more to come, maybe a movie in alternate universe with an Andrew Garfield Spider-Man and Tom Hardy Venom. I do think this will be the last standalone movie for Morbius, but who knows.

Felt like an eternity! I wanted Deadpool to show up and end this!
7 November 2021
First, do the actors read the script when offered a Marvel film? I can't see them reading this saying wow this is a winner. I'm thinking they just thought oh, Marvel movies are all the rage, this can't miss. As far as what I think, it's getting too far from the core for me.

I felt ZERO or fun or adventure in this movie, it was depressing and boring. I didn't like anybody in this movie not a single one. To get the bad feelings out of my mind I went back and watched the original Spider-Man which I hadn't watched in years, it was like night and day, very fun to watch. Some of these new Marvel movies are trying to be too much hollywood too serious, why so serious? I wanted Deadpool to show up and end this part of the Marvel Universe. So this is just a hard pass from me, and my worst rated Marvel movie to date.

Stay home and watch something good from the past, hopefully they learn from these failures and don't just keep repeating them.

I got emotional about a robot, how about that, heart and soul wrapped up in metal.
5 November 2021
I got emotional about HAL in 2001 so I guess I'm a fan of robots, and yeah if you like robots you should like this as well. If you don't like robots like someone in my family does, you will probably not like this movie, but maybe the movie could change your mind. Tom Hanks was great, but the robot stole the show, and even with a dark tone there was some humor, just enough and in the right parts which is important. Through much of the movie I'm saying just what is this about, what is the payoff going to be? You just have to wait until the second half and the end to get the payoff, and it was totally worth it.

Some of the reviews really give away too much about the tone or direction. I went in knowing absolutely nothing, never even looked at the trailer, could have been Star Wars for all knew, um it wasn't. I will tell you if you're looking for explosions, gunfighting or edge of your seat excitement you will be disappointed. It's just a good little story about a Man, his dog and a robot. I liked the way it ended, stories have to end but I will play out in my mind what happens after the movie ended. I kinda love that about a movie that you really would like to see what comes next, you have to use your imagination. Maybe they do another one, and I already know the name, watch and you will too.

Funny, some drama, funny, funny, and a little sadness with some heart, I liked it!
26 October 2021
I watched this in English, and it was very good, very well done. I'm so glad it touched on many things people went through or are going through and did it in a way that was funny. If I had any complaint, could have been a little shorter. But overall it was very entertaining, funny, with a few good messages, nothing forced like many movies today.

Nice to see many people still think you can take a serious subject or situation and have fun with it. Today too many people are way too sensitive, some movies, comedians and sports personalities take us out of the real world for a moment away from reality so expect some of them to be irreverent, and characters that are stereotypes. If you don't like real life situations shown in a funny light or stereotypes, then don't watch. We are not all going to agree on everything, and that's OK.

Writers, directors, artist, comedians all should have no boundaries.

A well told little story, that's about it, but I enjoyed it.
17 October 2021
If you like movies that are just a look into two characters, nothing shocking, not a comedy or intense drama, then you might like this. The acting was first rate, great direction, and it never dragged. It told a story and I found myself invested in the two leads so I wanted to see how it played out. I had my own ideas that didn't all come to pass, either way I found it worth my time. Nothing was forced and it didn't try to make any social statements. I think it clearly points out the emotional side of being a surrogate, and many might not realize that until the birth. In the end it leaves you with tons of points you could debate, and just what each character was really feeling or what they were looking for.

Outside the typical superhero movie, more fantasy/supernatural, but I liked it.
6 September 2021
I didn't know what to expect going in, superhero? Martial arts? And to me it ended up being more fantasy/supernatural than superhero. That being said, I liked it and I was entertained, it had a strange 80's vibe to me and I had feelings at times like I have seen this before...probably just me. The story was good, acting was good, visuals were spectacular, the middle did kinda drag a little, but overall it was a good movie.

If you're looking for a martial arts movie, it's not Enter the Dragon and it's certainly not superhero like Spider-man or Superman. It's different, fresh, and I can see why many will love it. You could hate superheroes in general and still love this movie, so it would be a shame for people to avoid this movie because they don't like Superhero movies. I say give it a shot, but don't expect anything like Enter the Dragon or Superman, you will be disappointed.

The Mandalorian: Chapter 16: The Rescue (2020)
Season 2, Episode 8
10/10
This will be the most watched episode in streaming history!
19 December 2020
This is all I wanted from Disney, My Hero, My Man, My Jedi doing what the greatest Jedi in history does. This was the soap I needed to cleanse my mind from that nightmare movie. The episode title is correct, I think this rescued the entire franchise.

Review? Just seeing the X-Wing show up I was on the ceiling, no really, I was on the ceiling! I did fear one time, I honestly thought they were going to keep the hood on him (I knew who it was). So when he pulled back the hood, for one second, I went oh no don't be someone else....I mean it's Disney so you have to forgive me if I had flashbacks, I mean if it wasn't him...seriously I was ready to break my set.

