Emily in Paris (2020)
Very good if you know Paris.
First off, I read a bunch of reviews of people complaining that the Paris shown in this show is not "real". Let's get a grip! This is a show supposed to be fun and entertaining and of course things look cleaner than may be at times. Just like NYC, it's a disaster but often not shown as such, anyway...
Many of you are basing your opinions in your two week vacation in Paris, but you actually don't know Paris, you have not lived there for years like I have. In Paris you get the most touristy places usually overcrowded but you also have parts for Parisians and tourists are rarely seen there, just like in any major town. I've also lived in Manhattan, and if you go to the lower east side it's quiet compared to Soho. Just to give an example.
The series may show some French stereotypes, and come across unrealistic financially speaking to some, but at the end of the day, in Paris you easily make 5000 euros a month minimum, if you make less, you probably don't have a career and therefore belong in the lower class part of the society. Emily, she is an American, she probably makes more.
French people do have a tendency to underestimate Americans, but I'd say that just doesn't go for French, but Europeans in general.
Remember we are in the middle of a pandemic, things are not pretty and won't be in a long time. Netflix focuses on creating fun content to watch, and this is a very fun show. Stop trying to be critics, this is not a show made for harsh criticism, but to be watched and enjoyed for what it is.
