The Last of Us (2023)
The Last of Us: A Masterful Adaptation of a Critically Acclaimed Game
"The Last of Us," the highly-anticipated HBO series based on the critically acclaimed video game of the same name, is a truly remarkable viewing experience that will leave you captivated from start to finish. The show expertly adapts the game's powerful storytelling and characters for the small screen, delivering a thrilling and emotionally charged journey through a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by a deadly fungus.
One of the show's greatest strengths is its commitment to character development and emotional depth. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey give outstanding performances as Joel and Ellie, respectively, and the script does a masterful job of exploring the complex bond that forms between them as they navigate the dangers of a fallen society. The series also manages to expand on the game's already rich world-building, delving deeper into the politics and power struggles of the remaining human settlements.
The direction and production design are also top-notch, with the series effectively capturing the gritty, desperate feel of a world on the brink of collapse. The cinematography and score also deserve special mention, adding to the overall atmosphere of the show and amplifying the emotional impact of key scenes. The special effects used in the series are also outstanding and adds to the cinematic feel of the show.
The series also delves into the psychological and emotional impact of the characters, and the audience can see the gradual change in the characters throughout the series. The script is well written and leaves a lasting impact on the audience. The pacing of the series is also well done and keeps the audience engaged throughout the show.
Overall, "The Last of Us" is a must-watch for fans of the game and newcomers alike. The series manages to stay true to the source material while also standing on its own as a masterful piece of storytelling. It's a thrilling and ultimately hopeful, tale of survival and humanity in the face of unimaginable horror that will leave you in awe.
It is the storytelling, powerful performances, and the intense atmosphere that will leave you captivated and sets it apart as an unforgettable watch. The series also raises some thought-provoking questions about the nature of humanity and the lengths we will go to survive. It's a series that will stay with you long after you've finished watching it."
Gekijouban Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (2021)
Not very good
This should be more of a straight to crunchy roll release. Honestly this is the worst movie I've seen out of the last like 30 movies.
Poor plot. Bad directing. Subpar animation. I definitely don't see what all the hype is about.
Invincible (2021)
A must watch
Just finished the entire 1st season, and I was on my seat from the beginning to the end. A real roller coaster of emotions. It is extremely good with and all Star voice casting. I love the graphic superhero violence. Finale even had me crying.
The Wilds (2020)
Witten by a teenage girl
The girls are unbelievablely stupid it makes the show really cringe to watch.
The Queen's Gambit (2020)
One of the best series I have ever seen
One of the best series I have ever seen - on all levels of production: great cast all the way around, beautiful cinematography, wardrobe, music score and an engaging and addictive script! I could not stop watching and feeling everything the main character felt and everybody in between. All of it mesmerizing, so much so that I had to quickly find the cast online to prove to myself that it was a Netflix movie/series - my brain did not believe it. The ending was magnificently touching; and you come to know that the leading actress and chess prodigy has not changed in her heart - she surely remains the child in the orphanage that we saw at the very start. I cried happy tears a few times.
Kiseijû: Sei no kakuritsu (2014)
Starts of strong ends weak
Last 5 episodes were so bad it ruined the series for me.
Dragon Ball Super: Doragon bôru cho (2015)
Sad to see DB fall so far
Huge fan of DB and DBZ. But the series went down hill fast starting with the Buu saga and just gets worst in super.
Hagane no renkinjutsushi (2009)
I'ts Okay 6.5/10
Finally watched the whole thing, 60 something eps. Few really good ep but mostly just mediocre. Honestly I would not have finished the series if it weren't for the high reviews.
Never seen the first series.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Worst Star Wars Movie
No plot, no story, no world building. Too many one-liners and poor humor.
Disney, You're going down a path I can't follow.
Ghost in the Shell (2017)
Shallow as a reflection
Everything felt very forced. The movie lacks a story. To me it feels like the cherry picked the awesome scenes of the movie/series and made a movie out of it.
Unfortunately, they butchered everything and missed the entire point of the Ghost in the Shell series and turned it into a lame action movie with zero substance. What happened to all the thought provoking ideas from the movie/series? I can't wait till someone does a comparison of the original scenes vs these remade ones, what a joke.
5/10