You know, I didn't even need to see his face, I would have been fine with that, the mysterious aspect of him just laying waste and then poof some smoke and the child is gone, that would have worked for me. But yeah, this was AMAZING! I'm thinking how do you top that? Enter the post credit scene, really? this is by far the best Star Wars since 1983, had to slap my face, thought I was dreaming.

Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and all the rest, THANK YOU! So now anyone doing Star Wars that want to nail what 98% of the old fans want (probably new fans too), just need to look at this episode and series. I mean it was like Disney thought we wanted them to reinvent the wheel, just use the same wheels on a new car.

OK, Go watch it again!

Babe Ruth was the Michael Jordan of Baseball, not the other way around.
18 May 2020
To me, Jordan is the greatest sports legend of all time, everyone likes to say yeah so and so was the Babe Ruth of "insert sport" Well I love the Bambino, but for me, Jordan is the one all others need to be compared to in all sports.

It will be years before a larger than life sports athlete hits like Jordan hit back in the 80's He changed a sport, changed fashion, changed advertising, changed history!

I was lucky to have grown up during his career, what can I say, each sport was defined by HUGE legends at the time, actually dynamic duo's Jordan/Pippen, Gretzky/Messier, Montana/Rice. In baseball Pete Rose defined the 80's for me, 90's I followed Griffey and McGwire, But Jordan overshadowed them all by far, and this series just nailed the reasons why he did.

This series is well done, it will help younger people get to feel a little what we felt back in the 80's/90's. I'm not knocking present time, but things like this are once in a lifetime kind of events, Jordan is the Goat, The legend of all sports! and the Bulls team was a sports dynasty. It's not often a team takes hold of the entire country, let alone the world! It's like this, Michael Jordan and Babe Ruth, and then all the rest.

If you love sports, you will love this series, if you just grew up in the 80's/90's and not even a sports fan, you'll probably like this series, it's that good, even my 80 year old mother watched a little bit, because everyone likes Mike!....It's gotta be the shoes!

The Right Missy! Funny & Silly RomCom, She is Crazy & Annoying, That's the point
17 May 2020
I laughed out loud many times, it was so silly, and it never tries to be anything but silly (good). There are some cringe moments but they weren't that bad, it was balanced and funny. Some movies tend over use it to be funny and it fails, you don't need 40 F-bombs to be funny.

The acting was good, everyone, even the small parts were played well, good lines, funniest I have seen Rob Schneider in a long time (I would love a whole movie about Captain Komante, he's clearly a genius that needs a whole movie ..lol). like others have said, this is not an Oscar movie, it's a goof, a silly romantic comedy not trying to make you think, just relax and laugh at silly things. The more this movie went on, the more I liked it, but I was actually upset at his decision at the end, but it was perfect.

In the end the movie actually had a message, you think you want someone who is more like you, but maybe someone who takes you out of your comfort zone is better, just not that far!

Oh, and a little bit into the credits is another scene...pretty funny, Missy is going to be right about him, but just not the form of transportation.

First Episode was very enjoyable! I loved it.
21 March 2020
I have to admit halfway through I thought it was just recycled story of "Somewhere in Time" staring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour which I liked so I was entertained even if it was going to be the same end. But I think the ending was fantastic, and somewhat of a twist. I was like wow, that's different, plus they added something I found pretty cool to the end, especially if your a collector. So give it a go and watch the first episode, it may not be amazing for all, but it's entertaining, and some will love it. Now I need to see the next episode, and maybe that's a dud, maybe the rest are duds and I have to revise my review of the entire series. I'm certainly not going to trash the entire series without seeing them all. I think the Twilight Zone is a 10, but I don't like every single episode. So I will see how many I like and I'll come back and update how I feel. So far episode 1 was good.

I didn't think I would like it, but I loved it! reversed my thoughts on Ben/Rey
21 December 2019
I Really enjoyed this way more than I thought I would, even with all the spoilers I still really liked it, I was surprised. The movie felt very much like Star Wars, plus the jokes were not forced, and new characters like Babu Frik felt like they fit right into the Universe. Rey/Finn/Poe were back together, this was very refreshing, dialog was great, the interactions between all characters was very enjoyable and worked well. The best part for me was the corrections that erased the odd choices made for Luke and plot holes about Snoke and Rey. The new revelations also kinda made me like Ben Solo a little, we know better why he did what he did. Now about Rey, I was never a fan, I wanted Luke back in charge, but now I know this is not Lukes story, or Anakin, this is Rey's story which is made clearly obvious to my joy. This movie makes her character clear, Rey must confront her past and take a journey much like Luke did. We now know about her power and she is nothing like what we were left with after 8, she has issues much like Luke did, now both Luke and Rey are extremely important to the Star Wars mythos, neither more or less, but equal.

So I would say if you were like me and felt let down after the last movie, don't let your hate hurt your love of Star Wars, I feel what is revealed in this movie makes both Rey and Ben more understandable and Luke as well. And for the average viewer, I would say it's and action-packed adventure full of fun and emotion.

