La Brea (2021)
La Brea Season 2 episode 2
I watched an elderly man, on this poorly written show, kill what appeared to be a prehistoric grizzly bear with a small lock blade pocket knife.
Wow, this show is absurdly ridiculous. I laugh through every episode. It's like Land of the Lost high on opioids and toilet brewed whiskey.
How in the world do you fall through a hole in the future to the past with cars, guns, food, planes with scientists, doctors, soldiers, and engineers and you can't find resources smh lol. I mean I could have sworn I seen a whole Apple Store fall through a sink hole.
This show is so blatantly bad to the point of pure hysterical laughter.
Walker (2021)
It has nothing to do with Walker Texas Ranger!
I attempted watching the show on multiple occasions. It might have stuck with me more if they had just given the show a different title.
The original show with Chuck Norris was more or less a tv sequel to Lone Wolf McQuade. When they originally pitched the show to CBS, the producers couldn't get the rights for the original film. So, Norris and company renamed the character Cordell Walker, who is technically Lone Wolf McQuade.
I loved Jared Padalecki in Supernatural but I'd sort of grew up on Chuck Norris, Bruce Lee, and every other martial arts movie.
When in comes to most creative works, I just find that certain things should be either left alone or you do something new and different. What was done with Walker was sort of lazy and uninspired.
We live in a world where everyone is trying to rewrite history, change art, redefine truth, and rewrite great literary works into something that fits todays modern narrative of wokeism; even if it means editing out names, genders, functions, and noted historical moments.
Supernatural: Inherit the Earth (2020)
This Episode is not the last
After reading the other reviews, it's obvious people just don't get continuity or plot.
In addition, this isn't the last Episode, we still have one more to go.
It was pretty obvious, Castiel was going to die in some sort of bizarre fashion (Note: Cas was taken by the Empty - so, I doubt he's actually dead). There was no reason, to continue, to beat the audience over the head, with "Cas & Dean's" Bromance. The "I hate you" and "I love you" argument(s) were drawn out too long and became completely annoying. Sooner or later that plot device was going to have to come to an end. There's been dozens of episodes of verbal and nonverbal closure to their "relationship arc". I was glad it was done!
Then we have the Sam and Dean in a race against who? The Almighty ...
I mean, you really have to ask yourself this, "Do I really have time to cry over the loss of anyone or everyone before going up against the maker of Heaven and Earth"?
The answer is no! You might as well just, stick your head between your legs, cry, and then die.
There was also the major unending question with Jack, "What is my purpose"?
Is sacrificing myself - my purpose? Am I the Antichrist? His Father Lucifer would have loved him to step up to the plate. But no, Jack has now become the Almighty, All Knowing, and Ever present "god" of the Universe or is He?
Again, this isn't the final episode, we've got one more episode to go, before the series is thrown into syndication Hell.
The Sector (2016)
Why does this movie exist
I'm a sucker for sci-fi post apocalyptic films but this wasn't worth the watch.
This movie is badly shot, horribly scripted, and poorly cast. B movie doesn't mean bad film; for some reason people feel that producing a B-movie means, "Lets go make the worst low budget film ever".
There were several actors in the film that I wished had better lines or bigger roles in the film. I couldn't figure out why they cast the actor that they had as the protagonist.
(spoiler alert) I really didn't get the sub-plot, with the alternate reality nonsense, it was completely irrelevant. I couldn't figure out why they stuck Lance Henriksen in the role. It just seemed like they wanted to get people to watch their movie; so they got certain celebs to show up for bit parts in their film. Bit parts that just made no sense to the plot of their film.
Then there was the very noticeable plastic props. I mean really, at least put something on or over your "Toy" weapons; to hide the glare of the plastic from the camera.
I have no idea who helped find the locations and created the sets for the film. They could have at least used filters for the shoots, set up lighting, and found barren settings to film in if they had a low budget to no-budget.
Then there was the digital blood; it looked noticeably fake.
I've seen Hollywood quality, 10 minute shorts on Youtube, filmed with an iPhone, produced by High School Students, that look, sound, and feel better than this movie.
There's no excuse for this at all ...
The Posthuman Project (2014)
God Awful movie...
I really wanted this to be good. I had a long day and stayed up watching this on Amazon Prime. I was so dissatisfied that I had to say something.
I have no idea who wrote this script. They should have at least sat down and did a table read of the dialogue. Most of the lines had horrible delivery, the jokes (there were none), and most the dialogue was way too long or unnecessary. The first act of the film we are introduced to the protagonist but he doesn't carry the film. There's literally nothing of interest about him or the cast throughout a 100% of the film. His supporting cast has more uninteresting dialogue, background, and action than the lead. It took half of the movie to find out what happened to the lead characters legs, his father, and his relationship with his girlfriend.
Nothing holds your interest through the first 20 minutes of the movie. When they do get their powers the lead character isn't even noticeable anymore and he does nothing of interest accept lose his powers at the end of the film; which made absolutely no sense. Maybe it wasn't the intent of the writer or the director but if they were to go back and review the film; they basically took the main characters powers away. The protagonist at the end of the film (at graduation, states that the last blast fixed him, his uncle, father, and his uncles facilities have vanished.
So, he lost his lame healing powers, after recovering from a gunshot to the head, over powering his Uncle with the help of his brother, and getting blasted with the Zero power gun again. Everyone else apparently kept their abilities. I was like what a waste of time!
The other horrible thing, was that the camera kept floating (the jitters) back and forth. (smh)
It was hard to believe that they shot this movie with a RED Digitial Camera. I'm like haven't you ever heard of a Steady Cam, Post Production, Story boards, editing filters, or even lightning? This movie looked like they wrote something, shot something, added lame special effect, and that was it. They couldn't have gone over the script, they didn't re-shoot scenes, didn't work out any of the action or fight scenes, and they didn't work out the plot or the effects.
The production was just horrible. I've seen better filming on Youtube, with an iPhone / iPad, no budget, made with a lot of imagination and real planning. http://filmriot.squarespace.com
It is a great thing that they put something together but by no means is it any good. It is like making a beautiful and very poisonous chocolate cake. It looks good but it's just gonna kill you in the end.
