Basket Case 3 (1991)
Basket Case..literally..times 3(0)
One hell of a movie to review. On one hand, so many things happen here (and I don't mean plot wise) you get lost in the sheer absurdity, and on the other hand, you wonder can this really be called a movie.
But it is a movie (sadly for the most of the movie going audience), and it's completely of the wall insanity. It's a shame that dialog doesn't seem to be one with what happens on the screen as than it would be just plain perfect. Freaks are abound in this one, getting a lot of screen time making it a perfect movie to watch with same minded friends and some, God forbid, poison of your choice. I didn't see the second installment, but I sure will now.
Birdemic: Shock and Terror (2010)
Vietnamese Uwe Boll, lower on cash but higher on stupid/insane
This is one of the rare "Hey, I just got a camera, let's film something" abominations that I enjoyed..but I use term enjoyment loosely as this thing is, what I call, an endurance testing vehicle.
It doesn't quite have the charm of The Room (another home made keeper), but it excels in all of the other trashy movie checklist dogma(s)..absolutely no plot, absolutely no acting, absolutely no special effects, absolutely no directing/editing/sound, absolutely NOTHING. And that is what keeps this boat from sinking brutally as I have yet to find such an inept attempt at recording something. Anything.
It was interspersed with boring bits and some headache inducing moments. They were worthy adversary but if you can manage to go through them you will be rewarded as I was.
As a lot of reviewers mentioned, lead character is the funniest. Even the most mundane actions such as walking and talking seem strange to him as he tries to mimic these actions.
All in all, a must see film, either for laughing at it or watching it in disbelief.
Belongs in Top 5 Bottom barrel (for now).
Alien vs. Ninja (2010)
Seriously?
My god, I laughed and laughed...with it and at it. I was of course expecting a romp, but not.."this". They knew what they were filming from the start and it shows beautifully. Choreography was great, cinematography ditto.
As to people dissing this work of art I only say : loosen up, guys!
"revdkooi771" said that aliens and ninjas looked cheap blah, blah. Of course they look cheap, look at the budget. Look at the title of the movie. Does it reek with seriousness? I think not. It's like I buy a Justin Beiber CD, listen to it and say it's bad, the music is amateurish...of course it is and it's our fault if we can't turn on our brains and deduct that before we waste time, money and remaining grey cells.
But hey, everyone has a right to speak his mind
Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006)
Underdog!!
Once a year I come across a movie like this, that takes you completely by surprise..first few minutes I had a feeling that this will be a bore and I'm mostly right about that. Not tonight. Not with Leslie. He probably became what he is because of his name and taunting he must of endured. Now on the serious side:
The acting was very good, mostly convincing..people behind the camera show how to make a great film with ridiculous budget and turn a rather straightforward story into something fresh, original and twisted. Just kudos to everyone included, even the caterers :)
Look no further. Leslie is behind YOU, not the mask.
Termination Man (1998)
Tagline: "Termination of Brain cells..."
...but what sweet Termination it is.
Movie consists only of our protagonists running from something or towards something or someone. And a few silicon shots.
This waste belongs up there with such classics as "Manos:Hands of fate", "Alien vs. Ninja", "The Room" and the rest of otherworldly excrement's ever to grace our blissful third eye.
Although it is so funny that can be watched "on normal terms", I wholeheartedly recommend to alter your perception to fully appreciate the absurdity of actions of everyone who was involved in this Holy Grail of a movie.
Oh boy..enjoy!!!
Evil Aliens (2005)
Excellent Stuff!
*May contain minor containers* It is always great to see workable intentional trashy movie. Many,many...many people try it, but end with a nasty infected paper cut from the uninspired script. "Evil Aliens" is not one of those flops, it glides almost from beginning to end with little to none fillers. Unknown actors do their job diligently and with clever script, some gore, funny sex scenes and Welsh hillbilly's this was a refreshing experience. The movie reminds me of "Shaun of the Dead", so if you liked that one (well who doesn't) give this one a try. If you didn't watch "Shaun", don't expect this movie to be some great actioneer or something.
Batman: The Movie (1966)
Delightfully over the top!!
My first review here was yesterday with so called "masterpiece" Dark Knight..I gave it 1 star, just because it was so over-hyped and more importantly, void and empty.
Second review is this little gem. It was a great fluke that a friend brought Batman, only a day after I spewed fire on Dark Knight. And I thank him for it, because this film was an absolute stormer..
Be warned, from start to finish you'll be in a world of hurt..you will literally look like the Joker, your jaw will stiffen, and for the first time in your life you'll be able to see your abs. This movie just doesn't let up.
It's totally impossible for me to say anything about the movie itself, but that it resembles Marx Bros. stuff..Oh yes, Batman and Robin's deduction here is unbelievably funny..Sherlock,crawl back in your opium room, these guys will take it from here.
Highly recommended by "Shark Repellent Co."
The Dark Knight (2008)
COLOSALLY over-hyped crap-ola!!!!
Unfortunately, this is my first review here at IMDb. And it HAD to be this "movie"..
First of all, I enjoyed Batman franchise and, of course, start of Nolan's career..he promised so much!! Boy was I in a surprise.. After hearing media bragging the acting of sadly, now deceased, young Ledger I thought OK, Nolan is back in his saddle where he belongs..
Not only I realized he's not back, but that he's discovering new depths of personal and spiritual descension. Christopher, if you're reading this, please take time and sit back in your comfy chair, turn off the lights and start pondering on your future..This is the point of no return, choose carefully. Making good films, or blah films like this.
And to people calling this art, just one remark..the only art involved in this film was PR, and nothing else. Filmmakers, stop letting your financiers do the "work" your film should do by itself..exploiting someone's death like that really makes my stomach churn.
Chris come back to basics, and satisfy yourself as well as true film lovers. Forget cash..wish you all the luck, mate.
PS. Dreck Knight's optimum grade should not be over 6, but I voted it 1 because it seems mucho people need a brain transplant
