Cirkus (2022)
Why so grim?
I wonder why people were so harsh in criticizing the film. I see that -based on the usernames- it is mostly Indian people who gave the lowest scores. You should be proud. I saw some reviews who slammed the actors, actresses and director. What are your criteria? Does every film have to be an Oscar nominee in predefined standards?
I think this is one the best films I have ever seen. I am over forty and I have enjoyed every second of it. It felt good while watching. I laughed a lot. It was fun, highly visual and captivating. It was like a fairy tale but based on real events.
I am certainly suggesting this film to my kids. I'm sure you can spend hilarious family time with kids and of course adults as well.
Into the Night (2020)
Exaggerated and superficial acting
Season 1 was better in that it attracted attention with its unique plot although there were lots of goofs. So, I could focus on the bright side.
However, in season 2, although I know nothing about acting in a professional sense, acting looks like a school play acted by unwilling high school teenagers. So, cheesy...
So, 6 points for the first season and the plot.
Chao ji de wo (2019)
Unique plot
It's more than "Give it a shot", somewhere near "Must-see". Plot is attractive and amazing. It's nothing like I have seen before. I can also vouch for special effects. The recent Chinese movies like "Special Me" or "Space Sweepers" are promising for sci-fi or fantasy seekers in the future.
I cannot understand the harsh criticism from people. When there is a limited selection of movies during the COVID-19 pandemic, these are gems. If you are a fantasy/sci-fi enthusiast, you will certainly like it.
Yedinci Kogustaki Mucize (2019)
Break down the prejudices, get boxes of paper tissues...
As an admirer of sci-fi and fantasy productions, I rarely spare time for dramas. My wife was browsing the Netflix menu and she was curious about this movie when she saw the trailer. I was writing some notes on the laptop when she started it. A few minutes later, I left the laptop and was drawn to the movie.
It was one of the best movies I had ever seen. Heart-touching, moving, sad, whatever you call it, you'll love it.
But you need to know a bit about the setting as well. It all happens during the period of military coup of 1980. People are under pressure. There is an ongoing clash between left and right both in prison and outside. Most people strangely disappear under arrest.
If you want to resuscitate your dying soul, give it a chance.
Cobra Kai (2018)
Awesome!!!
I cannot believe the series has had a such an impact on me. It's rad... When I start watching an episode, I lose track of time and bingewatch all. Then, I regret having watched all and not having new episodes to watch. I hate this cycle! But as an 80s kid who's watched the Karate Kid movies over and over again and besides as someone who has devoured whole lot of seasons of hundreds of other series within a few days so far, I must tell you that Cobra Kai has touched my heart and I hope we can watch as many seasons as possible. Big applause...
Dag II (2016)
Propaganda?
I cannot deny the fact that the movie is based on traditional Turkish heroism, which might not appeal to people from different countries at all.
However, I just can't understand why people are obsessed with its being Turkish propaganda. If it's an Italian military film, it will propagate the facts from the Italian point of view. If it's Brazilian, you will see a Brazilian interpretation of the world.
Why the heck do you all people accept the American propaganda imposed to you in all genres of films including horrors or cartoons?... The good guys are always Americans, they are the strongest, they care, they are always right... Why don't you question this? Stop being a sheep.
London Has Fallen (2016)
Pure American Propaganda
I somehow believe there is a motivation by the USA for the production of this kind of movies. Unbeaten, unfailing, great America... It's pure propaganda. The eastern societies or countries, especially Muslim ones, are always the bad guys with evil plans and the world's biggest arms dealer, America, is always in pursuit of bringing justice to the world by killing those who have bought weapons from them.
Anyway, Mike Banning is the one-man army again. England, France, Japan etc. fail but America manages to gain a victory out of others' failures. Mike Banning dodges bullets and rockets but somehow the men on his right, left and behind are always shot by the barrage of machine guns and RPGs. I miss Rambo movies...
Besides, Mike Banning tells one of the terrorists something like "Go back to your country, *UCKHEADISTAN" implying Pakistan. It's very disrespectful, irresponsible and unacceptable. No one can call a whole country a name like that.
