Law & Order: Criminal Intent: Shandeh (2002)
Interesting episode!
Okay episode! A child born out of wedlock is literally a mamzer or "basturd" in English although this fact is never mentioned or even hinted at in the child's presence! Shandeh in Yiddish suggests a major source of shame or disgrace! Too predictable and simplistic an episode although D' Onofrio was superb as always and carried his character's role and complexities extremely well! Eames carried her role well as always but the episode could have used more positive portrayals of the numerous other good aspects of Orthodox, G-d fearing Judaism! Was an interesting portrayal nonetheless with interesting elements throughout!
The Twilight Zone: The Masks (1964)
Only Episode Directed by a Former Guest on Twilight Zone
Directed by Ida Lupino who appeared in the Sunset Boulevardesue episode which I just saw for the umpteenth time. Great episodes both and Lupino captures well the Gloria Swanson zeitgeist!
The Twilight Zone: The Dummy (1962)
Inspired one of Anthony Hopkins's first films, the 1978 film, "Magic" which I loved.
The quiet film "Magic" led to wide Ametican recognition and future megastardom for Sir Anthony Hopkins. Takes place in rural upstate New York. Great film it remains today!
Alfred Hitchcock Presents: The Last Remains (1962)
Inspired a future Columbo Episode
Loved this episode and recognized inspiring a future "Columbo" episode with the "Prisoner" star, Patrick MaGoohan, Ashes to Ashes, in 1998, as a funeral director/mortician in California who was caught by Peter Falk's Lieutenant Columbo as the clever cop who nabbed him because the cremated corpse was not fully gone!
