Young Sheldon: Funeral (2024)
Brisket
What can I say? After we all had our hearts ripped out last week it was so good to see the first act with the characters not in tears but delivering the comedy we have loved since day one of this show. Then the scenes with George Sr. Started and what could Sheldon have said to his father that he didn't. Very poignant. Also seeing many of the characters making final appearances even if for a second was a real treat. I was especially happy to see Brenda and Billy Sparks. The scene with Billy and Missy was so precious.
Then comes the second act. The funeral. I cried. Everyone I've talked to that watched cried. What a powerful show all of us fans have fallen in love with the Cooper family because their story is real and it hits so close to home.
Young Sheldon: A Little Snip and Teaching Old Dogs (2024)
Muppet Balcony
I absolutely loved seeing what are most likely the last appearances of the East Texas Tech characters in this episode.
As we all know Sheldon never mentions any of his professors at the fictional school on "The Big Bang Theory". Kind of a shame I would have loved to have seen an episode with John Sturgess and Grant Linkletter in Big Bang as fumbling scientists I'm sure Lorre could have hired a couple of acting legends to play the parts.
President Hagemeyer played by Wendy Malick was always a treat. Just hilarious how Sheldon doesn't have a clue how smug and sarcastic she is.
Yes the 2 professors are the Muppet trolls.
Young Sheldon: A New Home and a Traditional Texas Torture (2024)
Severe Weather update cut me off during final scene
It's probably a good thing. The look on the family's collective faces just ripped my heart in two. Especially Missy. She was so excited about her new life in Houston as the cute girl with a pool. Almost like Brenda on 90210 except with her twin brother allegedly in a school for Special Education.
I'm just not sure George Sr. Had to go this way. I was hoping his passing would have been mentioned in the Georgie and Mandy pilot so we wouldn't all have our hearts ripped out tonight at almost 8:00 pm East Texas time.
George Sr.'s interactions with his friends and family were very heartwarming leading up to the end. I really hope this isn't the last we see of Lance Barber.
The Internship (2013)
Tiya Sicar is an absolute smokeshow.
Love Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. Without a doubt not their best effort but still enjoyable. I really like how their characters bond with the younger characters. Also see much satire in a likeable way portraying the generation gap between Gen Xers and Millennials.
At the end of the day the likeable elders save the day much like Vaughn and Wilson seem to do in every "frat pack" movie no matter how questionable their decisions lead to the happy ending.
This film maybe hits too close to home for younger and older viewers alike but before rhe credits roll the good guys win. From both generations.
Three's Company: The Money Machine (1983)
Terri in a bikini
Previous reviewer stole my thunder. Terri looked absolutely amazing and also noticed the late great Anne Ramsey before her Goonies and Throw Mama From The Train fame.
We will never see this kind of TV 40 years later. John Ritter and Don Knotts are comedic gold. And such a great period piece when ATMs were in their infancy in the early 1980's.
Always hilarious lines for Jack especially when he says "$100 Mama!!!" This episode also doesn't spare us the stock misunderstanding that Three's Company carried as a blueprint throughout its entire run.
Priscilla Barnes is so likeable the more I watch this show I believe she was the best roommate no shade to Suzanne Somers or Jenilee Harrison (both were outstanding) but the last 3 seasons with Terri are by far my favorites.
Family Ties: Lady Sings the Blues (1984)
Corky
So funny from start to finish. Yes many of us in the early 80s did think the 60s were kind of lame considering how prosperous peaceful and confident of a time we were living in.
Elyse wants to perform at a local open mic club and while Stephen has her full support the kids are not so keen on the idea. Especially Mallory who said she should do 'Beat It' (which was HUGE at the time) followed by a hilarious dance move emulating the late great MJ.
The real scene stealer was Corky the dummy. His swaying while Elyse performed at the end of the episode always slays me. And his message to Elyse telling her that her songs were good but it wasn't what people wanted to hear was heart felt and true.
I always thought MBB's voice was beautiful very Joni Mitchell like and I think this episode ages very well.
