Granite Flats (2013–2015)
1/10
Done Watching
16 August 2015
I began watching Granite Flats because it was something new and different from other available programming. The show seemed to have a science bent aimed at kids in the beginning has become something weird, creepy, and unmistakably preachy. The show can't seem to decide what era it's set in except the 1950s-ish good-old-days past. The initial sporadic moralizing has given way to full blown preachiness. The show's dialog has always been stiff and stilted. The dialog has gotten even more stiff and stilted, making the preachiness all the more obvious. Moralistic preachiness also appears to be in lieu of an identifiable plot line these days. The program has taken an dark turn which isn't remotely enjoyable. Recognizable faces, and undeniable talents such as Christopher Lloyd, do nothing to save this program.

I Want to See It AGAIN
4 July 2009
This is a terrific creature feature!!! It had nearly every cliché in the book and that made it even better. The cast did a very good job without ever lapsing into complete corniness. The computer graphics were well done without being over done. There was even humor. It reminded me of Saturday afternoons when I was a kid. I actually had FUN watching it, which is more than I can say for most movies I've seen lately. I sat through the WHOLE thing and I can't remember the last time I did that. I keep checking the schedule, with fingers crossed, hoping it will show up. If Scifi (SyFy, whatever) can run Thor: Hammer of God more than once, this movie definitely, without question, deserves another shot!!! PLEASE!!!

Zandy's Bride (1974)

Take a look

Overlooked and HIGHLY underrated.

Gene Hackman and Liv Ullman are both superb in this film. Gene Hackman's performance is especially noteworthy.

I saw ZANDY'S BRIDE years ago, shortly after it was first released. It stuck with me. It's even better than I remembered.

I had trouble hunting down a copy as it hasn't been released on DVD. Like another terrific film, THE GREY FOX, a DVD really should be produced. Locating a VHS copy was worth the effort.

I definitely recommend checking it out if you are a fan of either actor.
