A beautiful shot, beautifully acted and decently well written are the words that I will use to describe this movie.

A period drama that takes place inside a mental institution. We get a glimpse into the lives of many characters inside the hospital, exploring their conditions through their actions, and through our main character's point of view.

It's more of a straightforward narrative, making its point across. A tragic, bittersweet and unfair tale. It succeeds in making us feel what the characters feel, which is emphasized by the eerie feeling of helplessness that the whole movie gives off.

A classic movie, a really nice watch that I recommend.

There was an accident on Mulholland Drive, a young, charming woman survives and ventures into LA, losing her sense of self. There, in a house, she 'breaks' into, she meets another woman, who insists of helping her no matter the risk and the dangers behind her fake self.

To anyone who has watched this. You're going to be thinking the same as me: What did I just watch? Am I losing my mind over this? Will I ever witness anything alike ever again? The answers are entirely up to you.

This film, a literal piece of art, has it all. The true highlight of Lynch's filmography, a bizzare love story among a dearing Hollywood dream, like a lucid dream. A true film that keeps you wanting more and more answers, while providing more questions instead, all of that with a sense of a somewhat clear direction. You are going to want a fresh cup of water after this.

It might just be the best movie ever made. It has endless layers, it's a masterful piece of art, everything is so well constructed that once you get the hang of making sense, you lose it . It's magical, beautiful, fascinating and intriguing, a never-done-before piece of art, that has yet to be matched.

A wonderful ride, by the amazing Lynch. I can't even put this into words, I honestly don't know how I should feel or react to the entire film. It's a journey one is willing to take. And even as a mkre straightforward narrative, you still get lost in the endless questions the movie presents you with, is it really just a strange world we live in?

The movie is a perfect blend of old Lynch and a more progressive and weird Lynch, all while seeming a lot like the base inspiration for Twin Peaks and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, who were made soon after this.

It picks up the pace pretty soon, masking as an awkward coming-of-age 80s movie at the beginning, with a crime setting. And suddenly, all that gets narrowed down. Like a punch to the face, and introducing us to some key characters.

Overall, an awesome movie everyone has to experience at least once in their lifetime.

So you like weird, absurd, and whatever did I just watch? Is this movie gonna be a surprise.

David Lynch does it for the first time, and not just simply put, he makes one, if not, the best movie(s) of all time, and does it gracefully.

This movie tells us a short story about Henry, and his fantasies, his nightmares, his real life. Henry had sex with his girlfriend, which in one way or another led to pregnancy, which soon led to a baby. A baby that came out too soon, and who is definitely not looking human.

Henry is on the verge of going insane throughout this movie, finding peace only during his rest, while picturing a better world and an ideal wife for him. The lady in the radiator, he makes her up in his mind, a fantasy of some sorts. She crushes the sperms, she would never get pregnant, unlike his girlfriend who abandoned him. And abruptly so, he gives into the fantasy.

The sound design, set design and acting is all on par with the surrealistic insticts of this movie.

Whatever happened to Laura Palmer?

Part 18. Even more confusion

I don't know how to put this into words properly, I have zero explanation for what I just saw, can comprehend and explain to myself, but also share to others. Weird, strange and bizzare

This episode is... Dull. Seriously, dull. Not in a bad way, but in a what the hell way. All mood is gone, you're left with confusion, fright, and melancholia.

Cooper is in another.. dimension? World? I honestly have no idea, but Laura, she is alive, but she's not herself?

Cooper and 'Laura' drive to Twin Peaks, for some insight on whatever is going on. Only to be left with even more confusion! God I love this. I love having to make up explainations for stories. Lynch, you have done the unimaginable, made a great show into an even greater one.

Part 17. What's happening ?!

A bob orb, a young Laura, time travel, what?! Seriously, this must be the peak of the show.

Although too cheesy at times, honestly, that green glove thing. What even is that, all though it was partially explained, it does seem too stupid.

Mr. C is in Twin Peaks, and goes off to the forest, for bizzare findings and a method of teleportation. Cooper arrives in twin peaks, but rather late, as his doppelganger is already there, we see how that goes.

