Kids (1995)
8/10
An exploitative coming of age
7 January 2015
I had not heard of this film until my room mate informed me of the work of Harmony Korine and the unconventional aesthetics contained within his work. After hearing about the concept of this film and the nature revolved around it, I decided to sit down and watch it. Conveniently, "Youtube" has the entire unedited film in its entirety for free to view. On first note, I must identify the superb acting of Justin Pierce as Casper and may his tragic suicide in 2000 be noted and perhaps this role had a daunting effect on him. Kids today are curious, and this film exploits the innocence of adolescence to a the underground world of drugs and unprotected sex. This highly critical portrait of 90s youth is a phenomenal commentary on the ignorance of adult society as parents need to be aware of what their children are up to. This film presents a message through a highly disturbing and engaging 90 minutes of drugs and teenage fornication. For a shaky independent film, "Kids" will leave a lasting feeling on those who view it and hopefully will provide a critical point of view to parents who let their children out past midnight. I recommend this film to everyone as it shows us the life of uneducated and rebellious children who don't know anything about reality. Phenomenal work of art and excellent criticism on the dark side of youth. PARENTS MUST WATCH THIS FILM.

Key (I) (2011)
7/10
Great film but lacked some important elements
13 August 2012
Warning: Spoilers
The storyline for this independent film is very original and had me thoroughly intrigued throughout the duration. However there were some parts to the movie that had me second guessing the overall collaboration of the project. I didn't realize that the voice of the psychologist Dr. Jonathan Shoe speaking to the mental patient "Bud" was the voice of the dead man on the pathologist's table during the autopsy at first. I question why the psychologist Dr. Shoe was not featured in the film alive rather than just a corpse. It seems that his position contained significant importance being the father of the woman meeting Dr. Revell and explaining the significance of the key. Nonetheless, the project was very well done but if Dr. Shoe's character was more present, the film I believe would have been much better.

bloody bloody fun
1 September 2010
I didn't have high expectations for this film when I first saw the trailer. I thought it would just be another waste of time movie that I wouldn't pay money to see. As time progressed, I thought more about the movie and realized that it would actually be pretty fun to see. I was definitely right about this. I'm not pleased with the 3D in the movie but I was pleased with the amount of action the movie contained. Nonstop girls and violence is a great combination. This isn't exactly any Oscar winner production but it definitely earns it's place on the list of most entertaining 90 minute movies. The massive amounts of gore may be a little much for some, but it also plays its comedic effect. This film is in my opinion quite hilarious and worth seeing.

I never thought I could predict a movie all the way through
26 March 2010
This might be one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my entire life. And I've seen a ton of movies. This is ranks at the bottom next to "Witless Protection" and "Watchmen". I am sad that I've wasted 1 hour and 30 minutes of my life that I will never get back. Anyone thinking of actually making the mistake of watching this movie like I did, please notice that you have been warned about how this movie sucks. I personally would rather go listen to Dragonforce for an hour and a half than watch this movie again. I am feeling generous today so I'm giving this movie a 4/10 because of Kathryn Heigl being hot and the two times I laughed during the movie. But please, anyone reading this, DON'T WATCH THIS MOVIE! DON'T WASTE YOUR LIFE!

Best Harry Potter Book and a good movie
23 July 2009
"Half-blood prince" is my favorite Harry Potter book and the movie was pretty good. The movie left out a lot of key details but that's not something to worry about because they can't put everything into the movie or the movie would be 12 hours. So, if you want to watch a 12 hour Harry Potter movie you might as well just read the book. I liked how well detailed the memory scenes of Tom Riddle are done and there is a lot of humor added to this movie. I thought it was hilarious when sexual jokes were made in the movie and everyone was laughing except for the 10 year olds and under. I thought it was hilarious that they didn't get the jokes and was shocked that the movie got only a "PG" rating because it does incorporate a good bit of suggestive material.