So I say go see it, don't just follow the hate crowd, make up your own mind and don't ruin your love for Star Wars because of hate from one movie or character. I say Episode 8 what? I don't remember any episode 8, I'm fine jumping from 7 to 9 and erasing 8 from my thoughts. JJ did pretty good with what he had, he actually pulled it off if you ask me, just sad he didn't do the whole trilogy.

It just wasn't that good, Marvel can't take every character to the big screen
9 March 2019
I think this movie was dull and uninteresting, I actually wanted to stop watching halfway through. Story was weak, and wasn't that interesting, oh maybe the cat was interesting. Also, it didn't have a good flow from start to finish, maybe bad editing, or direction, the actors looked uninspired. I feel sorry for Brie, she looked completely uninterested, which has a lot to do with the director. This movie was like the shiny or holographic comic book covers of the 90's that killed the comic market. Feels like they made this movie just because they could, the character is not the best but they feel like the audience will go to anything Marvel, well we did, but the word of mouth will start to hurt all the Marvel movies.

I think it's important to know not enjoying this film has nothing to do with it having a female lead, that is just not the case at all, if it was good I would be very happy. I can name lots of recent movies with a female lead that I loved, Peppermint, I Tonya, Bumblebee, Molly's Game... I really liked those movies. I'm still really hopeful for Black Widow, just hope they have a solid story for it with a great director.

Venom (2018)
7/10
Not what I expected at all, but it was OK.
8 October 2018
I like the character Venom, but I was expecting a good stand alone horror movie. This was neither a super hero movie or horror movie, it was something in the middle that failed to hit the mark. I think some people have it right it's more of a dark comedy, but even failed to nail that.

All that being said, I was entertained, it's not a complete disaster and some moments where great, but it lacked something. It's just not the Venom movie I was hoping for. I would like either a full on Marvel super hero movie with Spider-Man or a full on stand alone rated R horror movie.

I think a crazy dark horror movie rated R would have been Amazing.

So, it's just OK, some fun, nothing I would want to see over again.

It's well done, but it's sad and not entertaining at all
21 September 2018
Great cast, well directed, I just came out of it too sad, why even show this aspect of life? Some of this is exaggerated story telling, but sadly this is far too close to reality for too many families. So the saddest thing I got from it was....this is really the life of some people, all neat and tidy on the outside but a mess on the inside. I think you might gain a little more compassion toward people you might think are total jerks, but you just don't know until you walked in their shoes. Where did the ugly start? Where will it end? They just keep trying to fill the big empty hole in their hearts.

I don't know, it's a well done movie, just a big downer. I have seen movies like this also be very entertaining, at no point was this entertaining to me. It was just a deep moody drama. So if that's for you, you'll love it.

Didn't work for me, story was poor.
16 September 2018
Not much to say, seems nobody can write a serious Predator movie. Such an epic character and kinda relegated to a cheap horror character with a cast that I disliked so much I was rooting for the Predators to off them all.

The only reason I gave it a 5 was due to the fact any scene with a Predator is enjoyable.

So seriously stupid, it's genius!
16 September 2018
Amazingly well directed, which obviously made everyone better, the acting is just so spot on. The writing is outstanding as well, both seasons, in fact the second season may be even better than the first. This parody might not be for everyone, but for what they were trying to accomplish, they did it, and did it perfectly.

It's all done so straight and serious which makes the dialogue just hilarious. Certain lines are crazy funny in the way they are delivered.

I thought the beginning of season 2 was crappy, but after finishing the entire first episode I was hooked again. I would say at least watch 2 episodes before you judge it. After a few minutes you might say this is just kinda silly, but once you realize what there doing it's just great.

Got better with every episode, left me wanting more like Breaking Bad did.
7 September 2018
I love this show, was worried about season 2, but it's actually getting better with every episode. Bateman's Marty Byrde drags his whole family into this money laundering debocle and it just spirals out of control. Laura Linney is excellant as his wife Wendy Byrde, who really evolves into this evil manipulative person, it's like second nature to her, so maybe she was already flawed. The entire cast is great, but they all play very unlikeable evil people, which could turn some people off. But It's what happens to people who lie, cheat, steal, and cover up what they do, regardless if it's small time or big business/politics. Ruth, Marty's sidekick for lack of a better term is a very interesting character, her father is a piece of garbage so we see how she got to be how she is. The only likable person in the entire show is Wyatt, Ruth's cousin, I'm was rooting for him. The series is very intriguing and shows what greed, crime and drugs does to people, and those who get dragged into it. The show does a good job showing corruption from every level, local, state, politics, police, business, and how people use others dirty deeds to force them to do their dirty deeds.

If you liked shows like Bloodline, Breaking Bad, you will probably like this show. I think it really starts getting good in Season 2, the end of every episode I look forward to the next one.

*Just watched the final episode, WOW, people are split, But I LOVED it. If you don't know the end, just stop reading and watch it before you know too much! I wanted more seasons, hopefully they can take a character and do something related.