Back in time, we get major flashbacks from Laura's unfortunate last night on earth. But something bizzare prevents her fate.

Part 16. No knock, no doorbell, he just came in..

A great great GREAT episode! Feels like the new Twin Peaks finally looked in the mirror and realised what it really was all about, and what it promised.

Mr. C and Richard are up to something that doesn't resolve any matters, especially with Richard.

Diane goes through major mental breakdowns, and honestly, I do not blame her one bit. She went through some hard stuff I will not spoil. Anyway, it doesn't end too well for her either, but at least she 'feels' better now..?

Finally, we have our dear friend back and awake. Ready for action. And on the way to Twin Peaks!

Ladies and gentlemen, I present Audrey's Dance!

What a scene, nostalgic washed all over me.

Overall, a major and build up for the two next episodes, who will be the finale.

Goodnight Margaret
24 February 2024
Part 15. My heart is in a million pieces.

Starting off plain and simple, a great episode overall, we get plot progression, and some very sad finales.

Mr. C is being a weirdo again doing weirdo things. He visits the convenience store we see multiple times and sees some Woodsmen in it. More odd stuff, exactly what I needed for the story narrowing to its end.

Dougie.. ahem, I mean Coop, watches a TV show and it reminds him of something? I suppose, the whole idea of a team and the face of the old dude reminding him of Gordon. Anyway, soon after, he has the bright idea to stick a fork in an outlet. Apparently he didn't read the safety books that were given to him in elementary school. We'll see how that goes.

Margaret. The loss of a major, simple, mysterious and helpful character. A tragedy! But what an ending, always a pleasure to have you around Catherine. Rest in the greatest peace you'll ever find.

Let's *really* rock !
24 February 2024
Part 14. Finally, more plot progression after two mild episodes!

Now we're really picking up! Let's rock, but actually this time.

This episode starts greatly, and ends greatly. We see many references to the old series, more progression on the Brigg's mystery, and the Laura diary pages.

On the eye of the storm, Andy, Bobby and Hawk see a vortex in the sky, which transports an unexpected someone into an unexpected room. Finally, some insight on a dull 'comedic relief' character!

Sarah Palmer continues to be a troubled woman, with major mental health issues, which become super apparent in the final scene.

All in all, a lovely episode.

Part 13. What can I say at this point?

To be very honest, I was expecting the series to move at a much quicker pace than expected. Look, I appreciate and love Lynch, and all of his works, but truth is, the Return could have easily used 4 less episodes. Or even more to be honest. Even though I love every episode, some feel lacking and like fillers.

This episode was very mild, I binged watch it along with the next ones and I have to say it was definitely a weaker episode.

Not much plot progression, except for the obvious focus on Mr. C, which just proves how malicious he really is. Otherwise, and apart from the Audrey scene (always a pleasure to see her!), not much else to be said and summarized.

All in all, a great episode in general TV terms, but in the greatness of Twin Peaks: The Return, it is rather mild for what it offers.

Audrey, let's rock
22 February 2024
Part 12, so-so ..

This episode confirmed the return of a favourite character from the old series, Audrey Horne! And apparently she's married to some man she really doesn't enjoy being around.

A strange episode for sure, really felt like a filler even though I've not felt this way for other episodes. Even felt like the whole episode was a proper introduction for Audrey, anyways.

Sarah Palmer. She had some really wack scenes, unarguably my favourite so far. What a damned family. Hawk pays her a visit and.. she's acting all weird, even weirder than Leland.

Anyhow, it still had its enjoyable moments, namely seeing Audrey, and the Sarah scenes I mentioned. It ended with a nice tune, so that's that.

Part 11. What an episode!!

Wow, this really was a highlight of this season. So much wonky things I can't put them into words properly.

To begin with: we have some pretty disturbing stuff to start this episode with. Namely, children making a rather unexpected discovery, and Shelly trying to be there for her daughter. Both scenes were really stressful and outright scary.

Back in Buckhorn, our FBI gang discovers pretty startling stuff too. Gordon has a vision, Diane has one too that she doesn't elaborate till further. We see how it goes soon after. (Diane, you have a serious smoking addiction!)

