My Family (2000)
Why is this so popular?
I can't understand why people find this series so funny. It has a good script, and Kris Marshall and Zoe Wanamaker are funny, but for me it's all a bit predictable. I think the youngest son is far too cocky and fake to be that funny, and although Robert Lindsay is a fine actor, I just don't think he fits into this role that well. Some parts are quite funny, but I certainly don't believe it's a top British comedy. But it is a matter of taste I suppose!
Let It Be Me (1995)
Not a Very Good Film
This film could have been so much better. It had a few nice points, but it was quite amazingly boring! It wasn't that the acting was bad, it was just that the script was pretty poor, and the plot was pointless.
Also, I just didn't believe that Gabe's fiancee had anything going on with her old high school sweetheart. And Gabe's fiancee was very annoying.
Perhaps dancing fans will enjoy the dancing scenes, but in my own opinion, this film is a bit if a waste of time.
Office Gossip (2001)
I like this comedy!
I'd like to say a word in Office Gossip's defence. While admittedly it may not be very original, it's still funny, or at least I believe it is. Pauline Quirke and Neil Stuke always pull off comedy characters well and, although the storylines are obviously pretty well-worn and predictable, and despite the occasional cringe-worthy line, this programme still makes me laugh!

Beauty and the Beast (1991)
Fantastic
This is one of the Disney greats. The songs are wonderful, and the voices for the characters are spot on. The ending is happy and surprising (after the beast apparently dies), and this is a real feel-good movie. A lot of Disney movies are predictable and simple, but this is clever and appeals to adults as well. Belle is simply adorable, and the humour is brilliant. First class.
The Bourne Identity (2002)
Great but a one bad point.
I thought the movie was fantastic and the action was smooth and exciting, but I thought that the sex between Jason and Marie was too soon - their attraction should have been more drawn out to create more tension. I think this kind of spoilt the ending - their being reunited should have been more of a surprise and a novelty, don't you think?
Mrs Merton & Malcolm (1999)
Very funny, one of the best, but alarmingly realistic
So many things about this programme were hilarious. It was very clever, as it highlighted the sad experiences of lonely and unsuccessful people in a darkly comic way. I suppose you really had to be English, and probably a Northener to fully understand why it was so funny and so true. You may also have had to had experience of people who lead similar lives to the characters, for example; gossiping about neighbours and casually talking, to get the jokes. Very touching, and I was greatly disappointed when I found out it was finishing, because it was one of the few programmes which was true and funny at the same time. Who wants perfect families, who are so-called 'typical', on the T.V? I think the people who critisized it were either fearing its truth, or too ignorant to to try and understand and relate to the humour. Caroline Aherne, Craig Cash and Henry Normal are geniuses, and I think everything they have written is funny.
The Wedding Singer (1998)
Not perfect, but still absolutely excellent, and the best ending EVER!
Strictly, I don't go for really cheesy films, but this one's so offbeat that it makes my list of all-time favourite films. Every time I see it, I forget how funny and romantic it is, and how good I feel inside when they get together. Bit sad... stupid...? Yes, maybe, but I totally love this movie. Adam Sandler is fantastic - so sweet, but also hilariously (makes-you-feel) sympathetic when he gets mad at his ex-fiance in the song he shows Julia. The ending is just how all films should end. The soundtrack is irresistable, and Sandler's singing very good and truly gorgeous. Drew Barrymore is so sweet and beautiful, and still remains my favourite female actress. You have to see it to love it! (obviously)
