This film is pure pastiche , with a sleazy script and awful acting. The plot is so predictable,the humour immature and the character MR.Deeds is everything but mundane. I would be joking if I said this film was watchable especially to people who have seen a lot of movies of this genre and others alike. Stay clear . 2/10

As an Indian,I've watched many movies which are based on our culture (like this one)directed by Indians based in the West. I must say only a few movies like Monsoon Wedding are truly excellent. From start to finish the movie delivers a platter of culture in the form of dance,drama,comedy and music captivating the viewer with ease. This film deserves all the acclaim and awards it has won. Kudos to Mira Nair and the cast for a fantastic job. Put this one in ure "must-see" movies category.

I had never heard of this film until I heard that it was showing on TV. The plot interested me and I decided to give it a try. It was FABULOUS ! I love romantic comedies and this was going to be my cup of tea. Fans of movies likes Notting Hill,Sliding Doors,Bridget Jones diary.etc will truly love this. Im a bit surprised that the movie didnt get as popular as it should be. I would seriously recommend it , so what r u waiting for !

I think the movie was perhaps a bit over-rated. It is nonethless fair but not as entertaining as I thought it would be. A lot of time is withered away in the scheming of the crime(which is arduous though very creative) although the execution is pretty good. Overall the movie was slightly dissapointing but is commendable
