Dark Angel (2000)
Wish it could have survived, but needed better writers.
The pilot was awesome, and the first season was great. We couldn't wait to watch it every Friday. Jessica was excellent for the part and played it extremely well. The supporting cast also did a great job, and the characters and plot was working very well.
When the first season ended, we couldn't wait for the second season. Unfortunately, as the second season progressed, it appeared that the story writers were running out of steam. It seemed to me that they made a wrong turn with the plot along the way, and they couldn't seem to find a way to get back on track. It was an awesome show, it definately had potential, and it is unfortunate that it had to end like it did.
Heat (1995)
LA Takedown was better.
At first glance I thought this would be a great movie. Upon reading the movie description, and the character's names I realized that I had seen this movie before. It was a made for TV move titled LA Takedown, directed by Michael Mann. I was very excited when I first saw that Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, and Val Kilmer were starring in the movie. Unfortunately, about an hour into the movie I was ready to fall asleep. I am usually upset when I see the scenes that were deleted from great movies when I watch them on DVD, but this movie was the opposite. It would have been much better had they cut the movie down to 90 to 120 minutes. If you have the opportunity, watch LA Takedown and you will understand when you see the difference.
L.A. Takedown (1989)
Better than HEAT
This is the exact same story as the movie HEAT staring Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, and Val Kilmer. The primary difference between LA Takedown and HEAT is the fact that LA Takedown doesn't drag on for 172 minutes. Even though it was a made for TV movie, it had a great plot, the actors did a great job, and it was much more fast paced when compared to HEAT. I still have it on video from when I videotaped it the first time it was on TV. I own HEAT on DVD, but if given the choice I would rather watch LA Takedown. I highly recommend it if you have an opportunity to watch it.
