I saw this movie on HBO a few years back and I am still scarred from it. The story line itself wasn't all that bad and the acting was mediocre at best. My question is: WHY DID DENNIS HOPPER HAVE TO DO FULL-FRONTAL NUDITY?????? Pointless for the sake of the story, not to mention just scary to see. What were these people thinking?

I was reluctant to see this movie because I knew it didn't have a happy ending. After prodding from several people, I sat down to watch it. After bawling my heart out for 45 minutes, I had to watch it again. There is something about this movie that touches me and everyone else I've talked to that has seen it (even men!) I watch it all the time and love it even more every time. Shane West gave an absolutely amazing performance and I cannot wait to see him in future movies (it helps that he's a beautiful man, too!) Mandy Moore surprised me with her performance. She was excellent as well. This film deals with subjects such as death, redemption, religion, and love - and does it wonderfully.
