Chhota Bheem (2008– )
10/10
What a series should be.
17 May 2024
Many times I've seen people complaining about the series and I just don't get the point of it at all. The series has more substance than anything that has come out in the recent time. Here's why it is such a great series, created by Mr. Chilaka and team.

Despite what many people say, Chhota Bheem was at top of its career from 2008 to 2013 with many great villains and storylines. The primary examples being Kirmada, Damyaan, Zimbara, Mayandri, Rangda, Roran, Valkeri, Kaifu, Agnamaan, etc.

2023 has also come as a celebration for the series as Green Gold has finally cracked a reviving formula with the new big picture formula featuring the greatest villain 'mahashaitan' of the series and building on that story. Even the stories which don't depend on the mahavillains are really great. So, please watch it.

Shrimad Ramayan (2024–2025)
10/10
The perfect version for Gen-Z
14 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
'Shrimad Ramayana' created by Siddharth kumar Tewary. Is like the biggest collection of stars to make the most glorious epic in the history of India and is the most glorious version of Ramayan in the recent generation After Ramanand Sagar, this is the near perfect version.

Sujay Reu and Prachi Bansal might be new faces to the audience but they have surprisingly done well in their respective roles as Lord Shri Ram and Goddess Sita.

Tarun Khanna is absolutely awesome, playing Lord Shiva once more. He is definently experienced in the role and has played it beautifully. Basant Bhatt was one of the many great choices when we first heard after his amazing work in Vighnaharta Ganesh.

Nirbhay Wadhwa is the perfect choice for Lord Hanuman after Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman. He fits the physical description as well as his dialouges seem more experienced than anything.

Niktin Dheer as Ravan was an odd choice at first glance, but it has definently proved to be really good after seeing his acting. Shrimad Ramayana is bascially the epitome of all actors in the gods sector.

When the remake is better than the original
7 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The Jungle book 2016 is absolutely awesome and realistic to the point of being, scary at a few points. Neel Sethi is a very endearing Mowgli and his acting is to be praised as he is literally looking at nothing and acting.

Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Bill Murray as Baloo, Idris Elba as Shere Khan, Scarlett Johnson as Kaa; are all great as anything. The movie is much darker than the original as it is loosely based on the original novel of 1894 which is dark and is more realistic, about a boy living in the jungle. The climax is epic and shows a nice theme from the beginning, that Mowgli is a Man and he should use his tricks.

One of the best fantasy movies
7 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
'The Prisoner of Azkaban' is a cinematic masterpiece and Alfonso Curon has really made this movie, feel like what we imagined while reading the books. Sirius, Lupin and Pettigrew all are great characters and really set the stage for the next year.

Michael Gambon has replaced Richard Harris as Albus Dumbledore and he also delievers a great deal of good acting. The movie is captivating as ever. The scene where Lupin transforms into a werewolf is extremely scary and scared me to death, as a kid.

Dan, Emma and Rupert are again, great for what they're given and the cast is absolutely pitch-perfect for every single role.

Japanese creativity at it's finest
6 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I remember watching the first episode at around seven years of age and since then, I've been touch all the way till Kalos. The series follows Ash Ketchum and his quest to become a Pokemon Master. Ash travels through almost ten regions and has finally retired in the current times.

Apart from admiring the pocket monsters (pokemon), The series shows just how creative can Japanese Anime get. Japan has proved time and time again for producing extremely creative products like the toho version of Godzilla and the Monsterverse. Pokemon just goes to show, how creative can Japan go to make something so beautiful, yet thought-provoking. This is definently a must for every single kid.

First ever blast into Hollywood
6 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was my first ever dive into the harry potter series and it still is enjoyable even now. This was interesting, from the moment I dived into the first scene. Daniel's voice sounds different in this movie when compared to the first one.

Christian Coulson is absolutely marvelous as Young Tom Riddle and really nails it in the role. The VFX and CGI are also extremely good, when compared to the first movie. The climax with the giant snake is chilling and the snake, at first, feels horrifyingly real. Even Fawkes and Ginny are great for their respective roles. I would absolutely recommend this movie for everyone.