By the end of the episode, we see Dougie in a strange meeting that ends really unexpectedly. We hear some beautiful piano tunes at the end though. Damn good pie!

Overall, a GREAT episode! Can't wait for more.

Part 10. Now things are really picking up.

This episode was great. A perfect blend of funny, weird, scary, and chaotic.

It mainly centers around the new characters this time around. Candie, for example, who is acting all weird, but I still like her!

We get some disturbing scenes with Richard. Scenes that haven't been matched since the BOB scenes back in the original show, that's more than great.

It did seem like a build up episode, so I'm eagerly expecting to see what's next. And for the love of god, where are you, Audrey?!

All in all, a pretty good and solid episode, another great addition to this show.

A nice continuation
20 February 2024
Part 9.

After the insanity of Part 8, we get put hurrily back in the basics. What became of Mr. C, the ongoing Major Briggs mystery, and the weird lodge stuff going on back in Twin Peaks. While the focus is parallel on all of these plots at once, the outcome is shared through all of them.

We follow the FBI team on their sudden change of plans, investigating someone who a strange case of a special someone we've not known much for regarding his death.

This episode contains just the right amount of plot progression I'd expect, especially after Part 8, a really crazy episode.

Overall, really enjoyable, and didn't tire me a bit.

This is the water..
20 February 2024
An absolutely unimaginable experience. This was like a top tier movie cut too short. The black and white filters, the spaceship, literally everything was on point. Lynch, you crazy madman, have done it once again.

First time watching this. I was absolutely taken away! Everything was so mesmerizing. The nuclear bomb effects.. the visuals, the colors, I just can't put it into words!

Finishing this episode left me in great awe. Couldn't stop thinking about it, everything about it.

The setting is absolutely magnificent, especially for people who like vintage and b&w films of some sort.

At this point, the series will either go in the absolutely best direction or stay a bit mild. Anyhow, I'm eager to see more.

'Kid?!'
18 February 2024
Part 6, a greatly done episode which could have used some more plot progressions, but otherwise pretty great.

We get introduced to what type of gang that young guy is affiliated with, weird stuff.

For a split second, we also get to see someone important to whoever watched the first seasons and kept wondering, 'Is she ever going to show up?'.

Dougie is getting all weird in his house, but not without sharing some pretty wholesome moments. He starts looking at his case files, and does some odd stuff.

We get to see a pretty gruesome scene, that really upset me and almost made me shed a tear, it felt too real, hats off to Lynch for that one.

We also hear some funny music that I could, sort of, bop to? Another gory scene follows up soon after, involving characters we barely know, so that's better than whatever else was to happen.

Back in Twin Peaks, Hawk makes an odd discovery in the station, which wasn't revealed what it was about.

All in all, a pretty straightforward episode, and a certainly good one, but could use some more progression, considering we are 6 episodes in.

WAKE UP!
18 February 2024
Part 5.

So-so, while it had its moments, it certainly was a weak episode, the cinematography was great (of course, Lynch!) But overall felt lacking, at least plot wise.

We got some returning characters, more screentime for Doctor Jacoby and Nadine! Didn't expect to see her at all, but she surely was a treat!

Dougie's job life is.. embarrassing and hilarious, well, it has started to get tiring, I sure hope we get to see some change to this soon. Anyway, all's good from that.

Mr. C got funky with the prison he is being held at, making a random phone call and messing with the system, sort of like a super power, that was really neat .

Overall, a pretty neat and a bit boring, repetitive episode, but it still was a treat.

Amélie (2001)

Candy for the brain.
17 February 2024
What can I say about this movie, words just come and go.

Amelie, or known as 'La fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain'. A movie about a girl's life, and how she eventually finds love, while it may sound cliché, it's anything but that.

The visuals. Oh the visuals. Recent film cinematography hasn't even come close to this masterpiece. The music combined with the image is astonishing.

Amelie is a young girl in France. We get to see some short clips of her childhood (which are mostly funny), and then we get to explore her day to day routine. Her job at a cafeteria, her love for spying on her neighbours, and making interesting appearances in their lives. Soon, she comes across a potential love interest, which she starts taking chances with, but is held back by her shyness. This film is a must watch for anyone, casual viewers, picky viewers, everyone will enjoy it.

