The Wishing Well (2009)
It was great.
The first reviewer was a bit wrong I think. I believe they must have meant Jason London, rather than Jason Young? The 2nd reviewer was more correct and I agree with them that the movie is not necessarily a Oscar contender, but then, many Oscar contenders are total piles of garbage. I don't remember another movie that Jason London was in with Ernest Borgnine. But it was Jason rather than his brother Jeremy who was in a movie with Ed Asner. It was called Out of the Woods and it too was a fantastic movie and a lot of fun to watch, just like Wishing Well was.
This movie was great and it was refreshing to see a movie with no violence or profanity or gratuitous sex scenes. Jason London was terrific as always. It was a pleasure to see him in this movie.
Levitation (1997)
some rather beautiful moments.
I found this movie a bit difficult to understand in many parts and somewhat disjointed, but it does give you pause for thought in that we all have moments of unusual thinking and odd ideas. It was like trying to put someone elses actual thoughts into your head and think of them as coming from your own mind. Not easy to do as we all think differently.
The best parts of the movie were the scenes with 'Bob'(played beautifully by Jeremy London), who seems to be something of a guardian angel. His performance was lovely and thought provoking and for me, watching the whole movie was worth hearing him tell Acey "Yes, I love you" with such incredible passion, tenderness and feeling. Anyone whom that line does not touch, has never felt isolated or unwelcome, and longing for someone to love them.
Alien Cargo (1999)
I hate that I cant get this on DVD currently! VHS is not the same
***big spoiler*** I really enjoyed this movie. It was interesting and it made you think about decisions you make in your own life and career. The two leads, Chris and Theta have wonderful chemistry and you root for their relationship to be perfect even when you are afraid they may kill each other. Jason London was his usual perfectly darling self and you can only respond to his line "I'm the best you ever had and you cant get enough of me" with a grin and a nod. The situation these astronauts were put into by their employer really angers me though. (And I thought MY employer was less than concerned with it's employees' welfare!) But putting them into a situation that could potentially cost them their lives in order to save some money is just evil!!!! The last scene between Chris and Theta where they are deciding whether to end their lives rather than die horribly after being marooned in space brings a tear to your eyes. I believe I would decide the same thing as I think they did however, to stay together as long as possible.
Also I think the word 'Alien' in the title refers to something unknown rather than a being from another planet.
Last Stand (2003)
Only a revered silence is eloquent enough to describe this
I think words are an inadequate praise for this amazing and gorgeous short film. The silent communication between Jason London and Joseph Saul in this film is absolutely breathtaking. I had to just sit and think for about an hour after watching. I did not want to move or speak. It was beautiful and touching and brings tears to your eyes. The behind the scenes film was actually longer than the movie, and was packed with information on all the hard work and skill that went into making this movie. It was really impressive! I was totally astounded that it was made in only a week and on a low budget. I am in awe of Joseph Saul who played Goes Alone, and Jason London was sublime!(as usual) Gabe Torres is an artist beyond compare!
Why this incredible and moving picture did not receive the Acadamy Award for short film is beyond me!!!!!!