A good marathi film with excellent representation
6 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's strike on Shaista Khan within Lal Mahal is one of the most fascinating tales of the Legendary Maratha Empire. Digpal Lanjekar's film really makes for an extremely satisfying watch, atleast in the second half.

Chinmay Mandelkar, Mrinal Kulkarni, Ajay Purkar and Ankit Mohan have almost perfected their roles. Anup Soni, however, does not fit in the role of the villain, Shaista Khan. Sameer Dharmadhikari, perfectly fits in the role of the villain. The film isn't action driven but the action is sufficient, only in the second-half. The planning is the most interesting part of the entire film.

A perfect intro for a series
6 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Harry Potter is definently a great piece of literature and it was a huge part of my childhood. This was the first movie of the series and after watching it, It feels really great to finally review it.

The Sorcerer's stone was directed by Chris Columbus and he has done an excellent job in the story. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint have done brilliant work as child artists, who were new to the world of cinema.

Richard Harris and Maggie Smith, have done really good jobs. Richard Harris really fits the description of a wise old headmaster as Dumbledore was. Alan Rickman is simply awesome and fits in the potrait of Severus Snape. Ian Hart also does extremely good in this film. Richard Bremmer also did a good job, But I wish the people had stayed true to the books. Nevertheless, It was good.

A much anticipated storyline, done well
3 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The main villain of the movie is the strongest character in the chhota bheem universe, introduced till date. He was there, all the way from the beginning. However, in this movie, He is very weak and his design also doesn't look quite original or threatning. This movie also incoporates the OG 'Mahavillains' of the Chhota Bheem series, so let's take them one by one.

(1) Kirmada: He is handled the best out of all the old villains. However, the introduction of Tabora really makes his origin story confusing. Still, He is a superhit blockbuster villain.

(2) Rangda: She has been made into a complete joke and is not threatning in the slightest. In her new big picture, the addition of comedy is not at all suitable.

(3) Damyaan: Why did they change his design ? He had a very good story arc but he just doesn't feel like the OG Damyaan from his great movies.

(4) Zuhu: Let's get this straight, Zuhu is not a very well known villain and he is not even that powerful. Someone like Zimbara or Roran would have been better.

The story is handled in a much more darker way with two literal 'deaths' in a Chhota Bheem movie, which is so glad. The 'New Big Picture' method really gives rise to excellent stories. However, the movie is still a really good watch.

A well-made Historical film in Maharashtra
3 April 2024
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has always been a great source of inspiration for all of us, Maharashtrians and director, Digpal Lanjekar has brought a great gem to the Marathi film industry in the form of this film.

The Beauty of Lanjekar's creation is comparable only to the legendary Bhalji Pendharkar and Nitin Chandrakant Desai. Let's get on with the casting first,

(1) Chinmay Mandelkar makes for an excellent role as Raje. Even though he does lack some characterstics, He makes for a very accurate and amazing potrayal.

(2) Mrinal Kulkarni, is only seen in a few glimpses but all of them are really good to be honest.

(3) Ankit Mohan, even though not from Maharashtrian, really gives it his all in this film.

Sameer Dharmadhikari and Ajay Purkar also give their best in this film to make it so interesting. The songs and BGM is absolutely marvelous.

A decent watch
3 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The first movie of 2013 after the blast of the previous year with Chhota Bheem and the Curse of Damyaan. It provides for a fun dynamic which is decent to watch, but not as impactful.

The story of the ancient africian folktale and the integration of it's animals and fighting techniques also makes the movie interesting, especially around the second half. Girboro is also a very terrifying villain, very clearly stated in the opening sequence of the movie.

The Climax, however, is very ironically anti-climatic and cannot pose as great of an impact for the movie. But the rest of the movie is very entertaining and keeps you chained to your seats.

A gem in the modern era
3 April 2024
The quality of Chhota Bheem had gradually begun to decline after 2015 onwards. However, this movie is still really great to watch as it has a good story. The story speaks of the legendary folktale of the island of Singapura which makes it a surprising entertainer.

