The Last of Us: Long, Long Time (2023)
The best episode of TV history
Enjoyed this as a full-length movie. Hats off to Nick Offerman and the creators of The Last of Us. The first episodes do the show were good, but this was something else altogether. I expected something gory or ugly, but actually was pleasantly surprised it was different that the first episodes.
The cast, story, cinematography and costume design was excellent.
It will stay in my mind as a story for love, friendship, longing and fulfillment in life. I expected something ugly and distorted, but ended up getting something beautiful. Nick Offerman, brilliant as always, deserves an Emmy for his role, excellently portrayed.
Snowpiercer (2020)
I don't understand all the negative reviews, this is not the movie, stop comparing the two
I' want to star by saying that I absolutely loved the film and also read the first graphic novel about Snowpiercer!
Then again, this is neither of them and still, I somehow had a similar vibe from the series, they have taken the idea and have started to build it further with some small adjustments.
The acting and writing so far are great, definitely enjoy it and can't wait to see the next episodes!
The Mindy Project (2012)
Amazing show, so funny!
I've not laughed so hard in a long time!
The characters, cast writing are all great. I thought it would be a silly romantic comedy, which is not usually my thing, but it's so much more than that. Office humor better than the one at The Office, quirky characters and a hint of dark jokes.
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019)
Great performances by Zac Efron and Lily Collins
Very interesting and enjoyable film. Wouldn't be the same without the masterful performances by Zac Efron and Lily Collins.
A bit less dark than anticipated, but definitely worth a watch.
Annihilation (2018)
Ignore the critics! One of the most impressive films I have seen in recent years!
I had delayed watching the film due to the mixed reviews, but I didn't have very high expectations, but this film blew me away, one of the most gorgeous visuals, thought-provoking script and absolutely mind-blowing overall result!
I absolutely loved it and will recommend it to friends! After seeing Ex Machina and Annihilation, I am sure there is a lot to come from Alex Garland's potential, one of the greatest sci-fi directors of recent years!
Brexit: The Uncivil War (2019)
Brilliant film, absolutely eye-opening tale of a maddening situation
Very well portrayed, with a strong actor cast, concise and to the point!
Must watch for anybody in the UK, Europe and US given the current political situation across the globe!
One Day at a Time (2017)
Loved it from the very first eposode!
Amazing series that can make you cry out load, think, put yourself in other people's shoes and even tear up.
I would strongly recommend it and I'd love to see it reviewed!
A Series of Unfortunate Events (2017)
I enjoyed it so much I read all the books and watched the film, still loved it more than any of them
This series is full of witty remarks, dark humour, thought provoking experiences, as well as excellent acting, beautiful graphics and a pinch of mystery :)
As an adult myself, I quite enjoyed the series from the very beginning to the point where I decided to watch the film with the same title, as well as to read all the books. I did both and I still liked the series most of all (although the books are quite similar, the series does give a few more hints of what is going on in my opinion :) ) I just finished watching the last season and I wanted to share my love!
I strongly recommend it for people who are not afraid to go past the "don't go further" signs!

The Paradise Suite (2015)
Brilliant Film
One of the most moving films I have seen in a long time. The film touches a few topics well worth discussing and speaking on behalf of people whose voice cannot be heard.
For ordinary people, the topic of human traffic seems like a far away illusion that exists somewhere far away in countries people don't care about, but it exists and it matters.
Additionally, another key element of the film is the multicultural and multinational modern Europe and how many lives are affected by that. It doesn't matter if it is highly skilled migrants or people whose labour is being exploited.
Fighting for your rights is not always an option. This film does an excellent job in proving just that point.
I have already recommended the film to a few people and I would definitely see it again.
Bienvenue à Marly-Gomont (2016)
Brilliant satire about race, culture and living as an immigrant within a different society!
Absolutely loved this charming and light-hearted satire!
A lovely family friendly perspective on race and living as an immigrant in an unwelcoming community. The daily challenges that the main characters face make for a touching tale that will make you laugh and cry.
As an expat myself, I can definitely relate on a personal level with the incredibly truthful way this film portrays the challenges of trying to immerse within a new and very different society.
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017)
As a Guy Ritchie fan, I found this to be one of his best works, but a bit more accessible to the wider public
In short, I am a fan of most of Guy Richie's films to date and I enjoyed the combination of a well known tale with a modern twist, a hint of British humour, some of the typical Ritchie storytelling, good actors and a great soundtrack!
It isn't too similar to a lot of his other works, but just enough to feel that it is a Guy Richie movie and very well complemented by the musical arrangement.
It certainly is for everybody's taste, but I would definitely recommend it!
