Curfew (2019)

If Carmageddon Was A TV Series
7 February 2023
I'm not sure what's up with the negative reviews for this thrilling television series. The combination of zombies, conspiracies, and insane races is nothing short of brilliant entertainment.

There are likable characters who we predicted would win and unexpected characters who are killed off in an instant. The usual twists and unexpected turns in each episode keep you interested. Some viewers may find the occasional flashback scene annoying, but it is necessary for understanding the plot.

Curfew has flaws, and it could have been better with a larger budget for special effects and more time spent on writing. Overall, it's worth your time, and I'd recommend watching it on a weekend night.

Project Powerless, Another Snoozefest Flick From Netflix
14 August 2020
Special F/X is quite good especially the scene with the "Human Torch" but thats how far it goes other than that annoying kid and confusing plot. Best watched with the forward button at 4x or dont waste your time on this snoozefest.

Almost my trashed my TV
11 October 2019
This show almost made me trashed my own TV. The plot is pure garbage and the horrible cast is like putting salt on an open wound. Black Lightning is so much better than this gross vile so called TV series.

Brightburn (2019)

We Need To Talk About Brandon
10 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Deeply disturbing, gory but intelligently made, 'Brightburn' is one of the under-rated horror movies of the decade.

To just list all the elements that make this one of the classiest genre efforts of recent years would probably take up most of the thousand words I am allowed here. Suffice to say, it has a genuinely uncomfortable premise, uncompromising execution and a bone jarringly acted by Elizabeth Banks. Jackson A. Dunn is exceptional as the quiet creepy Brandon Bayer; an alien baby with similar origin to the Man of Steel with a twist.

At once heartbreaking and terrifying this could be the definitive latter day horror movie monster- if it wasn't just that little bit too close to Jeeper Creepers. But, when you have a winning combination of elegance and disgust in a verbose, super-powered villain, i cant help to compare these two.

David Denman totally sucks as Kyle Breyer ; and you can almost see all the cast acting their little socks off so as not to let the side down. So good, in fact, that I'm struggling to find one bad thing to say about it.

I can think of no greater compliment for a truly adult horror movie. No dear, you won't find happy teens in pastel t-shirts having slumber parties and discussing trendy scary movies, while some rap star tries to sell records on the soundtrack. This is a grown up film for grown up people. There is a reason horror films are for adults, and that reason is 'Brightburn'.

The Outsider (I) (2018)
7/10
An Excellent Homage To The Classics
10 March 2018
Firstly, do ignore the ratings given by Metacritic and do keep an open mind before watching this underrated gem. Imho, It is unfair to compare "The Outsider" with "Bright", the other sombre Netflix's star-studded flick as both are in a genre of its own right. As a "Yakuza" movie, "The Outsider" storyline remained faithful to the 60' 70's yakuza genre with its typical subject of betrayal and honour, in other words fans of the "Yakuza Papers Anthology" won't be disappointed.

Suprisingly, there are less dialogue which i find it essential to the storyline as it sets the zen-like mood and calmness throughout the movie. The pacing is so subtle and that one will not flinched at some of the violent scenes. The cast did their part very well although the chemistry between Asano and Leto could have been explored further. Overall, i enjoyed watching "The Outsider" and also the movie pays homage to the Japaneses classics. Highly recommended.

Hostel (2005)
7/10
This is entertainment
21 August 2006
I just don't get it,why are you people dissing this great piece of work by Eli Roth. it wasn't the best horror flick; but its bout entertaining fans of this genre. In Hostel; European beauties (booty) is well appreciated here. The mix of sex and violence is blended just nice like a perfect shot of b-52. Sometimes it makes me wondered the existence of such "hunting" organizations.

At the end;I enjoyed with glee; the part where the main character gets his revenge; reminds me a lot of the horror movies back in the 70s and 80s; i wish Eli would prolonged that moment even further.

Overeall Iam fully satisfied what Eli Roth had done with hostel; it will be a classic in years to come and Eli Roth will be remembered. Oli text message " I Go Home" LOL

Resident Evil (2002)
Below Average

I would very much prefer Romero directing this film. They isnt any gore in this film and the zombies merely scratching their victims,no body parts getting rip-off.The storyline for resident evil was good. There isnt any "Aliens" feel to it as claimed by the director. For the sequel, how about more gore or at least real zombies.