The struggle for the plot device is also really entertaining to watch and so is the comeuppance that the villain eventually gets for his treachery. This is another great example of how to perfectly setup a great story with a not-so very powerful villain. Every aspect of this story is very interesting and you could watch it many times without getting bored.

A good idea, but extremely short-paced
3 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Let's just begin with the fact that this movie, with a really great storyline, does not feel like a movie. The movie before this, Rise of Damyaan started the trend of introducing old villains into the series once more. However, this movie couldn't helm on that concept as successfully.

The biggest mystery of the movie was ruined in the trailers itself which meant that the movie was ruined far before it even came. The same happened with Rise of Damyaan. However, the story is beyond brilliant with a very interesting concept. Bheem's strength is also enhanced to the level of being 'unrealistic', even for a Chhota Bheem movie. Hence, it is a decent pass for entertainment as it does deliever on that factor.

Nepal and Snow Leopards
2 April 2024
Bheem and Team's travel to the snowy mountains of Nepal and it's capital city of Nepal turns out to be more than a vacation trip when, a pack of snow leopards attack them to secure an evil motive.

The film shows many animals found in snowy regions like Snow Leopards, Yetis and Reindeers. The main villain wants to acquire power and be all-powerful by extracting divine powers. The Climax shows a big war between good and evil and an epic showdown with Bheem and the main villain of the story. The snow leopards have been proven to be really great villains and don't allow for any kind of useless comedy or filler.

A story about Pirates, excellent presentation
2 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
'The Crown of Valhalla' is a story about Bheem's clash with the legendary vikings of the folk land of Valhalla. The story of this movie is really great and keeps you on edge with twist after twist, that can keep you to your edge.

The Villain is extremely terrifying with a freaky image and horrifying motives. The Climax of the film is epic and really serves the purpose of the story very well. Bheem goes toe to toe with the evil Vikings to save the good ones from a long curse. The Story is dark and thrilling for a Chhota Bheem movie, but it gains a grip and keeps audience steady for it's whole runtime.

A masterpiece of a story
1 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is what made me so interested in the series, when it was gradually losing it's grip. The cultue of the Inca tribes of the Mayan site, 'Machu Pichu' is beautifully incoporated to make a good story.

The Story is hands-down amazing, all the way from the magicial bird to the Incan Tribe (Ixaba and his tribe) and of course, the villain. The Villain is a thing of beauty whether it be his freaking image which might scare people like never before, to his powers and the visuals. The Villain was the best part of the entire movie and the twist at the end, was amazing. It is an extremely good watch and I would recommend it to be watched.

An extremely nice story
1 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Chhota Bheem and Krishna team up to battle another evil which is far less threatning than Kirmada or Mayanadri. Zimbara is an anthrohomorphic tiger with evil magical powers who wants to release the demon.

The concept is later used in Mahashaitaan ka Mahayudh (10 years later).

Dhuni Baba is also used meticulously in the plot which can lead to some horror-ish scenarios. It also has a new soundtrack for the action sequences which is interesting to hear, nonetheless.

The final action scene with the integrated title song is nothing short of epic, A pity that it is so short but interesting anyway and it is a pretty nice watch.

A decent theatrical release
1 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Chhota Bheem travels to Bali to fight one of the strongest villains in his entire heroic career. This story has many interesting story elements that many movies cannot get right.

The Story of Rangda and Warongh is actually a Balinese folktale and it is shown in a very great way in this movie, unlike many other folktales. Rangda is an extremely strong and menancing villain who even gains much more power during the second half.

Chhota Bheem is much more kinder and gentle, than the rest of the series which makes sense for the plot. It also introduces Arjun who spans an entire series for himself later. The climax is really great and an excellent watch.

Most dangerous villain till date
1 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The third part of the Chhota Bheem and Krishna introduces Mayanadri who is really really dangerous and much more ruthless than her legendary brother, Kirmada. Mayanadri is actually really scary and might scare the daylights out of many kids. However, Krishna is shown to be more mortal than he should be, even in a fictional setting.