Clerks (1994)
8/10
100% true
15 July 2009
Most people in this world don't like their jobs and I'm sure that convenience store employees don't like all their customers. This movie is absolutely hilarious and at some times a little exaggerated (like spitting on a customer) but all in all this is a classic movie and probably one of the cheapest movies ever made. Kevin Smith apparently had a $25,000 budget for this film. Go figure why it's in black and white. I love all Kevin Smith movies but this one is definitely up there as one of his best next to "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" but Jay and Silent Bob wouldn't have existed without "Clerks" and that's why this is Kevin Smith's best movie.

Entertaining but extremely violent
26 March 2009
I like the Final Destination trilogy because of its originality. The first one is the best, the second one is okay and this one is the second best of the trilogy for two reasons, 1) The movie has an attractive girl for the lead role and the other reason is that the film makers apparently got some pretty good special effects because this movie is over the top violent. This movie has some pretty bloody scenes. I liked the movie but, I really don't like it when film makers make movies too violent because, who are they impressing by putting a lot of blood and gore in the movie? But anyway, this movie is pretty entertaining and will keep you on the edge of your seat. Final Destination 3 is an average horror movie.

Scream (1996)
10/10
Classic
26 March 2009
Scream is one of the greatest movies of all time, even though it didn't have much of a plot. I just enjoy all the laughs and chills you could get watching this movie. This movie is highly entertaining and in my opinion will never get old. It's funny to notice that the MPAA rating consists of strong graphic horror violence and gore when the movie itself isn't really that violent. But, for that time I could see it being one of the most violent movies of its time. It's just cool to see how special effects have changed over time and movies now are so violent that they take away the point of the movie. Scream is a perfect movie when you're in the mood to be entertained. No one needs all the blood and guts that come from movies like "Hostel" and "Saw", even "Final Destination 3" was a little too violent. This movie will remain in fame for ever.

extremely funny and entertaining
15 February 2009
I just recently saw this movie and have to say that it was hilarious. I haven't laughed so much at a movie in a while and this movie really takes the cake. Also, the point behind the movie makes it even funnier. Elizabeth Banks is very beautiful and just her makes the movie great. I have been a fan of Kevin Smith's movies for a long time every since I saw "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" like eight years ago. I recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys laughing non stop and is a fan of Kevin Smith, but I don't recommend it to anyone who isn't at least 17 years old because the content of the film is very adult oriented. Anyone who is planning on having their kid watch this movie should definitely think twice. But, all in all, this movie is absolutely hilarious

Se7en (1995)

Extremely thrilling movie! Very Entertaining
28 December 2008
"Se7en" may be one of the greatest movies I have ever seen. The idea is very original and intense. The movie is not boring for a second. You will be entertained the entire time. This movie is definitely not for most people, but if you like violent and thrilling movies, this is a definite see. This movie came out a long time ago, but it is up there as one of the best movies in the past 20 years. Kevin Spacey plays an astounding performance as "John Doe", the serial killer who uses the seven deadly sins as a purpose to murder. Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt as well play excellent roles in this great movie. This movie is one of my absolute favorites and I could watch it every week and never get tired of it.

Miracle (2004)

Amazing Movie inspired by an amazing true story
20 December 2008
The 1980 United States Olympic team was selected from a bunch of college players as the Soviet Union were a national team who had been playing together for 15 years. The Soviets were unstoppable and after beating the USA 10-3 at Madison Square Garden, the 1980 Olympics seemed just like another gold medal for the Soviets. Kurt Russel's performance is great as Coach Brooks and it's amazing how the players were selected. Brooks was looking not for a team, he was looking for a family who could work together. The Americans were believed to not even get to the medal round but something caused them to play unbelievably. After beating Czechoslovakia 7-3, Team USA built up some confidence and played in the greatest sporting event in history. The USA/Soviet Union game on February 22, 1980. This turned out to be the greatest moment in sports history and this movie really re-created it well. The actors were great hockey players and having Al Michaels announce the games was very cool.

"DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES?" "YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
