I was a great kids movie!
13 April 2009
I would give it a 8 out of ten, but since people are such haters I had to give it a 10 to try an balance out the negativity. I watched this movie with my brother (18) and my little cousin (14) and I am 23. I have to say i loved it. It was touching, cute and funny (much like the show with a longer, better plot).

I loved at the music sequences and how they naturally incorporated them, so that you get songs but its doesn't come off unnatural like in musicals. It is a Disney G rated film so yeah its not going to be edgy or Oscar material, but it was entertaining and i clapped after every performance, I cried at some moments, and laughed a lot (in large thanks to Earl). It was so good, but i like Hannah Montana the show. However, my brother thought it was good too and he just tagged a long and for my 14 year old cousin well, she couldn't stop talking about it (we both we super excited about the movie).

Love It: Thats Life
3 December 2008
I made me cry, laugh (more at the awkwardness that arose then actual humor), cringe, and more importantly feel. I am not a fan of shaky camera work cause it get dizzy easily (inner ear issue) and i know everyone is complaining about it, but i didn't find it a problem. The whole point was to make you feel like one of the wedding party's friends. I was like a documentary about a family, that happens to have had some major things happen in their lives.

Anne was so good i can't say it enough, they were all good i felt i was watching real people lives this out. The story never really lets you choose a side, you can't totally love Kym cause she seems to think everything is about her, but then you forgive her (that AA meeting,OMG) but it doesn't change the way you feel about the rest of the family either ("what do you want me to be").

The movie was moving and touching and there are times when you wish you could intervene and make then understand each other better, but we are on the outside they are living it. They lived with it for years we are only living it for two hours.

I loved the fact that there was a mix of races, with it having to be part of the plot or discussed . I am a New York, and my everyone i know is not white, or black, or Hispanic, or Asian. I have a healthy mix of everyone (others as i like to call it). People do have friends and family members of different races. The wedding's mix reminded me of my step-sisters wedding where there was her dad's family (white) her mom's (Latin) and her husbands side a mix of southern and New York African Americans. Their friend also had a little of everyone, so the music reflected that with Samba, Salsa, Hip-Hop, Random dance music, and an Irish love song dedicated to her dad it was great.

Great Show
17 November 2008
I loved this show, I catch is by chance on the CW this past Sunday (saw the third and forth episodes) and was instantly hooked. I missed having a great adventure, swords blazing, fantasy including and hero adoring show on TV. I immediately looked up the first two episodes that I missed online and watched them.

I loved the fire that lingers between Richard and Kahlan, the Confessor (I love that title/name). Zed is perfect, he adds that hint of humor while still maintaining his powerful presence. Now the action....it was great and captivating. I am a fan of taking bits of slow downed fighting snips within a fight that just make the scene grander (alla 300), and I adore me some sword play. I think people who liked Lord of the Rings, Zena, and just plain fantasy adventure stories will love this series.

I personally have read the books but never became an obsessed fan (I have enough obsessions) and I have been reading a lot of hating from fans of the book , saying that the show gets away from the books' story line and that Richard's character has been dumped down a little and he is also physically smaller. Both these things I do not have an issue with. I to thought he was stupid at times in the first two episode, but I think that they did that to show character progression and growth. He will learn in his journey (by the fourth he already seems much wiser). I like him smaller as well because is makes him a character to root for even harder, he may not look like a all menacing warrior ( alla Hercules) but don't underestimate him. He comes off more as a young man that destiny has chosen to become a hero but a hero that was bond to have a great destiny.

Although, as an obsessed fan of other books that have been adapted I understand the fans feelings, but I am also one that lets things go. When adaptations are not all I imagined, I take it as a separate thing. The show is just inspired by the novels and does plan on keeping the main story line. However, it is not a movie or a mini series but a TV series it will not follow the book to note and can not be expected too.

All and all I thought it was a great action adventure show to satisfy the fantasy lovers in all of us, just enjoy it. I recommend people to go watch and see if you'll loved it like I did. Additionally, Craig Horner and Bridget Regan are great eye candy and welding swords and kicking butts just makes them hotter.
