Friday Night Lights (2006)
Good Story, great acting, bad camera.
Can somebody please hire a pro for photography? Seriously, it's a shame, what the "tremor camera style" does to a good story with great acting. I'm afraid it's gonna kill all chances for the show very soon. I must admit, I found it kind of interesting in the pilot, giving it a documentary touch, but that wore off pretty soon and turned into a very annoying misfeature of a show I would actually love to last for a long time. Kyle Chandler acts just great, especially opposing the ever "challenging" Buddy Garrity (Brad Leland). Also worth every second watching surely is Adrianne Palicki, not because of her natural beauty, but of the way she shows the evolving of her character from a superficial blonde bimbo into a deep and faithful young lady. In fact almost each of the leading actors is doing an excellent job, I'm just too lazy to write it all down.
The actual football scenes on the gridiron are thrilling, but crippled by the horrible camera work, too. I would really love to see a more detailed presentation of the sports aspect with more in-views to coach Taylor's tactics. It's a football show, so please give us a little more football.
But despite any annoying aspect, I will continue watching every episode as long as it lasts. For me, there just isn't enough football stories told, so I gasp every bit of it.