Chhota Bheem definently feels to have a lot of more strength which makes sense, as Mayanadri is a really strong villain. The final confrontation is absolutely great and what many movies can fail at doing. After scaring everyone in the movie, Mayanadri is the one who gets scared which really makes it a perfect conclusion. Kirmada, however, was of no use here. That is also the sign of a good movie, where it doesn't need special cameos to amp it up.

Interesting concept for a whole story
1 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
'Journey to Petra' has a very interesting concept with Bheem and Team journeying to Petra (A desert setting) to deal with a major mishap of the King, once more. However, this concept is later mastered in the 'Curse of Damyaan.'

The Villain is a simple dacoit who is just really famous because probably Bheem is not there in Petra. There is a mystery in the movie and it's decent. However, it doesn't match the level of Patliputra: City of the Dead.

Chhota Bheem feels a lot more aggressive in this movie which could have been a very interesting dynamic. The Background music for the action is excellent but it doesn't have it's original title song, which could have been interesting.

The Rise of Kirmada (2012 TV Movie)

Amping the original to a thousand
1 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
'Rise of Kirmada' bascially takes the original movie, 'Chhota Bheem and Krishna' (2008) and amps everything up to a million. Kirmada is bascially at his highest point, and in his strongest form ever witnessed and Lord Krishna has to use his powers to help Bheem to defeat him in the end.

The story bascially follows the story of the original. The only difference is that Krishna is there from the start and the war looks more spectacular. Chhota Bheem has his main weapon replaced, from a sword to a mace. Courtesy of 'Curse of Damyaan', this new version of Chhota Bheem is an absolute blast.

Raja Indraverma, Princess Indumati and other characters are also really great. There are almost no plot holes and the action, the comedy and the other things are well-balanced. Overall, this movie is a perfect conclusion to the Kirmada movies.

Best storyline based movie ever
30 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is exactly the reason why chhota bheem was so popular, back in the day. Here are the reasons as to why:

(1) Extremely good concept and story which really shows the creativity put into it.

(2) No useless.comedy or any kind of filler which dilutes or worse, destroys the impact of the scene.

(3) Nice frame structure with excellent VFX and CGI that make it hard to believe, it came out in 2012.

It has extremely vibrant backgrounds with awesome new characters which feel well deserved and don't drag the movie down. The villain is an absolute blast who takes things very seriously and is really intimidating and can often frighten you.

An excellent representation of a simple story
30 March 2024
This film is a great example of how representation can make a. Simple story feel like much more. Chhota Bheem's excursion to China really shows how to deliever a great story with even the simplest of the stories. Here's why:

(1) The villain doesn't have any stupidity or bad comedy added. He is as serious as anyone can be.

(2) The background music is awesome, for an original movie and gives really great vibes.

(3) The new characters are really great.

(4) There is a lot of cultural depth to the film.

It even had a best home-made award for short film. This was the film which set the standard for 2011 being the silver year for Chhota Bheem and has really upscaled the performance.

A perfect horror mystery story
29 March 2024
Despite being a kids movie, this movie gives vibes of a horror mystery story which absolutely dominates every single movie of Chhota Bheem before or since.

It is the sequel to the first movie, Chhota Bheem and Krishna, only it has a tighter story and better VFX. This movie definently would scare many childrens, owing to it's horror like nature, but it is most definently worth it. The villain whose story was only as interestiing in the previous movie, gets a much more interesting expansion in lore as well as his powers.

It also shows a heroic struggle of our hero and his best buddy as they try to solve the mystery and establish victory of good and evil.

Old is Gold
29 March 2024
I watched this movie when it came for the first time on TV screens when Chhota Bheem was only in it's developing phase, and I still enjoy it. Even if it is 16 years old, It has an excellent story and an excellent villain who is still the best villain in the entire series. Here's why it is so good:

Much before the era of crossovers, Green Gold managed to include a crossover that would go for years to come as the single best crossover of all time. The movie doesn't have unnecessary comedy as well as any plot armour. The villain has a surprisingly dark story that is really engaging and makes you dive deep into the story. The film, also gives a sense of conclusion which many films have not been able to deliever.