...laura palmer?
17 February 2024
Part 4.

This episode was probably the first to bring tears to my eyes. That scene with Bobby and Laura's picture...man. Surely brings back some memories. Not to mention Laura Palmer's theme playing in the background, it took Lynch 3 episodes to play it !

Dougie is live and in, sort of, action. Well, Cooper is still buried somewhere in there, and he's trying hard to find his way out. Anyways, the breakfast scene was mostly funny.

Bad Coop is captured by the FBI, and he seems to recognize Gordon, even doing a thumbs up to him. However, nor Gordon nor Albert seem to be buying it, hinting at the 'Blue Rose', possibly the codename for the investigation of the lodges. There were some key scenes in the episode, one including Andy and Lucy's son, Wally! Genius casting, by the way.

Some scenes did lack plot or sense, especially at the end, some felt a bit stretched out, but I'm sure it will start paying off very soon.

When you'll arrive, you'll already be there
17 February 2024
This episode is definitely on par with the Part 2 of the new season. The first 20 ish minutes are a surreal feast, magical, scary, eerie and of course, Lynch-like!

We get introduced to Dougie Jones, who seems to be another version of Cooper living in the world, who Cooper seems to 'awaken' as. The hilarious scene in the casino is probably the highlight of the show so far, I mean, helloooooooo !

Some scenes are definitely stretched out, but I do see where Lynch is going with this tactic. Honestly, watching Jacoby spray paint his shovels for 3 minutes straight was not what I expected, but anyways, that's that.

The scene in the FBI headquarters not only reintroduces us to some major older characters, but also introduces us to some new ones, which, from my understanding, will play a big role in this season.

Overall, this episode seems to be the last of the 'introductory' and mood-setting episodes. Can't wait to explore more of this.

The evolution of... The show
16 February 2024
This episode made me feel both scared and happy. Seeing the red room live and in action, Laura, Leland, Mike, and of course the evolution of the arm together in a sequence was something I was certainly not expecting. This episode adds to the surrealistic plot that the original show was trying so hard for. The cinematography was top tier, making it even more remarkable. It does provide some insight on the personality of Cooper's doppelganger, which is the entire opposite of his original character. Not only that, but the ending showed us some of our favourite characters from the original show, interacting with each other, and to a beautiful song. All in all, an excellent episode for the fans of the surreal part of Twin Peaks.

Laura Palmer: the tragic blonde
16 February 2024
Fire Walk With Me is the highlight of Lynch's movies. Laura Palmer, the small town girl that washed up on the shore. What was she hiding? Well, this movie shows us exactly what. What was once just referenced in the show becomes evident here. Not only are we introduced to Laura's tragic life, but we also get to live it with her. She played a major part of the show, but due to network restrictions, as well as other issues, we never got to see her final days, but, this movie shows us them, as well as more insight of Teresa Banks, the girl that got murdered a year before Laura. A combination of unfiltered Lynch craziness, teenage depression, family abuse, drug abuse and the dark side of the Twin Peaks town is exactly what this movie is all about. A must-see for Twin Peaks fans, and a beautiful flow into the following series, Twin Peaks: The Return.

A nice entrance to the surreal nature of Lynch.
16 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is everything you'd expect it to be. It's much like the previews show premieres, an hour full of nice introductions to characters we will certainly enjoy.

The episode starts at a *supposed* grey room, where we get to see the Giant, played by the legendary Carel Struycken. As well as our Cooper, (or is he?), played by the also legendary Kyle MacLachlan. We get to also see Doctor Jacoby, and his whereabouts, but not much is shown. Throughout the episode we also see some othermajorncharacters from the old series, as well as locations we revisit and will be visiting this whole run. However, it is noted that the note and pace do feel different, perhaps more Lynch-like, exactly how he would want the original show to play out. The colors are more dull, more cold, chilling. Greens and blues play out on our major locations, such as the Twin Peaks town, as well as Buckhorn. Enjoyers of the original seasons will notice this, some enjoy it, some not so much, mainly because of nostalgia-driven reasons. All in all, a great introductory episode to a great season. The best has yet to come.
