Up in the Air (I) (2009)

Horrible
11 April 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Without a doubt the worst movie I have seen in years. "Last year I flew 350,000 miles and the moon is 250,000." One of the lamest quotes I have ever heard. George Clooney's character travels around the country firing people. The beginning of the movie goes through his fantastic travel rewards? Showing all the corporations he travels with…Hertz, Hilton, American Airlines, etc….it was like a commercial. Given the United States has the largest unemployment rate since the Great Depression unless you are a masochist the movie is not for you. Then the movie has Sam Elliott from the Big Lebowski narrate how getting fired is at the end of the day not all that bad.

As far as IMDb.com I cannot believe this movie has a 7.9 rating. I trusted IMDb however going forward I will be a little leery. My wife just told me she gets to pick the next few movies and I thought she would like "Up in the Air." If you are going to watch this movie sniff some glue first! BAD MOVIE!

Big Love (2006–2011)

Surprisingly boring for an HBO series
14 June 2009
Surprisingly boring for an HBO series. It appears HBO thought polygamy and the archaic mormon religious practices would be more appealing to men. The plot is extremely boring. This guy is a polygamist and has a home improvement business. Take a ride around Salt Lake City and you find this is still completely true. There are large compounds with several houses and one large brick wall or fence. All the plots displayed in the show are true. Warren Jeffs showed the world people like the fictional character Roman Grant is actually not fictional and completely true. The show has no change in plot and is totally boring!!!! HBO cancel the thing and work on something new! If "Big Love" is all HBO has to offer I think they jumped the shark!!!!!!! What hapend to shows like The Sopranos and Curb Your Enthusiasm??? Now HBO provides Entourage which "jumped the shark" last year and Big Love????????

Worth Watching but Questionable Tactics
1 June 2009
Watching the show I would have to agree with the woman interviewed from Greenpeace who said "they (the Sea Shepherds) have set our cause back years." Paul Watson, the Captain and Paul Brown, his first Mate, seem like completely unprepared grade school children. However that may be the shows motive to display just how unprepared and haphazard the crew is…yet willing to risk it all to save the whales.

My opinion, the Sea Shepherds would be far better off taking pictures of the Japanese whaling ships, their captains and their crews. Find out who they are and posting their pictures and all their information on the Internet. Throwing stink bombs and harassing the Whaling boats just aggravates the whalers and escalates the situation.

Although I do not agree with the tactics the show has informed me of the unnecessary killing of an endangered species for money and using "research" as an excuse. The show is certainly worth watching once you get past fact the captain and first mate are bit immature and their tactics are a pretty worthless. I will continue watching and am curious as to whether the Sea Shepherds will learn anything from their mistakes. I recommend watching an episode or two and posting your opinion.
