Survivor's Remorse (2014–2017)
7/10
Far from perfect, but definitely worth checking out!
26 November 2014
While Survivors Remorse is definitely far from perfect... the show in its first season has potential. I thought the writing and acting was okay not great. It held my interests and I felt like I began to identify with some of the characters. The main character or at least the focus of the show Cam Calloway is probably one of the least interesting characters on the show and fails to truly establish an identity. This I believe is ironically an accurate portrayal of a young basketball star who has focused their entire life on becoming a pro athlete and lacks a genuine persona. He's basically a super talented basketball player with a huge heart... but that's pretty much all we see. They've gotta work on building that character and making him more interesting. Even if Survivors Remorse doesn't go further I'm glad they put it out there. You definitely have my support!

Power (2014–2020)
7/10
Thank you! Please Keep it coming!
26 November 2014
Power is a solid crime drama with decent actors. There were times where I felt the facial expressions of Tommy and the dude who drove James St. Patrick were a bit off, but I was eventually able to look past it. The biggest mistake I think the producers made was naming this show "Power". Try searching for "Power" on Google. It took me a while just to be able to figure out where to find it and whatnot. It is refreshing to see a well produced TV series portraying African-Americans in primary roles. I really hope to see more of this representation on television. I think if you like these type of shows you will enjoy it... while it doesn't compare to "The Wire" it is still worth seeing.

The Fall (I) (2013–2016)

A Very Intelligent and well written thriller!!
24 June 2013
Gillian Anderson is an excellent choice as lead detective in this series about her pursuit of a serial killer. The show also follows the life of the serial killer giving the audience an inside look that is rare and quite similar to Hannibal, but less dramatic in a good way. Ironically Gillian Anderson also has a prominent role in Hannibal as his personal Psychiatrist. I wish there were more shows like this on television, but I fear that the average person is more drawn to less sophisticated programming. At times it seems a bit slow, but the characters are so interesting it really doesn't bother me at all. I have yet to notice any glaring wholes in the writing and quite honestly the filming and cinematography is excellent! I pray this show is on for many more seasons to come, often though it is this type of show with all its perfection that gets cut short... let's keep our fingers crossed... they did at least get a 2nd Season.

The Purge (I) (2013)

Don't ruin the Trailer by watching the Movie!
24 June 2013
The best part about this movie was pretty much the name and the concept... the movie actually ruined the trailer... literally one of the worst and stupidest movies I've ever seen. The motivations for the characters were unbelievably confusing and irrational. Basically all of society has turned into psychopaths with the exception of a few poor people and kids. I wish I could say that it was remotely entertaining because I really wanted it to be. The funny thing is it wouldn't have made a difference who was in this movie, the entire film needed a makeover. Truly bad from start to finish... I am totally perplexed that anyone can give this a good rating or review without a paycheck following!

There aren't too many words I can think to describe this...
15 December 2010
There are not a lot of words I can use to describe this movie. It was pure and utter genius! The writing alone was astonishing... I would go as far as to call this the next Phantom of the Opera... there is no doubt that this will one day be a show on Broadway and on the Las Vegas Strip! I would without hesitation put this at the top of my list... here's why: it has one of the most powerful and revolutionary messages ever put in a Hollywood film, even if you aren't interested in the message you will be thoroughly entertained, Natalie Portman is unbelievable in this role!!! I don't see how anyone can give this movie anything less than perfect!!! Rent it! Buy it! Embrace it! This is a MUST SEE!
