Fast & Furious (2009)
Invigorating
I'm gonna give this a nine.....why ??....because it was invigorating. I am gonna admit there was some cliché and boring parts, but(IMHO)the movie had enough scenes and action sequences to redeem itself from these mishaps .... Vin Diesel was damn good as a revengeful, bitter but witty son of a bitch. He (his character) brought a sort of passion to this film namely because of Letty's death...i must say he made me laugh a few times. Paul Walker ?? well, what can i say.. he was O.K. could have been better but still good enough..... There were some action that made one say "Holy Sh%t !!!"...some of the action was kick@ss...>>> The tunnels scenes was awesome
The Ending ???....The Ending (which was sorta expected) was absolutely kickass (it made me smile). It makes one wonder if there will be a part 5....I see potential for an ongoing franchise movie
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008)
"Once a man twice a child" definitely comes alive in this film
A very good mix of "Forest Gump" and "Great Expectations" with a touch of originality. This movie was pretty decent. Brad Pitt was amazing as lead actor, Cate Blanchett was very good and Taraji P. Henson was simply outstanding as the overly caring mother figure......I must say that the story was very interesting, in that it did not let up for a second..everything just flowed and flowed so effortlessly and with a subtle intensity that it kept you focused without much of a struggle.... These guys really did their homework for this one.. I got one small complaint though, and i do so with a heavy heart. The length of the film is a "teeny weeny bit" questionable but then again i don't think it would have been so good if it was any bit shorter....Great Job Guys !!
Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (2009)
Plenty Potential, but poorly depicted
I must begin by saying that this movie has/had incredible potential. The acting was extremely bad, the story was deep but the director was totally clueless when it comes to street fighter......Vega was shitty, Gen was shitty, Bison was kinda aight, Chun-Li was kinda kinda aight, Balrog was disappointing and Nash was extreeeeeemely disappointing.
The Nash that i know from the game is a real bad-ass, a guy who can really kick ass but in the movie he was portrayed as someone who could barely mash an ant with some of the most corny lines in movie history such as "i love this job" which he said about three or four times throughout the movie.BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO for nash Balrog was disappointing because i didn't really get to see any boxing whatsoever from him....he just picked up unnecessary space in the film.
Bison didn't really disappoint as such because they showed his true evil and his twisted sadistic nature but i felt that his portrayal was lacking..... he was pretty incomplete
Gen, whose supposed to be a real bad-ass came across very slight...1 out of 10 stars for him....
Chun-Li was the ONLY and i emphasize THE ONLY good thing about this movie. BUT and i emphasize BUT, she was also disappointing. The character was carried pretty well by Kristin Kreuk, but she still needs to fine tune her acting skills a little more.
Matter of fact the whole damn movie was INCOMPLETE. The highlight of this movie is when Chun-Li used her "helicopter kick" and the hard part about it is that only lasted about 2-3 seconds.
L.A. Confidential (1997)
Great Movie.....Superb
I can safely give this movie ten out of ten stars because it is worth it.....This is what a movie should be not the crap that they're their peddling these days. This movie is a very intelligent, driven and very entertaining one. Every single actor (no matter how seemingly insignificant they seemed) acted superbly and absolutely wonderful there wasn't a weak performance throughout this movie. Danny DeVito was wonderful, Kevin Spacey was great and Russel Crowe was magnificent.
I don't know how much times i'll say it but man oh man this was a great movie. It is worth every single second of it. This is what good movies are made of !!!
Casino (1995)
Brilliant !!
This movie deserves 10 out of 10 but i gave it a 9 because it had a point where the movie dragged a bit. Bottomline is this movie is brilliant and beautifully written. One thing i absolutely loved about this movie is the narrative style that the director employed in this film, it gives the viewer the capacity to meticulously understand and follow what is going on the movie and why certain people (Joe Pesci) are just the way they are. I must give kudos to Sharon Stone she was absolutely brilliant in this film. Robert DeNiro was and is mostly always absolutely brilliant in every movie he's in. But for me Joe Pesci stole this film he was absolutely hilarious. Don't get me wrong this movie was in no way comedic, but Joe somehow made you laugh the way he had absolutely no respect for anybody whatsoever, thanks to him i now know what a "Sand Ni*ger" is (ha ha ha)....
Ip Man (2008)
Pretty Damn Good !!
This is one of the very few martial arts movies that i like, because it's all seriousness from the word go. It has very nice and entertaining storyline....with unbelievable fight scenes, when i say unbelievable i don't mean impossible i mean they were totally awesome....AND they chose the perfect actor to play the role of "Master Yip Man".
Ther is one minor problem that i have with the film though. And that is the way that the filmmakers portrayed karate, if anyone ever watched "Fist of Legend", you will see that karate was payed adequate respect. Although Jet Li who used the wushu style throughout the film (Fist Of Legend) beat the hell out of the karatekas in the film there were two masters in the film that proved that karate can be a very very formidable weapon in the right hands....in "Yip Man" karate was pretty much trampled upon (which is a total fallacy in my humble opinion) and the last boss was a total weakling...Master Yip Man ate him for breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Seven Pounds (2008)
Great Show !!!!
First things first, anyone who does not appreciate this movie has the emotional capacity of a brick !!! This movie is a masterpiece.....I've seen the critics reviews and the viewers reviews on other sites (and all over the net) and it pains me to know that i watched the same movie as these folks and they are just plain blind to see the brilliance of this film......the star (WILL SMITH) of this film has portrayed a character, that in my humble opinion is the perfect human........now when i say the perfect human i mean his actions and his sincere intention to do good while he was alive......and he still did an extremely good deed in his death...sorta like Christ...........the character was a little creepy at first but as the show progressed i understood his pain and his reason for being such a creep at times.........but as the film rolls it explains all of that to the viewer......Great Movie....Will Smith's best role yet (well in all the movies i've seen of him)
