My name is Simone,
I am a University Student from Victoria Australia. I study Psychology at Monash University Gippsland. I am 19 years old, this is beginning to sound boring and so average and I am far from an average person. I am the Media Director of the Student Residences Association, which doesn't really mean much but it is a cool title and I love to throw it around so that people think I am cool. Even though most times I am trying to fight against the need to be cool. Hmm gee here is an obvious thing, I love movies. I have a pretty good collection, well I think so. I really can't be bothered mentioning them all here, but I love Donnie Darko and the Lord of the Rings Movies, plus so so many more.
One day I want to be a psychologist or a counsellor, but I would really love to be a film critic, but I have barely done any posts on here, but that is cause I am generally busy.
Nothing interesting really happens here, I wish it did, but it means that there is more time to watch movies which has to be a good thing.
anyways if you arn't bored yet I bet you will be if I keep writting. So I will go but feel free to write me a message cause I love mail.

Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation (1986)
A great kids movie, a great lesson for all
This installment of the care bear movies. Is i think the best if you actually want to know how these characters began. Many people may find this storyline contradictive if you have seen the first movie. But that is the point such as the name second generation. I think this out classes the first movie in several ways. It shows characters in a way that reflects well on the T.V series but it also shows a beginning for example you can't just have turned up in care a lot. Ther story begins when the care bears ship is attacked by an evil being named dark heart but they are saved.
Recognised for their deeds of caring the stars offer them safe haven and a home above the Earth and among the stars. In this time you see how the care bears got their symbols and how they grew up. They eventually defeat dark heart in the end and watchers get to relearn som e important lessons about caring. This movie was the perfect springboard for the successful cartoon series which was playing at the time, and answered many questions. This movie would be cherished by any child who had found the T.V show care bears enjoyable to watch.
In a nutshell the care bears shows us how to care and be friendly it sets a perfect example to kids. It also shows how to fight the obstacles that your caring will encounter this shows this in characters such as Dark Heart in this movie. Feel free to make more movies as this is one show kids won't learn violence from
Benny & Joon (1993)
this is a pretty cool movie
I haven't seen this before and i just thought that it was so cute. It pulled no punches in displaying the difficulties that Joon faced in her mental illness and how this affected the people around her while still being an absolutely adorable movie about romance between two misfits. I really loved this movie it is an awesome romantic comedy (which is still based in reality) and i would recommend it to people. Oh and Johnny Depp and Sam was hot and young and very very hot... i am not surprised he won sexiest man of the year as voted by People magazine.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1988)
this is so cool
I love this movie. It is so awesome, they really put a lot of work into making sure that is closely allied the book which, as an avid fan of the books, i really appreciated. Admittedly some of the representations of the fictional creatures is done as cartoons but considering the time that this was made and the budget it is completely understandable and does not detract too much from the overall film experience. I honestly think the whole series that they made are fantastic and well worth watching, especially for those who like me, love eighties fantasy movies.
Blow Dry (2001)
bright and eccentric.
With an all-star cast this wacky, out of sorts movie, is the type one does not usually see, but due to the eccentric colours and the lure of Josh Hartnett, I decided to make it a viewing.
The movie is set in a small British town called Knightley, as we follow the life of Shelly (Richardson) as she tries to reunite her family before the cancer she has been struggling with overcomes her. The whole movie revolves around a national hair cutting championship and Shelly, Sandra (Griffths), Phil (Rickman) and Brian (Hartnett) must all work together to with the coveted golden scissors.
Fortunately the different uses of hair proved rather intruiging rather than comedic as hoped, but still held up the movie, and little snide comments from Phil (Alan Rickman), made the movie all the worth watching. With some sad intrepid scenes, and some abnormal realities for a small British town, such as Shelly (Natasha Richardson) and Sandra (Rachel Griffths) Lesbian relationship.
Unfortunately the let down seemed to come from Josh Hartnett and Rachel Leigh Cooke, who were the original reason for my watching the film. They seemed totally out of place in the small British setting, with some over the top British accents pouring out of Josh's mouth. It also seemed that Rachael's character was actually void of character and was only placed in the movie to look cute and pout every now and again, and bungle up most things that come before her. As blank expressions seem to be her forte she can be forgiven for her lack of enthusiasm.
All in all though an enjoyable watch and is worth a look see just for the "Total look" segment of the hair cutting tournament.
Donnie Darko (2001)
Incredible
Well when I finished watching Donnie Darko, I came out thinking
What is Truth?
You will definetly not find the answer to that question in Donnie Darko, but what you will find is an incredible movie, that takes you away from this world by planting you upside down in someone elses warped psychie.
The movie follows the path of the the antagonist Donnie who suffers from a form of schizophrenia, and consequently follows the orders of his newfound friend Frank - who resides in the suit of a rabbit. The movie ensues with almost surreal scenes of normality and intence camera angles. Definetly worth watching a number of times, just to get your head around the twisted ending.
Trainspotting (1996)
indelible
Trainspotting follows the destructable endeavers of Mark (rent-boy) Renton(Ewn McGregor) to get himself off Heroin. But with the inevitable one-last-hit always standing in his way, he seems doomed to waste his life with fellow comrades Spud, Sick-Boy Tom and the almost psychotic Begbie.
We go on a hallucogenic journey through the Edinborough underworld, while visiting the most disgusting toilet in Scotland, and the realm of Mother Superior.
However the beauty of the movie goes to the characters who are almost lovable in their mentally incompetant demeaners. So for everyone who enjoy the seedier side of life, or for parents who want to turn their children off Heroin, please come and enjoy the rigours of Trainspotting, it is sure to shock and offend, but as well it will intruige and leave a mark never to be wiped clean.
