A wonderful story turned into a completely average and predictable film. A 9/10 if it's the first time you hear of Hachiko though (avoid spoilers).

Warning: Spoilers
While the original story is an absolute 10/10, the movie just drags and is just totally predictable.

The cast is good at looking cute and relatable but are as shallow as they can get. There's virtually no character development, the sidestories go nowhere and there's never anything interesting added to the original story. However, we all love dogs so it's hard to even notice these flaws while you look at this quiet Akita being cute. However, it seems the director doesn't know dogs either. For example, the Akita fails to recognize the scent of an important character at one scene. The characters talk to him but the body language doesn't match what they hear as a reply. It's also implied that the dog is somehowe special and loyal to Gere, but for some reason forgot about his previous owner. As soon as you start thinking, every scene falls appart.

By the first part of the film I was ready to give it a 3/10, but the ending is actually effective despite the poor execution. For example, there's a scene with a tree over the years. There's this dramatic wind that makes it really work, but on every single other instance you can tell there's absolutely no wind on that place which really breaks the immersion. Either way, I was in tears by the end despite predicting it all so I guess it earned 2 points back.

All in all, most of the movie was a complete waste of time. If you wanna cry, just skip to the end.

Thrilling from beginning to end

A race of aliens seem to be invading the earth by taking over unaware humans as hosts.

The story itself is the most appealing part of this anime, so I'll avoid spoiling it for you. In this anime you will see a lot of character development, lovable characters (who will not always survive) and empathetic villains. The soundtrack is also very good and there are no filler episodes. It is a bit gory, so it could be disturbing for younger audiences. The plot twists are well timed and it's very hard to watch just one episode at a time, so make sure you go to the grocery store before going to kissani- errr, the anime store. Yeah.

All in all a greatly written show for adults.

This is not the worse movie I've seen, but it's definitely not a good one. Do not believe the scores you see in IMDb, since there's an army of bots voting 10s here.

This is a decent movie to watch on TV or if you are a fun of the books. Casual cinema lovers should watch something else.

The good: -Everything looks kinda pretty and colorful -The acting is very good -The special effects are OK -It has an interesting view on how future societies could be

The bad: It's retarded as hell -The premise of the movie is pretty dumb, and it would probably end in an uprising -You have cammo experts who don't wear cammo -People with bows that decide not to snipe anyone -Assassins that decide to give a 10 minute speech in the open -Stupid, forced plot twists, that twist back to normal -There is no true character development. Characters are remarkably untouched after being part of a horrible situation.

In other words, if you wanna see teenagers killing each other go watch Battle Royale. It has more blood, a less stupid plot, and you actually care when someone gets killed. And no, HG is not a rip-off since most of the good stuff on BR is absent.
