Now that I've heard that this is an edited version of another movie, I'm very interested in seeing that.
So, a cop goes undercover as a high school senior, hoping to find what happened to a number of missing cheerleaders. Instead of joining the cheerleaders, she joins field hockey.
Things move very fast, and within her first day (?) she is invited to a party, bonds with one of the social circle, and is kidnapped by the same perpetrators as the crime she's investigating.
The movie is funny, but it's hard to tell if it's intentional or not. There is a remarkable amount of cleavage on display, which reaches a comic level of silliness. Girls standing around in the locker room wearing fancy matching pairs, plunging necklines everywhere.
When we find that the girls are being kept in cages, they aren't custom cages. They're dog crates. A standard dog crate, the large size, which you can buy at any pet store. More notable is that those crates can be easily opened by a person. Even if they didn't have the dexterity to reach through the grate to open the latch, they could easily unhook the top. Or just push the metal to bend it.
I believe that every single male that we see in the movie happens to be involved in this kidnapping ring - except for the police force.
As far as I can tell, the entire story takes place over a single day.
So, I'm going to see if I can find that original movie, and determine if this was intended to be a comedy or not.
