New Girl (2011)
Awesome and Funny
I found this comedy to not only make me laugh but it managed to be at times very cute but not sickly. The first American sitcom I have seen manage this balance, it is pleasant and inoffensive.
There were times when I couldn't watch because of the cringe factor, which is something that many US sitcoms often lack. OK the lads are not BAFTA winners, but we have to admit that but Zooey is amazing and far from steals the show and makes up for the lads and lets face it, she's the girl next door. Men want her and women want to be her.
There were moments I cried with laughter. Well done for finally making this and please hurry up and make a second season.

Donnie Darko (2001)
Darkly comic, brilliantly written
From what friends both in the UK and US told me about this film I was expecting a straight forward story about a schizophrenic high school kid. I'm so glad I was wrong, Donnie Darko is a brilliantly written and directed masterpiece. In the same way that A.I. left me feeling depressed for days afterward, this left me thinking about what really happened. I can see that this film will take a good few watches before I am anywhere near undertanding it. The sci-fi/fantasy elements combine almost perfectly with the suspense. Watch it, now.
Street Fighter (1994)
Don't bother
The film is awful, from start to finish. If you've ever played the game (even once) you will be disgusted by the terrible use of such a great story. The characters are wrong, the setting is wrong and the film is just WRONG. I feel sorry for Jean Claude van Damme and Kylie Minogue whenever I pass this film by. As for Raul Julia, this was a horrible end for such a great actor.
